Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Service is usually pretty good. Their crab angles are awesome!

For Chinese food in Alabama, I guess this was pretty decent. However I want to note that this place should really be called Myeung's Garden instead of Ming's Garden, because this is clearly a Korean restaurant serving Chinese food... well in Montgomery, what can I expect! Decent General Tso's Chicken at least. Probably the best I had in Alabama... Sad...

When Montgomery was my old stomping ground, Ming's Garden was a favorite place for Chinese. So, on a recent trip back from the beach I stopped by for old time's sake. Ming's menu is the typical extensive Chinese menu with close to 100 options, not counting appetizers and soups. But I was there on Sunday for lunch and had a choice of 35 lunch combinations. All lunch combos come with soup and rice but only seven also get an eggroll. That struck me as a little odd. I ordered cashew chicken, one of my favorite dishes. I'd like to say it was a good as I remembered, but I was slightly disappointed with my meal, mostly because the brown sauce that came with the dish was overly sweet. I don't ever remember cashew chicken tasting like this. Still, I scarfed it down but it didn't compare to higher quality Chinese food I've found at home. The service was quick and attentive and the restaurant was packed. You don't last for 30 years without appealing to people. But, whatever itch I as looking to scratch has been satisfied.

This place was great considering we are in Alabama. I will always compare the food to China town in Los Angeles, Ca. So this place is descent.

This is THE best Chinese food I've ever had in town. Seriously, the best. The service is great and Ricky, the owner, is VERY meticulous on the way food is presented, quality and experience. If you want the best, freshest Chinese food in Montgomery, check out Ming's.

Good food served in a typical strip-mall atmosphere. We had fried shrimp, pot stickers and house special lo mien. Food, service and price all met our expectations. When in Montgomery, we will come again.

Recently moved to the area and tried Mings from the Yelp reviews and was very impressed. The General Tso chicken is spicy and tender while my husband enjoyed his Sweet N Sour Pork and Lo Mein. Excellent sauces/seasoning and quality of meat.

I was with some friends who aren't the daring, let's go try something new type of crowd. I didn't feel like selling a new restaurant to them so we went with Chinese. The previous Chinese Buffet restaurant we tried was okay but not too hot so this was a new place for us. All curtained off with reflective tint, I'm guessing to keep the heat out. Seemed like we were too enclosed and with the almost gaudy but traditional interior decorations, we could have been in China. The tables were a little sticky and the interior didn't smell 100% fresh. Another sign for a true Chinese place. We went with the dinner for five and the pupu appetizer tray. Hot and sour soup was the best I've had in a long time and the egg roll was pretty good too. Pupu appetizer was nothing to brag about. It was more fun to watch the fire burn than to eat the pupus. Dishes came out pretty quickly and our glasses never sat empty for more than a few seconds. Great service. Sweet and Sour Pork was the worst dish- dry and lacked flavor. The rest were all pretty good. Kung Pao chicken was probably my fav. There was a beef and broccoli over crispy noodles that was super tender and excellent. Can't remember all the names so I'm not going to list them. Wish we weren't sitting right next to a loud family with four young kids. Maybe my experience would have rated a little higher. Over all, not bad.

The food here is delicious and the service is just as good. I had the sweet and sour pork (Korean style) and the jajang myun noodles....taste was great. It actually took me back to Korea when I ate this there. Highly recommended and I will be coming back for sure.

I like good Chinese food and lived with a Chinese family for a while and learned about the cuisine. The food in this restaurant was what I would call very good American Chinese food. My friends who have been to China, say that American Chinese food is better than that what you get in China. I got the fried chicken wings. They were excellent. For the meal, I got Mongolian pork it was excellently flavored and equally good. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good Chinese food. I will return again if in the area. The service was beyond excellent. Very friendly staff. I do not have enough good words to say about this place.

This is the only place I would go for Chinese food in Montgomery. It's not super authentic chinese food but they do have some. It's the best Americanized Chinese restaurant. They also have korean food because the owner is from South Korea. The service is always friendly and most of the time you will have a nice conversation with the owner.

Had a delicious dinner for two which included soup, egg roll, sweet and sour pork and mongolian beef. It was all delicious with large portions and great service. One of the best Chinese places we have ever had the pleasure to eat at....especially for Montgomery, Alabama.

We did a road trip from Dallas, TX to NC and on the way home, tired of TN bbq and Southern food (we are foodies) Yelped a chinese joint and this happened to be very close to the Interstate. We got there just as they opened and were surprised how many people were already there. They to a brisk takeout business, too. We ordered the Kung Pao, Chicken Chow Mein, and Sweet-n-Sour Pork. The wonton soup was one of the better ones I've had and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. But I neglected to ask for my Pao to be extra spicy as the other two that ordered it did and was taken aback at the sweetness of the dish. :( Anyway, nice little joint in the strip mall that served its purpose to us that day!

