We are currently staying here on vacation with our 4 children. It's an off week, so it's not super crowded, which we LOVE! Pros: the pool/hot tub is nice and big. Our room has a view of the beach. It's clean and maintained. The decor/carpet/furniture is updated. It is RIGHT across the street from the Dolphin Glass Bottom tour and pretty close to many other shops/gas/grocery stores. Cons: a lot of the employees here seem a little crabby..the maids were really nice though! You have to pay a hefty amount to rent the chairs on the beach for the day.. I was pretty surprised by this. And, the pools are VERY cold! All in all, the kids are happy so we are happy. But, for what it is as a whole I don't think the price is justified. *shrug* The view is gorgeous though! I love this city!!!

What is there to say about PBR? PRO: Nice pool Very convenient to the beach Various food options Easy access to the pool and the beach CON: It is an old Holiday Inn and it shows Music is a bit loud if you are in the room and want some quiet Dings from the elevator are LOUD

The best thing is the view, the beach & the hotel's pizzeria. The bathroom has no exhaust fan, is very small, has poor quality paper products. The bedding is so-so. The walls are beyond paper thin. The resort's restaurants are awful, unless you like a lot of beef & boring hotel food. NO complimentary coffee except from 5-7a.m. In room coffee awful. Overpriced. Everything ala carte/not worth the money. If you go here, dine at Cosmos or their sister restaurant Cobalts. I did find the staff friendly & helpful. They provide complimentary bellman service BUT do not allow you to take your luggage to your room yourself using their luggage caddy/must be accompanied by bellman. It was clean except for some long gray hairs I found on carpet outside bathroom. They go to the trouble of providing "green" bath products, but ignore other basics.

Room wasnt ready at check in. Room quality similar to super 8 dolled up with Ikea sheets. They make you pay to sit in the chairs along the beach...and you are trapped in a hellish southern tourist town with nothing fun for miles....so you kind of NEED to go to the beach....this is what we call "a racket" A separate company owns their beach, so when they say "our beach" that is a lie. Room wasnt cleaned on 2 of the days All this considered, it's grossly overpriced and not remotely near anything that exciting or beautiful. AVOID

So, we got a room here on the night of a wine dinner. Knew the price was high because it was one of the last weekends before children were back in school. I want three main things in a hotel room. A very clean bathroom with nobody else's hair on the floor or footprints when I check in. No hair, holes, or large stains on the sheets, and nothing broken in the room. It took four rooms to get this. I will say that the gentleman at the front desk was wonderful throughout the entire thing. He even upgraded our room. That was nice, but not necessary. We did finally end up in a room where they changed the sheets, and I was happy. The hotel used to be a Hilton, and is owned by the same people who own Cain Vineyards. I think that perhaps my expectations were too high. In the end, I would probably only stay here again if it was a discounted rate and definitely not specially to go to a Cain Wine Dinner. The big positive was that the front desk staff was extremely friendly!

We hit it during the sweet spot between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Rates were incredible and service was excellent. Views were beautiful, pools were heated and the hot tub was ok. Such a great destination and beautiful key!

Positives: It's directly on the beach very nice staff clean decent room service food indoor outdoor pool and jac. Negatives Outdated decor the floor in the pool area is extremely slippery.. POOR TILE CHOICE ! Bellhop was MIA a couple of times

I had to go on a business trip and was lucky enough to get to spend two nights here, the view is the best part, and I will post some pictures for this resort. The place is clean, it is a little run down, but who stays in the room other than to sleep unless, you are there for other reasons anyway? The down side, the restaurants and bars were empty most of the time, I hate this economy. It has a great pool and spa, not too expensive and great beach access. Highly worth a stay. Only 3 stars because the food and beverage department was almost non existent

Not a bad place to stay, although I've never paid full price. I'm not too sure that I would pay $180 a night to stay here, especially since you could rent a condo right next door. The staff is great: super friendly and welcoming, and of course the hotel is right on the beach.

