India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.

Excellent lunch buffet. Not a large buffet, but enough variety to please both my husband and I (vegetarian) and his elderly non vegetarian parents. They made fresh naan for us. It was outstanding! The Rice was perfect (not an easy thing to achieve on a buffet). Friendly, respectful service and clean and organized. The buffet items each had a different flavor, which is too rare on a buffet. They were well spiced, but not too spicy for the parents. We will definitely go back during our next visit to see the folks. Dad even commented that they served the best sweet iced tea that he had tasted in some time. Now that is high praise from him!

Wonderful place. Food portions are large and we always have enough for another meal. The place has been revamped and is a must in Mobile.

Dined here on a Friday night at 630. There was only 1 other table in the restaurant when we walked in. The server was nice, and was very helpful with menu selection since we had never eaten Indian food before. We asked for the meals to be mild since we weren't sure what to expect. When we eat Mexican food, we load it up with hot sauce. Here I guess mild means exactly the opposite. The food was so spicy we had to stop eating after only a few bites. When we got home we spent the rest of the evening making trips to the restroom. We will never eat here again.

Has good lunch buffet but the dinner a la carte menu is way better. The lamb Saag (****1/2 star) is delicious and the Butter chicken is hit or miss but still a (***1/2 star or better) The star of this place are the vegetable samosas (**** stars) and the Garlic Naan (**** stars) All the items are great but the serving size are for one person so eating family style isn't really an option. Service is very friendly but can be slow on the refills but the chef is very attentive and open to comments. Parking lot is small but this is a growing gem in Gulfport.

We were looking a place to eat on our trip and found this Indian restaurant on our route. The menu was a little pricey, but most Indian restaurants I've been to were pretty expensive. The atmosphere was really cold and unwelcoming, and the room was dimly lit. But I'm gonna try to write this review based on the food, or else I would've probably given this place 1 star. I was with 4 other people, and we ordered a total of 4 items. We waited for 30 minutes, and people that ordered before us even received their food. The cook even forgot one of our orders. Now onto the food. I ordered the goat biriyani, which was actually really nice. If you haven't tried it before, it's sorta like fried rice in simple terms. The goat was cooked nice and tasted a lot like beef haha. I like spicy food but even medium got me good. The serving size is pretty large and I had to get a take out box. Overall, everything worked with the dish and you should definitely try it. Other than the wait, atmosphere, and poor customer service, this is an amazing neighborhood gem.

Thank God for this place being here for years and years in a place like Mobile, AL where you don't have a lot of options other than Ruby Tuesdays, TGIF's, and American Cafe!!! I just ate at three Indian places in Seattle during September, one of which was on the Microsoft side of town where all of the Indian programmers go to eat their buffet during lunch break. That place was packed out and was NOT as good as Delhi Palace! It had an extremely comparable atmosphere and food selection. It was not as good. The other Indian restaurant was about the same - which was pretty good. The other restaurant was a little better in ways but still comparable. Getting back to Delhi Palace (Cuisine of India) Over the years there have been some staff/chef changes, and it is a homier rustic atmosphere, but it is a $7/8 buffet. I've experienced a couple of times that weren't as good as others but this restaurant has given me some of the best lunches and dinners of my life. The sad thing is no one ever gives it a chance in Mobile because they're too busy watching American Idol, eating Olive Garden, and putting roll tide stickers on their Chevy Z71's. I've heard wayyy to many people not even want to try it because "it's weird" and "foreign", typical rednecks. If people supported it a little more they could probably invest more time, energy, money, and enthusiasm into the restaurant. Other than that rant, they usually have great buffet items with plenty of chicken curry, lamb, vegetables in rich yogurt sauces, basmati rice, and fresh salad items and not to forget the garlic naan (flat)bread which is the greatest bread I've ever had. Anyway, if you're around Mobile try it (if you don't drive a Z71 with an Auburn sticker and three pairs of "Costa Del Mar signature fishing glasses" and a closet full of Guy Harvey teeshirts)!

The chicken tikka masala left a lot to be desired: leaves a weird after-taste, doesn't include any veggies, and the chicken is poor quality. If you get take-out, order an extra side of rice. The portion was insanely small. And finally (most offensively, I might add) the garlic naan was not naan. They rubbed garlic on pita bread and baked it. #FAIL

