Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I'm a pizza snob. Maybe a food snob all together, but definitely for pizza. This is the best pizza in Montgomery. Just say no to pizza chains
(5)Phillip L.
Good pizza in Montgomery Alabama??? I kid you not. The pizza was quality and filling.
(4)Michael M.
Loved the pizza here and the service. Also, kids get a free cheese pizza on Sunday! Hope I will be back if ever visiting Montgomery again.
(5)Angie M.
Great food and service, pasta menu could be bigger, but all the dishes we had were tasty, fresh, and legit.
(4)Barbara W.
Nice service. Kids enjoyed the PacMan machine and coloring on the paper table covers. Generous servings. Milkshakes, pizza, pasta, calzones, grinders. Outdoor seating when the weather permits. Pizza is thin crust with plentiful sauce and cheese. Garlic cheese bread served with fresh basil (tasty but per my son very herby). Note the picture caption is wrong. Sandwich is the Balljacker not the Ballbuster Freudian slip.

Stopped in on our way back to FL for a late lunch--love their pizza. My wife and I both ordered a custom pizza. They have a tremendous variety of options for a build your own pizza. You choose your sauce from at least 5 options, then choose cheeses--more than half a dozen options, then there is probably more than a dozen choices of meat topping and even more choices of veggies. Prices are reasonable. The crust was delicious--obviously fresh handmade! Nice lineup of draft beers as well.
(5)Chris L.
Will update review after second visit. Got the 5-meat pizza. I think if they had done ANYTHING else with the sausage, instead of creating a whole layer under the cheese, it would have been better. I'll get a standard pepperoni next time, so i can use that as a control group. They had several craft beers on tap, which is always a plus. Was kinda hard to find, because it is around behind the shopping center/strip mall, with poor (no) lighting on the sign and no sign out front as far as i could tell.

I tried to eat at Montgomery pizza kitchen at least once a month. I've always been happy with the food and service. The tables come with a paper tablecloth. There are ever present crayons for the kids to color on the table, which I really like. The draft beer selection is usually really good. There's a small courtyard adjacent to the entrance which is open for eating outside when the weather is nice.
(5)Orlando M.
Great pizza! Very nice people working here. Had a medium size pizza with veggies, sausage, and pepperoni
(4)Tisha B.
Passable thin crust pizza. Toppings were few and far between. Mushrooms were chopped so small I couldn't see them. Same with other toppings except for a couple of larger pieces of ham. For Montgomery it was okay. Friendly service. Zero atmosphere. Zero ambiance. Paper table cover, silverware in paper and paper towels on the table: kinda tacky. A small pizza is $9, should be about $5. It's hidden in the back of shopping center. Looked closed. Interior has seen better days.
(3)Christopher P.
Their ingredients are in desperate need of seasoning. It seems there is no seasoning at all which made the flavors fall flat. Bruschetta was pretty good.
(3)Jason K.
Average pizza, small venue, and only beer. I can appreciate the local-ness( not a word, but you get the idea) of this place, but it didn't really do it for me. I'd go back again, but not a must, Hit up Tomatino's in Cloverdale!!!!!!!!!!!!! best pizza in town... skip this place
(2)Melissa H.
Delicious thin crust pizza, good beer selection, and a really friendly staff make this place fun!
(4)Elizabeth B.
Definitely a favorite! Great pizza great price. Friendly staff.
(5)Michael P.
The pizza was stupendous. I got the 5 meat, and it was the best pizza I've probably ever had. It was dripping with grease, as all good pizza should be. The service was absolutely awesome, they really seemed to care and want you to be happy with your meal. My brother, he's 7, loves the pac man machine that they have, we practically had to pry him off it to eat. Overall, it was an amazing restaurant , and should I find myself in the area, I will definitely go again.
(5)Michelle L.
It is a sad sad day when the best part of your meal is bag of potato chips. False advertising: I ordered a sandwich that was supposed to be made with italian cold cuts, homemade foccaccia bread (um it came out on french bread) and melted cheese--hah, whatever. I think "congealed" is a better word to describe that not hot, but cold mess. That entire sandwich was dead cold. The meat was also sliced very thick (a no no if you're aiming for flavor), which also made it difficult to eat the sandwich. The meatballs that came on our pizza were frozen. My companion Captain Palatewas able to tell right away. So much for the gourmet/local/artsy fartsy posturing! Redeeming features:family friendly, with crayons to draw on the paper tablecloth, paper, super Mario video game in the corner, and cheap food with big portions. Also our waitress sensed the displeasure radiating from our mien (though it was probably pretty obvious after we asked her outright about the meatballs, bread, and cheese) and comped the sandwich which was really nice of her. One last bonus if you are still somehow willing to try this place: free wifi! However, I will not return! I will not be fooled again. If its too good to be true, it probably is... And don't go to Montgomery, Alabama for pizza or Italian food.
(1)Wendell C.
Good food! Good pizza choices. Really enjoyed the 3 meat calzone. Good beer! Good draft selection. Nice little spot! Steady stream of people. a little different to find. On back side of property. Friendly waitstaff and bartender. I would definitely go again.