We recently stayed here and got what I felt was a good price for being in a place directly on the beach during off-season, but we booked through expedia. There were hardly any families or even couples when we stayed. Most people seemed to be there on business. This was perfect for us because it meant it wasn't overly crowded and you could pretty much be in the pool or hot tub by ourselves. I would agree with others that this place isn't fancy by any means, but we found it to be very clean. We had a king size bedroom and the room was very big. The only complaint there was the bathroom was super tiny-with no room to maneuver. There were plenty of dining options although we only did the little snack bar for ice cream and room service when the weather was bad, but we saw they offered a create your own pasta night and 4 course dinner with 4 wine pairings, which seemed like great options for those interested. The tiki bar outside with the live entertainment was great and of course having the beach access right there was the best. They were a little misleading on their website in saying that they had tennis courts. We expected them to be somewhere on-site and we couldn't find them so we finally asked and were directed to some sort of run-down courts across the street. I will also say that when we booked it said check-in at 3. We got there a little after 3 and the room wasn't ready and they told us guaranteed check-in wasn't until 4, although it said that nowhere in our reservation. They said they would call when the room was ready so we went and explored the hotel, had a drink, walked the beach, and still no phone call and by this time it was well after 4 so we went back up to the reservation desk and they made no mention of the fact that they didn't call. They just said yes your room is ready now. Other than a couple of little quirks, I thought this hotel was fine and suited our purposes well. It was close to restaurants and shops, along the main strip, and most importantly it was clean and on the beach. I would recommend. They also throw in complimentary valet parking, which is nice even though we did self-parking the whole time.

We enjoyed our stay in their very clean resort RIGHT on the beach so much that we cancelled our trip to Biloxi and added two days to our stay here. The gulf view room was a king room and had plenty of space for us to spread out. Loved being able to open the balcony door and sleep to the sound of the gulf. The only down side to that was a bouy/beacon at the point that "alarmed" with a fog horn regularly...enough to be a little annoying.

My parents decided to stay here for a anniversary. Big mistake. Restaurant staff was rude. Service was poor. They overcharged beyond what the package price was supposed to be. Check other review sites and you will find this to be far from a resort.

Undoubtedly one of the best beach resorts for the family in gulf shores, Alabama. A live one man band plays poolside during the weekends and there is a semi wet bar which serves fabulous ice drinks.

Came by to visit friends - nice pool area and decent pizza parlor...

For the price you pay to be close to the damn Gulf of Mexico, it's a good price but maybe because we went off season. I have to say that although it's not fancy, it was extremely clean. Boasts an indoor pool that connects with the outdoor pool, 2 indoor jacuzzis, one for adults and the other unspecified, a gym complete with weights, it's a good size gym and not a small room size one either. Also, the main reason we booked---it's on the damn beach. The place has 2 restaurants 1 for fine dining, the other is breakfast buffet and serves dinner, room service, provided, a pizza and ice cream place, an arcade for the rugrats. This place looks like a great place to house a small conference since it has ballrooms available. What more can you ask for? If you are looking for a place to stay and enjoy the beach, this is a good place. It might not have the artsy deco and contemporary art, but it's clean and meets all my needs. Our room had 2 queen size beds, tv, desk, mini fridge and it was a fairly big room, bigger than the biloxi casino rooms if you want to have something to compare to. All for $99. I booked through Orbitz, but the prices vary so make sure you check. Oh the most important part---free wireless internet. YAY! Cash and credit are accepted. This is a family friendly joint, during the summer Im sure the place is jumping so book early.

Nothing fancy but a nice location right on a beautiful beach on the redneck riviera. Great, helpful and friendly staff.

This! is a pretty good restaurant. You can get you a biscuit with ham and cheese. You can get you a grape. You can get you a piece a candy. Don't nobody care. I got me some frosted flakes with some 2 % milk. 2 % of it was milk. I don't know what the rest of it was, but it tasted like milk too. It was pretty good.

Super easy checking in and out... We stayed 1 night, room was very clean & bed was extremely comfortable. Pool area looks amazing although we did not get to use it. And the restaurant Inside the resort was awesome!!!! Service was great all the way around !!!