First of all, let me just get this out of the way.....I just moved to Mobile, and will be here for the next 5 years, at least, and was expecting to not find much in regards to ethnic foods. I almost broke out my victory/celebration dance (which I have never had such a moment where it was called for yet) when I saw that there were a few ethnic restaurants to choose from, especially Indian. I expect to find a few Chinese restaurants everywhere, maybe even Japanese, but Indian is something special. I was absolutely dying to try it out. I went around 2 pm on a weekday. I walked in salivating like Pavlov's dogs. There was absolutely nobody in there, other than the workers. I walked up to one of them and asked if I could order off the menu (they have a lunch buffet). The worker said that she was going to ask. She yelled in the kitchen and apparently was told that no menu orders are allowed over lunch. I was SO disappointed. I left without any food. The next day, I called around 8:30 pm to put in an order. The person who answered the phone said that they were not taking any carry out orders due to them being overwhelmed by the amount of pending orders. I was just beginning to think that it was not meant to be. I was also getting very frustrated, but, as with every other frustrating thing, I just keep telling myself......This is the south (please, no offense to anybody). One day, I was craving Indian food so furiously that I had to give in and go over lunch and get the buffet. It was quite busy. But the thing that spoke volumes to me was that a good majority of the patrons were Indian. The fact that this is the only Indian restaurant around aside, usually when Indian people eat at an Indian restaurant (or Korean at a Korean restaurant, Italian at an Italian restaurant, etc.) it is a pretty good indication that the food is at least decent. So, I got a to go box and filled it up, but not after having to stand in a pretty long line. Also, the kitchen was having a pretty difficult time keeping up with the volume of business. I filled my box with basmati rice, butter chicken, saag paneer, vegetable korma, and naan (which I had to wait because the kitchen couldn't keep the buffet stocked). I took it home and ate it and was satisfied. The vegetable korma and the butter chicken was good (for a city that has no other Indian restaurants). The saag paneer was a bit of a disappointment. The paneer itself was flavorless and quite rubbery. However, I'll have to add that good paneer is very hard to find. The naan was as good as any. I really should not be giving 4 stars, but I am giving this place loads of credit for even existing. If I ever get to order off the menu, and it turns out to be good, I might just have to break out the celebration dance because it will have made my move to Mobile just a little bit less painful. Would I go back? Well, I just phones in an order and am on my way out the door to go pick it up right now! I am becoming more of a fan of this city as each day passes though.

I had a terrible experience here today. It took 20 minutes to order mediocre-at-best food. My water wasn't refilled ever, until I asked. When the food arrived, I was hoping that it would at least be decent, but alas, I was wrong. Should've kinda gotten that vibe seeing as I was in Mobile, and there was literally one other party of probably 8. The server refused to take my order until all of their food was prepared and put on the table. I ordered the bengan bharta, and the aloo gobi along with an order of naan. I asked for my food to be prepared with a heavy amount of spice. When I tasted my food it was bland, tasteless, and there was almost NO spice to be found. When I come back to Mobile, I think I'll find something else instead of Indian food. Unfortunately, there are literally zero veg-friendly restaurants to be found according to the internet.

They deserve four stars for their food at least if the first impression leaves you unimpressed. We first discovered this restaurant last year while being stucked in Al for a week due to work and the BRIYANI especially is to die for.I can safely say that it taste like the briyani I am used to back home in Singapore.(Note: I can be pretty fussy where my briyani is concerned) Recently while in Al,for another job,we made sure we returned to the place but since it was lunchtime,we decided to give the buffet a try.Their fried dhal was really good but I would have stick to the ala carte menu and Briyani if there is to be another time. While at it,do try their Masala Chai too,at one dollar for a cuppa you can never go wrong.

Just OK....not really GOOD Indian food - if you've had good Indian food - you quickly realize this is not it - but its not BAD. I give them three stars instead of two for having the gonads to open an Indian restuarant in Mobile in the first place. With the exception of a limited number of foodies like me - most people in Mobile would rather stand in line to get into a new chain restuarant than venturing out and trying something a little different. SO SAD!! So - I actually eat here a good bit - because if you like Indian food (and I do) - where else am I going to get it anywhere CLOSE to Mobile?

This is the place that started my love for Indian food. The food is very good. I love their paneer masala and their naan is great.

I'm just so grateful this place exists in Mobile, AL and that it's just around the corner from us on Airport Blvd. The lunchtime buffet is good, providing both meat and vegetarian choices, spicy and mild dishes, and I believe they go both Saturday and Sunday. Ordering off the menu gets you a slightly higher level of freshness and quality (not to say that the buffet is not delicious, because it is). You can request your level of spicy-ness for each dish. Our favorite things to order for dinner are the navratan korma (vegetable korma), their briyani rice dishes, any of their chicken curries, and we always order naan bread. Their freshly made garlic naan and also the kulcha naan (I think that's the name - it's the one stuffed with potatoes, onion, etc.) are just melt-your-heart good. Total comfort food. YUM! I will say I think they are better at making the complex, saucy dishes that go over rice than they are at making the grilled meat tandori dishes, but that could be my personal taste. If you are in town and like ethnic cuisine, please go in and check them out. They are an oasis of Indian in Mobile, AL and we want them to stay around!