Love love love this place. Pasta has be so sadly hit or miss. First 5 times was best I have had in town and lasagna that rivaled some of best ever. I've been in withdrawal since moving from BHam's Gianmarco's. Their prices are very reasonable and pasta of the week once was a seafood dish with vodka sauce and shrimp/crab....awesome. Sadly their pasta the past half dozen times has been mushy and overcooked. Avoid the meatballs which are frozen tasteless and obviously premade. They lasagna was so good in the past I'm still hoping it gets good again someday. My wife had given up and says I should stop trying. Really sad that it was soooooo good, and now it so bad. I'm praying it's a phase. Regardless the pizza is so awesome. Makes pasta an afterthought. We like the Zelda. They have nice and different options to pick. Plus make your own ... i.e. The usual suspects. Also the appetizers are nice and one of them is basically a cheese pizza with some fresh basil. Soooooo good. We bring all out friends and family here. If only the pasta hadn't sucked so bad so consistently so much, id give 5 stars as it had otherwise been so amazing so consistently. Maybe they hired a new chef for pasta who sucks. It's very sad as the flavors are there. Just so mushy. And again. Remember no meatballs. Otherwise, the food is so good (pizza primarily) I still have this as one of my absolute favs in town. Fun atmosphere. Kinda small which makes it more enjoyable. As opposed to something like mellow mushroom which is kinda too big to have character. Don't miss the fun metal beer signs in the can before you leave. Lastly, great rotation of on draught beers. Overall, was a 10. Now an 8 with upward mobility potential if they learn to make pasta al dente again instead of overcooked. We love it and will keep coming back. And it's always office favorite at lunchtime for catering!!!!
(4)Alyssa M.
This place is hidden in a shopping center but worth a stop. I really liked my salad which came with large portions of chicken mozzerella tomatoes etc. yum! Beers were a tad pricier than we are used to paying for the same brews ($6 vs. $4) which came as a sad surprise at the end of a fun lunch.
(4)J. D.
I have to admit -- this place is out of the way and unless you knew specifically where you were going, you might miss it. It's settled in the back part of a shopping center, but I'll also tell you this: you'd be missing out greatly if you passed it by. I've only had a few items over the passing months, mainly the Stromboli's and the sandwiches, and they are indeed freshly made and the ingredients are tasty, not overpowering themselves but melding nicely together. The chef definitely has all the details covered in presenting his menu items with flavor in mind. One of my all-time favorites is the Chicken Stromboli, as the chicken is nice and moist, the garlic and tomatoes provide a good strong flavor, and the pesto provided is a well- deserved complement to the dish. As with some Stromboli's elsewhere, it comes out in a grease-covered mess -- not so with this item, as well as the others I've tried. The atmosphere is quaint and quiet, with a good bar selection of cocktails. The staff is immensely friendly and accommodating. Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed.

I went here with a group of 15. It's a relatively small restaurant, but they were happy to accommodate us. We called a few hours ahead of time and they had a table set up for us. It would be very difficult to have a group larger than 15 unless you were okay with being split up. I ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer and a small Trastevre pizza for my entree. I was driving, so I stuck with soda and water to drink, but others who chose to drink had a broad selection of beers to choose from. There was also wine. The Awesome: I can't say enough about the service there. A table of 15 mixed in with all the 2's and 4's scattered around the restaurant can be daunting. But our server was very attentive and constantly checking on us and keeping our glasses full (without being overly attentive). The Good: The bruschetta was delicious and beautifully presented. Halved cherry tomatoes for the topping and fresh chunks of onion, all drizzled with olive oil and vinegar. The pizza was also very good. The chicken was cooked to perfection and was still tender and moist even after running through the pizza oven. At $9, I felt the pizza was a good value, The Bad: The pizza crust was just a little soggy (one of my fellow diners sent hers back to be passed through the oven again). I think it's just the style of pizza and I didn't mind it at all, but it wasn't for everyone. The biggest issue I had was with the bruschetta. While it was beautifully presented, I expected a larger serving for $7. It was two pieces. The pieces were not small, but still not what I would have expected. The halved cherry tomatoes, while making for good presentation, made it very difficult to eat the bruschetta without tomatoes going flying in all directions. Overall: I would definitely go back again and suggest others to go. It's a little difficult to find. GPS will take you to the shopping center, but you have to drive around to the rear of the shopping center to find the restaurant.
(4)Rob B.
Good selection of beers on tap and pizza. I had the 9" margherita pizza and water (business lunch) and the total bill was $8.80. The pizza was very good and also closer to 12" (more than I could eat). The place is pretty bright during the day and small but it looks like it would be a great place to hang out at night.

