Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Momma and I came and here really enjoyed the food. The quesadillas were really disappointing, so I don't recommend, but the burrito loco was really good.

I was excited to try this restaurant after great reviews from a friend, and I'm sad to say I'm disappointed after eating here tonight. While the food was particularly good, our waitress really missed the mark. She embarrassed my friend when she ordered a margarita insinuating her ID was fake (we are from Florida and attend school here so it's out of state) and forced her to smile with a mouth full of chips and salsa. We laughed that off and hoped things would get better... but it continued on a downward slope. My order was wrong (I asked for rice and beans with my meal and only a quesadilla came) and when I addressed it my waitress mumbled something and walked away. Unsure of what she said, I started eating the quesadilla in front of me when she came back and asked why I was eating it and took it away from me when she brought another plate. I will definitely try this place again. I think it could've just been an off night. I loved the atmosphere and the live music was on point.

I've been to this restaurant 3 times in the past two weeks and this will be my last. Every table we've been sat at has been filthy and we've had to ask that the table be cleaned. Service has been slow, and in two of the three visits, they have forgotten the margarita salt on my margarita. This restaurant has such potential, it's a shame that management seems not care.

I enjoy visiting this particular San Miquels, especially on cooler evenings. They have an outside dining area that's pretty cool. The food is okay. Typical Mexican chain food, but I think there salsa and cheese dip is of the higher quality! The bar has a wide selection of beverages to include happy hour specials throughout the week. The service is always fast and courteous. I would recommend!

The service was HORRIBLE and SLOW. I didn't even eat the food because I couldn't get pass the dirty cup. If you're a germaphobe then you might not want to eat here.

Excellent food and great service. The atmosphere is one of my favorite attributes and the margaritas are refreshing. I ordered the Shrimp Chimichanga and a Tamarind Margarita. The chimichanga was pretty good and the margarita was very different, but in a very, very good way.

Always a winner! The servers are very friendly. The service isn't the fastest but having lived on the Mexican Border for many years, that is buisness as usual. I really enjoy the food and drinks.

I got chicken and enchiladas with the mole sauce. The chicken and the enchiladas were good but the mole sauce need a little more seasoning. The tamales tasted ok

A step up from regular Mexican restaurants, but still cost the same! Has a steak chimichanga with a side of beans and queso! Awesome! Only negative was the salsa was a lil bland.

We get the fajitas every Wednesday for fajita night. Servers are great here. One of my favorites.

Gringo food. Coming from Phoenix, AZ where the Mexican food is authentic, this is a far cry.

My family loves going out to eat here on a regular basis. The servers know us and know our order by heart. We get the Enchilada plate, grilled steak taco salad and guacamole soft taco for the little one. We've never had a problem with friendliness, cleanliness or wait time. The bathrooms are always well stocked and clean, and they have the full doors on the stalls which we like, since we have a small child. I took one star away because sometimes when we order margaritas they seem to be lacking in the taste department. I would say we go here 2 or 3 times a month, usually on the weekends.

This place comes off more as 'chain' than 'authentic', but it's still pretty ok. Service really is hit or miss; sometimes quick, sometimes unreasonably slow (which you never know if it' s the kitchen or the waitstaff's fault). The food is pretty standard, but good to fulfill your craving for meltedcheesemeatandchips kind of thing. Try the sampler platter for your entree, the steak nachos part of it is pretty darn tasty. Beware the chorizo burrito; I heard it's solid chorizo, about a pound of it. I do really like the decor; it's just interesting to people watch and set your eyes on the patio-like setting, indoors and out. Some nights they do have a mariachi band wandering around (that sorry to say could use a little more practice- doh!). The tables are topped in Mexican tile, so beware your margaritas and diet cokes.... drinks are wobbly on the tabletop. All in all: Pros: tasty mexican food, interesting decor Cons: service is hit or miss

I had a many a bad date at this place in my early twenties(ICK!) .. food isn't bad.. and ( as I don't really care for the overly spicy) the salsa is really good and fresh.

Overall above-average Mexican restaurant. Extensive menu options, good food (tasted fresh), not greasy, clean restaurant and bathrooms. Large bar area. Nice outdoor patio area. Really appreciated the nicer-than-normal decor and setup inside. Service was good. And vegetarian options!

We love San Miguel for its cheese dip and margaritas. The ambiance and outdoor patio are great as well. Stay away from the fajitas.

My ratings rules: One star for courteous/polite staff. One star for fresh/tasty food. One star for properly labeled food (if applicable)/correct orders. One star for speedy food delivery and availability of wait staff. One star for cleanliness. Cost: Averages $8-$14 a plate. Special perks: They offer an extensive list of tequilas. We visited this restaurant just yesterday for the first time. It has a very interesting architecture, and we've made a mental note each time we passed it, for quite sometime, to try them out. The building is beautiful and lends an authentic atmosphere. The problems though were with the service, which began the moment we entered. We arrived during a time that it wasn't busy at all, right at 3:30 p.m. Immediately we were impressed with the number of staff floating about, but It took nearly fifteen minutes before anyone even noticed that we wished to be seated. Wait staff passed by us a number of times, without a word or "she'll be with you in a moment," so they lose a star for lack of courtesy. It was another twenty minutes before the waitress actually took our food order. When it came, the order was correct and the food was decent enough, but I wouldn't say it was any more impressive than that of El Toro. I also wouldn't call it fresh and tasty, but it wasn't bad either. The building though was clean, as was the bathroom, which has closet-like stalls; I like those very much. Ratings: They lose one star for courtesy, earn one star for food, earn one for the correct orders, lose one for staff availability and earn one for cleanliness. All of that said though, We will try them again. Nearly everything deserves a second chance and we are willing to give them that. I would like to say that the problems we experienced were due to them being either very busy or understaffed, but sadly I cannot. They were definitely well staffed and not busy at all. Hopefully next time they'll be a bit more attentive.