From the beginning of our experience, i knew is was not going to be delightful. We did not get a warm welcoming at all from this place. You would think the manager would have some type of inviting qualities to your establishment. The have an expansive menu upon first look. It took three tries to get something that was on the menu. The server would take my order, then come back stating "we don't have that, we are in the process of changing the menu." You would think they would tell you before ordering what is/isn't on the menu. We had the chicken dishes. Both dished came back dry and bland. I was not impressed. I wanted to try something different in Mobile, so I went on Yelp! reviews. Maybe this place got good reviews because some people went to the buffet where they had more choices of their food selection. Would i try this place again? Probably not.

Try their goat biriyani, it's amazing! The masala chai too. The owner is a very generous and fun Bangladeshi guy. One of the best Bangladeshi/Indian buffet I've had in USA

From lacking service. To rude atmosphere...All of that was tolerable. Coming home with Food Poisoning..Lets just say This place left a very BAD taste in my mouth....Never eating here again!!

Very erratic menu, but I've eaten there probably 100 times. Depends on who owns it, I've been through about five different owners. Nice lunch buffet.

Hey, it's mobile. I'm just happy to have a Saturday buffet place, the fact that it's Indian is a plus. I'm no Indian cuisine expert, but I like this place and so do a lot of people it seems, because they're streaming in quite regularly. Some coworkers from England (one is Pakistani) will be visiting for a few months, and I'm curious to see what they think of it...I'll keep y'all posted.

Great food and new management. Resturant updated and much nicer. Comming back! Nothing left.

This has been an underrated jewel for years in Mobile. The biggest issue I had in the old days was the atmosphere...it's been recently updated with the new paint scheme and some better chairs. MUCH BETTER SCENE. The food is always the star here. Killer tandoori chicken, naan, and the best array of vegetable dishes (can't even tell what they are) in the city. Could be the best ethic place in Lower Alabama.
(4)Krishna P.
If you like to taste Indian food in or near mobile this place is good. The buffet is well priced for the number of items and the taste. We moved from NYC and had been many restaurants (Indian), I would say this place may not be the best but you will enjoy the food. Coming to ambience it's OK.

Stopped here for dinner while on the road. Service was great, food was cheap, and the combination meat plate was solid. The combination platters had a bunch of different dishes you can try and the order comes with a lot of food! You will probably have leftovers. I would hit this up on the reg if I lived in Mobile.

Great food! I've been a few times and the lunch buffet is nice as well. The service is a lot better and I hope they continue to do well!

Despite some of the hit-or-miss reviews on here, I really like Cuisine of India. Mind you, I've never ordered off the menu because I always stop in for the lunch buffet, but I've never been disappointed. As others have commented, the buffet is relatively small (in comparison to typical Chinese buffets or *cringe* a Golden-Corral-type place), but the food doesn't have the lack-luster blandness of food prepared in mass quantities. The biryani is nice and spicy (I definitely prefer the chicken over the goat, but that's just me), the saag paneer is delicious eaten with hot naan, and their chicken tikka masala over basmati rice is the epitome of Indian comfort food. I also really enjoy their kheer--a cool, sweet treat to finish the meal. Not a huge fan of their pakoras, as they tend to get a little chewy out on the buffet, but I'm sure they'd be much better served fresh. The real draw of Cuisine of India is that the food is consistent in quality--and for an Indian buffet in Mobile, that's very nearly a miracle. Regarding the staff, I've never had any complaints. The same 3 or 4 ladies work the lunch shift, and they're always friendly and attentive. But really, it's a buffet...as long as they keep drinks refilled and clear the table at the end of the meal, they've pretty much done their job. If you're curious, give it a shot around lunch time. Also, like them on Facebook for a 10% discount. Every little bit helps, right?

First of all, I have never eaten at a restaurant where I feel like I am on a hidden camera show. Did John Quiñones pop out with his 'What Would You Do' cameras? No. Did Gordon Ramsay run out screaming obscenities and vowing to fix the mess? No. Please make a 0 stars rating for situations like this. I will say that the food was passable, but had an odd aftertaste which I believe is from an improperly serviced gas stove. However, the service horror show was the reason that I will never go to this restaurant again. Some of the service gems ranked from least to most offensive: 1. Being served a mixed drink with no ice, full of alcohol that is of unknown origin and most certainly not what you ordered. 2. Watching your server roll your eyes and make comments under her breath at the manager while standing at our table. 3. Listening to server complain about how this is the only job she could get and how much she hates working there. 4. Being told to spell everything that we ordered because the server did not know anything on the menu. 5. Overhearing your server telling the table behind you to use your straw to drink from the glasses because she isn't sure about the dishwasher (we DID NOT get this warning and had been there for 45 min). 6. Listening to your server make derogatory comments about the lovely people of India and how they eat. Absolutely unacceptable. First course of action, fire this server.

I was excited to find an Indian restaurant have being in mobile for less than 24 hours. Upon tasting the Tandoori Chicken, i knew I found a great Lunch buffet that would satisfy my Indian fix whenever I come to town. The naan was fresh, a wide variety of buffet items were available and the desserts and mango lassi were a perfect addition to a great lunch. Tip: like them on facebook to save 10% on you bill!!