Went to Midtown Pizza while traveling back from the beach to home. Found the place on yelp, but had it marked as the second place we might go. First we traveled downtown to an Italian place by the name of Sanza, I think. Since we were traveling, we were also eating lunch at a weird time, 2:30ish. We paid the meter, walked up to the restaurant, and find it's CLOSED! They close from 2-5 everyday. How inconvenient from someone who is traveling and just needs some pasta I'm their life!!! So we traveled over to Midtown Pizza and I would say we were very happy. If we hadn't been beered out from our vacation we defiantly would have tried one of their amazing selections. My boyfriend was freaking out that the place was in a Zelda shopping center and they had a pizza name Zelda. He had to get it. I myself needed my spaghetti fix so I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Huge portion and nice for the price. The meatballs didn't seem homemade, but you take what you get. Manager on duty was extremely friendly :)

I love little local pizza places and as we were heading home from our trip to Birmingham I searched for a well rated non-chain place on the way. I don't know what the other reviewers saw in this place - maybe I just had an off night? It was 7pm or so on a Sunday night and it was pretty full, only one or two tables open. Unfortunately we were seated by two large tables - one full of yappy kids about 5-10 years old and the other by their parents (smart of them to segregate because man those kids were annoying). It felt like we were forgotten in our corner thanks to these large tables, so service was very poor. I think my biggest problem was that I couldn't flag down a waiter because they had nothing that resembled a uniform. In the hour and a half we had to spend there for our meal I finally figured out which guys were waiting and bussing tables - and there was no consistency in their attire. Some had collared polos of various colors, some had shorts, some had slacks, some had button downs, some had t-shirts. Needless to say, I never got to ask our waiter for refills or issue a complaint on my dish because I could barely tell who was who in the fray. I ordered the pasta special of the night - pasta with a white wine sauce with clams. My friend ordered a pizza. It took an absurd amount of time to get his pizza, and then another 5 minutes before my dish came. I got a pile of pasta with a scant amount of sauce and six tiny clams, served with a side of cold italian bread overly saturated in olive oil, spices, and doused in coarse sea salt. This cost me 16 dollars. I wanted to ask for a side of marinara to give the dish some flavor, but could never catch our waiter until he finally came to ask if we wanted dessert. I asked for a side of marinara, a box for the rest of the pizza, and the check. He came back with everything, but the side of sauce was a cold plastic cup of overly sweet tomato sauce. I finally just ate the clams after having picked at the pasta slowly while I waited for sauce. When he came back to pick up the check I informed him of the cold sauce and he looked confused and asked if I wanted it heated - I just said forget it and we paid and left. I can't even say it was that he was mistaken in thinking we wanted the sauce to go with the pizza, because he gave it to us without a lid and not suitable for taking out. Over priced, bad service, mediocre food - I would never suggest this place to anyone.