I booked a room at the front desk for 3 nights and promptly checked out the following morning. Walls are paper thin, you will hear everything. This old resort has aged quite a bit. While the "make up" looks to have been an attempt to remodel the room interior, the mattresses seem to be originals (overly soft and collapsed) and the AC was quite aged as well. The television is very poor quality and literally offered about 6 channels of PBS - not cable, not DTV, not anything other than a terrible, antique set of 20 or so channels. The bathroom was very, very small and made it almost impossible to move around in. This is the type of place that, if you're accustomed to staying at much older motels (not a resort or hotel, but a motel) it will seem nice - about the same size room as well. The "view" they offered (which was an extra charge) was effectively overlooking another hotel with a slight view of the beach. A telling sign that they seem to have issues with guest retention is the 1/2 day rate they charged me to check out "early". If a hotel is doing that, then they're likely used to people leaving because they are disappointed with what they've seen first hand. Following this stay, my wife and I left, drove to Hilton Head and booked an actual 4 star resort for less than half the nightly rate Perdido Beach Resort was charging. Not worth the money and I wouldn't recommend it for most people. If you think about staying here, think of the other options around there or anywhere - I'm sure they can't be as bad as this place. The one redeeming quality was the valet guys - nice folks.

My wife and I made a quick trip to the coast...really just over night and spend the next day at the beach before going home the next afternoon. We arrived about three hours early, so we couldn't check in. However, they allowed us to have full use of the outdoor facilities, which is the whole reason we were there - so great. After a few hours of baking in the sun and a few (or maybe several - can't really recall) drinks later, we were able to check in. The check in process was smooth, we were taking great care of in getting our luggage to the room. Our room was great - the view was really great for a sunset. The hotel restaurant serves great food as well as has great service. The checkout process the next day was smooth as well. Just a great place and great staff. Perfect beach access, pool and hot tub are really great - you can order "fast food " type foods at the pool for snacks. You can tell this is an older hotel, but it is really well kept and the staff and service is great. Highly recommend.

Our family of 3 stayed there last week and we loved the place. The housekeepers were amazing, our room was clean and we loved the beach. It is a bummer to pay $25 per day for 2 beach chairs and an umbrella but many brought their own so for them it was a savings vs adding it to the room cost and making everyone pay for them. If any improvements are to be made it would be service in the food areas. Breakfast was a buffet and one morning took 20 minutes to be seated with nearly all tables empty.

This is an amazing place we are here now for our 1st anniversary and I truly have enjoyed staying here ... 1st let me say splurge for a full beach view balcony room (my only regret with booking here is that we didn't) the staff is on point and I have not encountered an unpleasant staff member yet ... However the shining star is the concierge I believe her name is Cindy ...she is amazing and should truly be commended for her work ... She helped my husband plan a breakfast in bed surprise for me with flowers and a card ... It was amazing and she was great at helping him plan everything without me knowing..200 stars for her!!! The rooms are clean and very cozy no complaints about our stay whatsoever!! However do realize this is a resort not a hotel so things tend to be a little pricey but even that isn't to bad in my opinion well worth the money

Just spent the weekend here while in town for a wedding. I was super impressed with the hotel interiors, amenities around the hotel and then the rooms. Nice big lobby windows allow you to see the beach and waves in the background plus a lovely pool area. Sad it was too cold to utilize it. The room was very spacious with a mini frig + coffee maker. But the bed was off the hook comfortable. And the pillows were great too very full and soft. We did use the indoor jacuzzi one night - nice way to end the nite. We had ate most of our meals elsewhere, but on Sat. am we did eat in the main restaurant. For a complete buffet brunch they only charged $9.99! Highly recommend it.

I'm not exactly sure where to begin.. I checked in here on Friday morning and I have enjoyed myself immensely! The room doesn't have a microwave but there is one available in the vending area. The ice machine works and that's a plus because I brought coolers of water, juice and some soda with some deli meat and things to avoid wasting a lot if cash in eating out. The refrigerator in the room works great at keeping things cold. The beds... I have slept straight through the night for two nights in a row without any body pains or discomfort. Perfect! I can walk right out onto the beach each morning and I so love, love, love that! I have a wonderful view oh yeah free parking and the maid services are great. There is a game room on bottom level for kids, kiddie pool, and easy beach access. I will definitely use them again in the future. I am having such a wonderful end of summer vacation.

