The south is not really known for pizza. Mellow Mushroom is the epicenter of southern pizza. MM is fantastic at blending craft of preparation with the uniqueness of ingredients to make a wonderful pie. The appetizers are great. I highly recommend the meatballs and the choices of craft beer both local and global are not to be missed. Don't bother trying anything else. This is the pizza you have been looking for.

I want to give this joint 4 or 5 stars, but the table service is always so lacking. We eat here about once a month or so and the waitress or the kitchen always seems to get the order wrong. Case in point was our last trip. I ordered a mega-veggie pizza. I asked the waitress to hold the mushrooms, and add Kalamata olives. Instead, I got the shrooms, and they held both the kalamata and the black olives. My daughter ordered a medium sized pizza, they brought a small. My wife ordered a Greek Salad. The waitress initially brought a garden salad. When we brought the wrong salad to her attention, she brought something g similar to a Greek salad, but missing several items. This has been fairly consistent service for a year now. A new MM is opening up downtown, looks like we'll give it a try.

Hit or miss on the service, but the food is consistently good. Great beer selection with a good rotation of craft/micros. Great for large groups and very kid friendly. As for the service the last time we were there our server never brought our appetizer and our food came out in waves, with the kids food last. I'm not in the restaurant business, but if I was I would make sure my employees delivered what my customers ordered...that's how you make money. On the flip side we have also had terrific service a few times, I guess it just depends on who takes your order.

I had the holy shiitake pie. It was bomb. I had beer. Delicious summer meal. The pizza had great crust- crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. Thin-ish pie with lots of flavor! Love that aioli sauce... There is not better pre-movie meal than at mellow mushroom. Great for large groups - quick service - great food. My friend had a hoagie which was also delicious- fresh roll and toppings:)) highly recommend.

This is a fabulous place to get a pizza if you have food issues, and also if you don't. First, not only can you get delicious a vegan, gluten-free, soy-free pizza here, but if you look at their website they post the ingredients for the crust and the safety measures they take to protect against contamination. Second, you can get daiya. Third, the customer service is amazing. My waitress was one of the best I have ever encountered. I never had a chance to run low on tea and she interrupted her break to check on me, which was totally unnecessary but very sweet. Fourth, the array of toppings available is actually quite impressive. There are several kinds of dairy cheese in addition to daiya; a solid array of veggies including sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, fresh basil, and a couple kinds of peppers; red sauce, bianca, or pesto; and there are meat and vegan proteins as well as some specialties like avocado or teriyaki. I think the only topping I could want that they don't have is roasted garlic. Yay Mellow Mushroom!

Perfect for a family outing or group before or after a movie. Delicious pizzas and salads.

The pizza is delicious, but I called in a pickup order and built my own pizza. Instead of coding it as one of their speciality pizzas and charging accordingly for substitutions, they charged me for every topping, which led to a $44 bill for a large pizza and Caesar salad.

Pizza tastes the same as it does here and in Atlanta. Of course it's overpriced but at least it's tasty?

Go here for the pizza, not the beer. Went here twice with friends, and they were consistently performing poorly in the beer department. One of my friends went 0 for 4 with his beer requests, despite two of them being on their beer specials menu. I ended up going 1 for 3, and a couple of my other friends ordered what was advertised as draft beer, but they just brought bottles to the table. They never had any clue what was and was not available, or at least our servers didn't tell us. The pizza was good, but beyond that, not much else to say.

Brought the family here the other night. The pizza was good and my daughter enjoyed her salad. I thought it was a bit small for the price. I split a medium sized pizza with my son. I went with a specialty half and his was pepperoni. It was obvious that greater than 70% of the pizza was pepperoni and I still paid the price of a full sized specialty pizza which is still too high at ~$21. The family enjoyed the meal and going out, but the bill made me a bit hesitant about returning.

Service was slow, pizza was good. No draft beer as taps were down. Desert was just ok. Heard lots of customers talk about this was the worst Mellow Mushroom they have been to. My fist and last time.

I've been here twice, the first time approximately two years ago, and then again over this 4th of July weekend. Both times I have been very impressed with the food, drink and service. My wife and I had the "Freshie" and the "Mighty Meaty". Both were fantastic. The county has an odd law that does not allow beer on tap, yet it can be sold in bottles. I can't hold that against the restaurant though. Our waitress was wicked helpful and suggested a few good selections. They had live music, but we sat on the patio, so I can't speak to the quality. I'd recommend stopping in.

I had never been to a Mellow Mushroom before, went with some friends - we had a great time! The service was awesome, the pizza came out pretty fast and tasted great (quality toppings), the spinach artichoke dip was the bomb, and the beer selection was OK. They charged $5.25 a pint, and the large pizza was $25 so I can't give it more than a 5/10 on value. They probably had 10 beers on tap or so (some locals), I didn't ask about bottles.

