Awesome food, great service, perfect for breakfast/brunch. My biscuits and gravy were awesome but still couldn't overshadow my omelet's decadence

Excellent service and excellent food. I'm writing this, still full from brunch, 5 hours later. I noticed that they had almost every kind of omlette on the menu. I also noticed that they had pulled pork plates for dinner. In a stroke of subjective genius I asked the waitress if the "make your own omelette" included things from other areas of the menu. I asked if they could make me a pulled pork omelette with BBQ sauce. The waitress checked and they agreed to make it. It was amazing and I highly recommend it. I got biscuit and grits with the pulled pork omelette and both were delicious. The BBQ sauce came on the side and was sweet and tangy. The waitress came by the table often to check if we needed anything but not too often. Price is around $10 per meal depending on your order choice for bfast/brunch. Highly recommend for brunch on a budget.

Ate breakfast here and it was great. Eggs and bacon were cooked perfect. Grits and pancakes were excellent as well! I'd definitely recommend eating here if you're in the area. The waitresses were very friendly as well!

Wait time is excessive for what can only be described as mediocre food. An hour and half time for a club sandwich. Being a local establishment is never an excuse for poor service and mediocre food. No need to waste a good amount of your time on forgettable experience.

I always enjoy eating breakfast and lunch here. The service is always great and the food is pretty good as well. It's a nice break from the standard waffle house and ihop routine.

We had breakfast at the whistle stop, egg sandwich bacon biscuit, grits food was good not great but good little overpriced. The real problem was the service our waitress was very nice but the kitchen got the order wrong was extremely slow and trying to check out took another 15 minutes. would not return.

Came here on a Sunday morning, menu was chaotic and the service was was equally chaotic. The food was good, eggs benedict was good and the pancakes were tasty. Don't know if I would come again though, a little overpriced.

Well that was the most tasteless meal I've had in a long time. The lasagna and garlic bread was barely recognizable as food. The bread pudding was not any better. They do have good breakfast but they don't take American Express.

Don't be tricked into ordering their crab meat omelet. I've tasted less fishy canned tuna than their, supposedly, fresh crab and the portion was insanely small by comparison to their other meals. The ticket was $30 for one crab omelette, one sante fe omelette and two cups of coffee. I won't be eating here again, and neither should anyone else.

Went with my family for breakfast. Food was mediocre. Tasty grits, friendly service. We got the bill, and it was $56 for 3 meals, 4 coffees(1 Irish coffee). My dad confronted them on the high tab, and they said my brother had 3 shots of Jameson..when he only had one. They had an attitude about it, to top it off. Be careful of this place trying to rob you. Will never go back.

Found the Whistle Stop Cafe by using the Yelp app! Very quaint restaurant with a historic railroad depot feel. The service was great and the breakfast was delicious! If your in the historic Mobile area off of Dauphin Street, I highly recommend a stop at the Whistle Stop Cafe!

Wonderful breakfast, pleasant staff, laid back atmosphere. The pancakes were the best I've ever had! They were freshly made, amazingly fluffy pillows of joy. My boyfriend got the turkey sausage breakfast sandwich. They gladly substitute turkey sausage in all of their menu items, and it is delish! My boss got the eggs Benedict, and her poached eggs were perfect! All in all a perfect Sunday brunch spot.

Well- this was my first trip and it was not for breakfast like most. I had a lunch date for The Shrimp Basket up the road - but we changed at the last minuet so we could have some veggies, etc. I am known for saying "Eat Dessert 1st" and here I waited until the end - but you shouldn't. "EAT DESSERT 1ST and make it the Banana pudding" The Banana Pudding$2.95 was yummy ( will post pic)..old fashion style like grandma and Minnie from "The Help" would make. But don't get one to share 'Get your Own". The Fried Green Tomatoes (large order $4.95) were yummy ( will post a pic) too. We enjoyed our veggies, etc. The 3 veggie plate is only $5.95. But TAKE NOTE: their web-site is not up-to-date and Tuesday was NOT Chicken and Dumplings special day - and they no longer have the sweet potato casserole or green beans which is what I was going for. :((( -- so call ahead if you are going for a Lunch Special to make sure it is still the right one. They are southern friendly and I will make plans now to go back for their famous B-fast! They have a Sunday Brunch from 8:00am - 5:00pm....so I will be back!!

Salt, salt, salt in every dish to extreme. Not sure what that was in the greens, had a bit of liquid smoke taste. Waitress was nice but couldn't say what was on the chicken salad plate. What? Crab omelette couldn't be made with egg whites because they are made in advance. Beware...crab omelette mixed in advance on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. We want to support local food, but I can't support this.

Went there for Sunday breakfast. Service was fast. Grits were perfectly cooked. Nice for the price.

Great hash browns, eggs cooked exactly the way we requested. The waitress was friendly and attentive without hovering. Will be back next time in town definitely.

Was traveling along I-10 and looking for a good place off the interstate. Found this place on the Internet...my lucky day! We were there for breakfast. Good coffee, eggs taste like eggs, homemade biscuits and gravy, I had the crab omelet which was wonderful!!! Service was great, food was great and would highly recommend!

I've only had breakfast here and we are happy with it. The service is fast and friendly. The food is good and served in generous portions. We like that you can substitute healthier turkey sausage for the regular.

Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy but a well cooked breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast and grits. Hit the spot!