We found this little gem on our way to Atlanta from Florida. Nice selection of draft beer on tap, great, great food, and exceptionally nice(and fast) service! We will make our way here again when passing through! Pizzas and salads where amazing!
(4)Jody B.
Great, Great, Great Lasagna! Good atmosphere! Have eaten here several times! Pizza dough was a little undercooked last couple of times, but will try again as they seam to be passionate and hard working!
(4)Meg L.
Best pasta in town, without a doubt, arguably the best pizza. Love the price for lunch where you can get a fully belly for under $15. Locally owned and with a great beer selection on tap. Family friendly, some out door seating and a fun atmosphere. Love it!
(5)C C.
This is the best pizza in Montgomery, hands down. Very fresh and delicious. I really enjoy it and it's great because there are so few good restaurants in this town. Wish they would get the Boylan's root beer back though.
(4)Linsey C.
This place is cute, good beers on tap and nice service though the antipasti platter is a bit odd. Eggplant is soaking in EVOO. Gross. There are enough olives for an army but only three slices of bread. Ordered the vegetarian pizza with prosciutto which was thrown on as an after thought and was cold. Also the pizza had a lot to be desired with flavor, it was very bland with too much mozzarella cheese which made the thin crust not crisp but droopy. Good crowd but flavor needs improvement. Also..... NO HOT SAUCE!!! Really???!! It's a pizza place!!!!
(3)Tra S.
Yum! went there for lunch today, hubby and I shared a Salad Fitzgerald and a Margherita pizza. The salad was huge and delish, loaded with mushrooms and peppers :) Pizza was also yummy- fresh ingredients, the chopped grape tomatoes on top were perfect.
(4)Darren R.
Quality place. Everything is good
(4)Bryan M.
Brought my dad for lunch! Got a margherita pizza, yumm-oh! My dad got the pasta special: shrimp linguine in a lemon sauce. He really liked it. A great local choice for pizza.
(5)Leia K.
Pizza is sooo good! We got the caprese salad (yum-o) and the funghi (sp) pizza. It had mushrooms, fennel sausage, caramelized onions, mozzarella and ricotta cheese. I'll be dreaming about this place for a while and wishing there is one in my home town in GA!!
(5)David T.
Best thin crust pizza in Montgomery. Lots of variety on their specialty pies or you can build your own pizza. Wednsday is half off wine, Sunday half off draft beer. Weekly pasta specials that are always changing. Lasagna is good as well. Sandwhiches are ok but not the star here. Friendly staff.
(5)Matt A.
Formally Sal's Pizzeria. Great local joint for a slice. It is somewhat hidden due to being on the backside of the building, but you'll be glad you stopped by. Great for a date, a business lunch, or just because you want a great slice of pizza. One of the three best local places to eat pizza! I recommend anything with white sauce, they know how to make it.
(4)Derrick H.
Went here last night with a few classmates. The food was fantastic. I wasn't in the mood for pizza but this is a nice change from the typical Papa John's or Pizza Hut. I had a calzone pizza there, it was fantastic. The other guys got pizzas and a lasagna. It was very good food. Its a small restaurant, I don't know if you can call and make reservations but you may want to try if you ever come this way.
(5)Ken And Stephanie P.
Great upscale pizza experience. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere. Reasonable lunch specials. Good selection of beers.
(4)Derek E.
Delicious tasting pizza! Had both the Regina and 5 Meat pizzas. Preferred the 5 Meat (so good) but both yummy. Great toppings, and crust had the perfect softness and texture. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.
(5)Chris J.
Sorry, but I don't see what all the hype is about. The taste and texture just didn't do it for me.
(2)Jim O.
Great menu of pizzas, italian dishes and beer. Pizza tastes homemade and is unique to Montgomery. Staff couldn't be nicer. Huge TV over the bar if you want to watch games. Everything is very fresh and I will definitely be back!
(4)Robert P.
If you like thin crust pizza - somewhat "real" Italian style, this is your place. If you don't like thin crust, innovations like white sauce pizza, or non-standard ingredients like fennel, probably not the place for you. Kind of eclectic, different place - decent selection of beers. Really a nice change of pace for a pizza place. Somewhat like Tomatinos, but I would say better.
(5)Mark A.
Great pizza, the best lasagna in town, and draft beer. Excellent service. It's also very kid friendly and the staff is quite patient with the little ones.
(5)Jesse A.
The Italian chef makes everything from scratch daily. There is not another place in Montgomery that makes pizza like this....place even has stromboli. If you appreciate authentic, hand made/tossed pizza you have to visit. A great selection of draft beer on tap as well.
(5)Melissa T.
Midtown pizza is not bad but I wouldn't say it's my first choice to grab a slice in town. It is a nice little place to grab lunch with friends. The atmosphere is casual and social. The pizza's are thin crusted and toppings are always fresh. They do have a diverse selection of pies, I really like the combinations they have.
(4)Luke L.
always have a great experience here. a different style of pizza from what Tomatino's offers, which is great (because both are wonderful and we're lucky to have them both in Montgomery). add in a great selection of draft beer, and it's a winner. definitely worth a night out.
(5)Anne W.
This was an excellent pizza place! My husband and I were driving through Montgomery and stopped at Midtown (which we chose because it had good yelp reviews). It was towards the back of the shopping area. We came at a very early hour (probably around 5 on a Tuesday) so it was pretty empty but that was great for us. We ordered a small vegetarian pizza and Greek salad to split and my husband got a beer. This was a perfect amount of food for 2 of us. The pizza was great -- thinner crust but loaded with toppings! The salad was large and tasty, and my husband LOVED his beer. He said they had great microbrews on tap and had a hard time deciding which was to get. We highly recommend this place!
(5)Rhett S.
We stopped in for lunch on the way from Houston to Atlanta, having selected it based on other Yelp feedback, and enjoyed a great lunch. I ordered the Funghi e Salsiccia Pizza and my wife had today's special - Sauteed Salmon and Shallots in a lemon-garlic sauce. Her salmon was fresh - not strong like it sometimes can be. My pizza was excellent! The side salads with the balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese were also good. The blue cheese was a very fine crumble, not too big if you're not a blue cheese fan. Would stop again.
(5)Doug O.
Food was good. But, the service was horrible. Guy who waited on me had the personality of a cardboard pizza box.
(2)Ed P.
Good pizza, sandwiches and salads. Locally owned and operated. Bright and cheery. Outside seating available.
(4)Jeremy R.
Finally a place to get a _real_ pizza in Montgomery. The pizza is great, the staff is friendly, and service is fast. They have good lunch specials, but sometimes the staff could promote them better.
(5)