The location is perfect for a meal before or after a movie at the Rave. The atmosphere is very casual. When we first arrived, we were told to pick up some menus and seat ourselves, so we did. The service was pretty attentive and quick. We ordered a chef salad and medium specialty pizza to share. It was a right amount of food for two people. The salad was alright--- light and fresh. But the pizza was excellent; the crust was soft and chewy with a crisp on the bottom. Our pie also came with a generous amount of toppings and cheese, which was very fresh. I think they use the same dough from the pizza for other things on their menu, like the calzones, pretzels, garlic breads, etc. Excited to try them next time!

Ordered the regular enlightened spinach salad. Smallest salad I've ever seen. Not that good either. Brought the wrong salad twice. Tea good. Wings pretty good. Salad looked like they dumped a few pieces of apple in the bottom with two cranberries and a few pecans. Topped that with a handful of spinach. The mellow mushroom in Auburn much better. Salad twice the size and tastes much better. Server was nice, prompt, and attentive. Ate here after a movie. Won't come back.

Took an hour to get all of our food. We waited 25 mins for a table and then 40 mins after being seated, only half our food was delivered, it took another 15 mins for the rest of our food. Service was great, but kitchen is really slow...management needs to address and correct this issue. Probably won't come back.

It is hard to find a pizza place that offers gluten-free, vegan pizza, but Mellow Mushroom has it all! Great gluten-free, vegan pizza with beers and wines too. We came before a movie and had great service along with our great meal. The price is definitely more than other pizza places though. Unfortunately, this isn't a place that we will frequent often. Instead it will be a very special treat on rarely occasions.

Overpriced and over rated are 2 words that come to mind. We had one large pizza, one medium, 2 large salads of mediocre quality, one small without hardly anything on it, 2 diet cokes and 2 beers which were served in glasses a bit larger than shot glasses and with tax and tip it was $92. The price does not match the quality or quantity it should been. The service was good. The pizza crust was good...the rest...eh, nothing to write home about.

We waited and waited for the grand opening as the Mellow Mushroom was one of our favorite eats with our kids. I was disappointed to find the main menu offered nothing for kids. It was only after the waitress pointed out a menu in with the salt and pepper that I found the kids menu nearby. Their menu has been stripped down to the bare minimum. They no longer offer pretzels, Mac & cheese, or apple slices. The decor also leaves a lot to be desired. The new booths are nice and front reception area is vastly improved, but everything interesting has been removed; the planes are gone, the tree is gone; replaced with a painted over mess now resembling an garish yellow and very ugly saguaro. Our pizza was as exciting a the decor and as appealing as the saguaro, complete with overly used Oregano for that oh-so bitter taste we all love and non-seasoned ground beef. I'd say the only redeeming quality the MM has going for them at this point is their sweet service. As for us, we'll be in search of a new family-friendly eatery. Start your yelpin'! LOL

Good food. The staff seemed pleasant, and would check in from time to time. I've been eating at Mellow Mushroom since the only one was in Atlanta (i think) & have always enjoyed them. Some are better than this one, but it is a good A-OK.

In the Mellow Mushroom's defense, I have a favorite pizza place already. But, this is really good pizza. The ingredients taste fresh and the crust is great. The service was excellent, and the prices weren't bad ($27 for a medium pizza, appetizer, drinks for two). Try the artichoke dip--who knew you could pair it with slices of crusty garlic bread? Yum! The location is really convenient, especially if you're going to see a movie, and they do have outdoor seating when the weather's nice. It's a great place for families with children and couples alike. I'd definitely go back.

Lunch Special: A HUGE slice of cheese pizza and a small house salad for $5.00!! You can add ingredients to the pizza for around $1.00 per topping! I added the pesto chicken and mushrooms and my pizza was soooo good. I tried the herb vinagrette dressing and it was pretty much like a balsamic. I really enjoyed the friendly and quick service during my lunch break at the Mellow Shroom!

Came to this Mellow Mushroom in Montgomery today while waiting to go to the Rave next door. VERY disappointed! 3 of us walked into a restaurant that was as cold as a morgue, A new employee was at the bar and not friendly at all:( We expressed immediately how cold it was and he immediately blew us off by saying "yea it is". My 2 friends ordered a draft beer which both were flat. They told the bartender this and he said "Oh yea thats what were hearing about the Yengling??? They were playing very offensive music for a restaurant that had young children there. The song I was most offensive was " closer to God" by Nine Inch Nails saying I want to F$#k u like an animal! Really are u kidding me?? To top it off we paid $9. and some change for 1 beer and a coke. I guess we are used to the Mellow Mushroom in Prattville, Al. that is very family oriented, clean, has an excellent happy hour from 2-6 with 1/2 price apps.w/great service. As us 2 ladies walked out my husband did complain to the acting manager (Michele)about all this and all she did was agree??? We will NEVER go back!!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