First and foremost, our view was amazing! The price was right -- but I guess you get what you pay for. - The decor was outdated - The bed was super lumpy - Pillows needed replacing - The hvac system was an old and loud single stage system - you can't set it at a certain temperature and it doesn't shut off when it reaches desired temperature. Not very efficient. That's for sure. - The walls were super thin (you can hear your next door neighbor breathe) - No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Since we were there during their 'off season', they only had one restaurant opened, Latitude, and I was told by a front desk agent that it was located on the beach level. I went down there, walked around, and nope, it was actually on the same level as the front desk. How do they not know that? Anyway, the food was only ok -there wasn't much variety to choose from. But the service was really good. Our waitress was very attentive. The reason I have to give 2 stars is because there was a GIGANTIC cockroach in our room. it was huge and crawling around the room. I called the operator and they sent a nice gentleman from engineering to spray it and send it on its way back to the beach. I can understand that those roaches are cold and seeking warmer shelter, but what a big turn off. Bugs just give me the heebee jeebees, especially big, giant ones. Do I really want to be sleeping with one eye opened hoping one doesn't crawl all over my face? Anyway, Hotels.com gave this place the highest rating among its competitors. I should have checked Yelp also. It was definitely not what I expected. I definitely would have paid a little extra to stay at the condos up the street near FlorAbama.
(2)Darin G.
Our room was clean and fantastic with a great view of the pool an gulf. Breakfast is excellent. The only complaint I would have is that they don't have their own Perdido chairs out on the beach for guests. So bring your own chairs.

My wife and two kids (5,1) stayed here for an extended Fourth of July holiday. We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Sunday. The property itself is a bit dated, but I found the rooms a little more recently refreshed. Our "partial ocean view" was more generous than expected. The staff was very friendly, too. The Good: 1. The beach is excellent. We usually visit Galveston, TX only because it's a few minutes from home. But it doesn't compare. White sand. Clean from trash and debris. Clear water by our standards. In what would otherwise be a three-star experience, the beach earns this review that fourth star. The beach chair and umbrellas are well worth the $30 charge. Staff will reposition the umbrella, take your trash, recommend things to do. 2. The fireworks show wowed. We lounged by the pool and watched with other families. It was a great vibe. People cheering. Since they shoot them from the beach, I've never been so close to major fireworks. These are not rinky-dink rockets from the road-side stand. These were legit. My family was impressed. 3. My kids wanted pizza the first night there. We're Italian and have high standards for that sort of thing. I expected cardboard. But what was delivered to our room was pretty darn good. No individual ingredients stood out, but the sum was greater than it's parts. Came to $12 per pie, served right up to our room piping hot. Leftovers in the room fridge let us snack on it the next day. The Bad: 1. Our room was dirty when we arrived. Really dirty. Under the bed there were 20+ jellybeans, and a tennis ball that had obviously been chewed by a dog (interesting considering that the property doesn't allow pets). An article of clothing was left in one of the drawers. The desk was covered in a sticky red substance. Flies buzzing, though I realize that can happen with a balcony. Now, after that first impression - which was horrendous - I found the cleaning crew to be competent. But no guest should ever arrive to their room in that state. 2. Breakfast at Latitude 30 was disappointing. It's priced so well that I guess I can't really gripe. But the buffet is just sorry. The woman on the omelet station was without skill or care. The pastry tray remained empty the entire time we ate. The syrup was beyond room temperature to the point of tasting chilled (who does that?). Our waitress spilled OJ on our five-year-old because she failed to put the lid on. At least she didn't charge us for it, I guess. Overall, I'd stay at Perdido again. But more because of the beach proximity and set-up than the qualities of the resort. The beach and the staff who work it really are remarkable. Those college kids working the sand deserve a raise. They spoiled us. They cared. They were charming. And they made us forget about all the little blips related to the property. Kudos to the guys and girls in those neon yellow shirts.