I am visiting Montgomery, and was looking for some decent chinese food. I read the existing review on YELP and decided to give it a chance. It did NOT disappoint! The food was delicious & the staff was very nice! I had the Yu Shan Garlic Chicken and the ingredients were very good and not at all like "trash" chinese. I would 100% go back to this Chinese Restaurant & recommend it to anyone! A+ Give it a try!

This is the best Chinese restaurant in Montgomery. Even though they are a little liberal with the pepper in it, to get better Hot & Sour soup I'd have to drive 4 hours to a little place in Hattiesburg, MS. Everything I've tried here has exceeded my expectations, and impressed the folks eating with me. Never a bland or bad dish. No wonder they've been here so long, they care about the food they serve.

In town on business and have been here twice. Definitely above average food, but the service is way above. First visit I had the spicy seafood soup(rainy day), and it was very good. Good enough I was back two days later and order the kung pao. It was a little different from what I am used to and the manager must have noticed my concern because he came right over and asked if it was alright. I explained my issue and he knew right away what I was talking about based on where I am from and what I am used to. He told me to hold on and disappeared into the kitchen coming back with the dish cooked as I know it, and it was good! Talk about customer service. It was much appreciated and I will be back.

I am Chinese and originally from San Francisco, CA. Grew up around AUTHENTIC Chinese food. I have lived in Montgomery for 10 years now and have eaten at a lot of restaurants. Ming's Garden is the ONLY place in Montgomery that has the closest to authentic Chinese Food you will ever find in Montgomery. Of course if I really must have AUTHENTIC, I go to Atlanta, but Ming's Garden will do while I'm living here. The food is Great and the Owner is always Friendly.

Okay no joke....best Chinese resteraunt I have ever went to. I have been eating here since I was just a kid, and ihave never had a bad experience. The owner is a korean man and is always at the front to welcome you with a smile. All the waiters and waitresses are dressed very nicely, and always there at your service. The atmosphere is very nice, feels like you took a walk through China after you left. The menu has e erything with a little bit of korean food also. There Chinese food is 5 star top notch best I have ever had. I recomend the jajangmyun. One of my favorites.

Whether Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, or Chinese, there are not many Asian restaurants in Montgomery that I view with any enthusiasm. The Chinese food situation is particularly frustrating, as truly excellent Chinese cuisine is incredibly appealing, and would find a welcome audience in Montgomery, a city where even mediocre Chinese restaurants continue to thrive. But such is the situation: The Chinese restaurants of Montgomery are completely interchangable. Each restaurant offers the same dishes, cooked the same way, with the same flavors, textures, and ingredients. So if you're looking for a place to have a Chinese dinner in Montgomery, there are two questions you must ask. First, are you willing to drive 90 miles up the road for a meal at PF Chang's in Birmingham? If not, are you more concerned with getting the best price, or the best overall experience? If it's a good price you're after, you can do much better than Ming's Garden. But this restaurant has been in business for several decades, and in a city like Montgomery, there has to be a good reason for that. Here, it's consistency: From the service to the food, Ming's provides you with a solid experience every time. It's for that reason that Ming's is where I go when I want Chinese food here in town, and I would recommend it to others-- it's just unfortunate that Ming's is so heavily outclassed in every area by PF Chang's.

My family has been dining at Mings for 14 years. The best Chinese food in Montgomery hands down. Flavorful, excellent service, and you leave feeling satisfied. The owner is like family. I live in Miami now but always visit when back home!

I decided to try Ming's based on the reviews, but I was very disappointed. I had the Steamed Potstickers (6 for $5.95) but they tasted just like the ones you get in a big bag at Costco. Nothing special at all. I also ordered the Kung Pao Chicken ($8.95) with fried rice. The fried rice was not fried at all, it looked like steamed rice soaked in soy sauce with a few peas and carrots. The Kung Pao Chicken was not spicy at all and was covered in a dark sweet sauce that was horrible. If you like those baby corn cobs, you would love this dish. Seemed there were more of those than chicken and I counted 3 chili peppers. Very bland. I would rather eat at PF Changs or Pei Wei so I know what I'm getting. I'll skip this one next time!

In a city full of take-out chinese and chinese buffets, Ming's stands out as the best and maybe only real chinese food resturaunt. I cannot be a critic of what authentic chinese food tastes like, but I find Ming's to be less greasy and salty than the other chinese places in town. Ming's has both lunch and dinner menus and has enough room to host events in. We've used it a number of times to host company events and birthdays because the food is consistently good and the service is great without charging you a ton. If you're hungry for chinese food in Montgomery, this is the place to go.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