Its an old Holiday inn. Just now its far overpriced and made to look like its far more than it is. The rooms are small but the rooms are clean and so it the linen. The food is terrible though. Its ok to stay if you have to, but get away from the hotel for food and fun. The pool is nice. TV selection is poor

We booked this after all the other ones were apparently sold out for a last minute trip to stay one night on Friday, May 1st. Rooms were really nice, bathroom area had two separate sink areas to get ready in, one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom which is nice. Decent space for a room, fridge and cute balcony to seat two and small table. We had partial gulf view and it was nice overlooking inlet of water and the gulf (not full facing). We had our 7 and 9 year old boys so we only dined in the pizza and ice cream cafe. Pizza was doughy so don't order thick crust. Gross. Try thin crust if you must. Ice cream good and they had pitchers of beer or cups for sale in the pizza cafe. It was foamy and the semi skilled employee had trouble pouring a pitcher with all the foam. It was only Bud Light, so nothing fancy. It was nice that they had towels at the pool area (indoor pool has towels) and a separate grown ups only hot tub from another hot tub for 12 and over. The indoor pool is tiny and you can swim through to the outdoor pool which is really big and lovely. During the day, you can get a towel (one per person) from the attendant outside and write down your room number and then return it or a fee. It's right on the beach and you cannot beat that. Just walk out to the water. The louge chairs that you can sit on to face the water that have shade canopy option are a fee based service. So, you can pay the attendant on the beach for use of the lounge chairs on the beach or just use your towel from the hotel pool area for free. Or BYO chairs or blanket. It's a decent walk out on a HUGE sandy beach with soft sand, so you won't want to lug a ton of stuff to use on the beach. It's really beautiful at that part of the beach. We had two stingrays swim right by us and it was creepy! Parking lot is close to the front but easier to do valet if you wish. We did not try the more upscale restaurant off of the lobby or the bar since we had our children with us. I wish it included a free breakfast, but nope. We knew that ahead of time though and planned accordingly. They have breakfast at the restaurant there, but we had kid snacks with us for breakfast and just went straight out to the beach at 8 am to get beach time in before we had to get back to the room and check out. Check out is NOON which we loved! That extra hour is important! I did appreciate the coffee maker in the room, that was nice.

This was a last minute trip. To be with family who are not going to be here with us for long. The last trip we will have with my mother in law. The hotel was more than accommodating and the staff were helpful and friendly. It's funny one of the receptionists had a tag on that read" the best receptionist" and she truly was. Shook our hands and welcomed us to the beginning of our weekend. Made us feel at home in the middle of our anxiety and stress. This is truly a place to relax and get away. We hope to come back and relax in its super white sands and calm ocean surf and remember all the good times again soon.
(5)Jacqui G.
I really enjoyed my stay here-- I give the 2 thumbs up for being 0.1 miles from the beach-- I love the beach!!-- I can't wait to return again soon and I don't won't to forget how hospitable and personable all the staff 100

This place accidentally booked 3 rooms on my debit card on a Friday at check in. We had to stay at the beach for 3 days WITHOUT any money until the charges were reversed on monday. Not that nice of a place anyway and all management did was comp a breakfast. Thanks for nothing. UPDATE: I understand mistakes happen. The other rooms in the group had been checked in for hours before our arrival. There were no instructions given by me other than "use this card for this room". The breakfast was appreciated but does not make up for holding almost $1000.00 (all our money) for the duration of our trip. I expressed this to your manager (Mickey) and asked if he could do anything to help help us or at least discount our room. "No" was the answer I received. Honestly, I was more disgusted with Mickey's lack of concern than the fact that it happened. He is a terrible representative of your resort. I actually had to make the lady at the desk get him to come out and talk to me about the situation.

This is an A-OK resort place to stay...though if I hadn't been there on business (with the employer picking up the tab) I would never voluntarily pay the rate I was charged...then again the room I was located in had a view of the pool and beach plus I know one pays for that ease of access to a private beach if one stays at a place like this... Now as I've noted in past hotel reviews I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to hotels and focus on cleanliness, bed comfort and shower water pressure...CHECK to all 3 so I found this place to fit my needs... They offer complimentary Valet parking which is nice...also 3 different dining options plus a bar/nightclub on the Beach level with an Arcade for the kids located on that level as well...nice pool, sweet little poolside bar...live music every afternoon around the pool but being on the 9th floor it didn't really impact me when I wanted to nap... Being a resort they are self contained to try and keep you from leaving...knowing that the restaurants tend to kick you with the prices...wasn't impressed with the prices for breakfast buffet at Cafe Palm Breeze but like I said they got you especially if you're there with the fam & the kids are ready to eat and hit the pool or beach... All in all it's A-OK and I'd stay here again but they'd have to offer a better room price if I was paying on my dime...
