Been wanting to come to this place for the past 3 years I've come to Mobile for Thanksgiving. Finally made it in on Thanksgiving morning for breakfast with my mom. The old country store was very cozy and inviting. I loved how they made it appear as a classic, old country store. My mom was drawn and immediately went into shopping mode. I had to pull her away because I was starving at this point. The restaurant side was just as cozy. The old, warm country feeling was very inviting. My mom started to reminisce with the surroundings of when she was a kid growing up in Mobile, mentioning the butane lamps on the table tops that she used as a kid because her neighborhood didn't have power yet. Our server, Crystal B., was very polite and informative. She helped us every step of the way in ordering our breakfast as newbies. Excellent service! I ordered the egg and cheese sliders to stay on a healthy path, and considering I'm a lacto-ovo. The hash brown casserole was absolutely awesome!! My mom ordered something that I cannot remember the name of, but it had smokehouse sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy (she opted out on the included eggs, because she's not a fan). Everything was absolutely delicious! The coffee was very good as well. After our meal, we wanted to go back to the old country store to browse, but by then the place was packed!! Glad I was finally able to eat here. What an experience that I cannot wait to have again!

This is our occasional breakfast place when we are running around on Saturday mornings, really only because it's our only option besides fast food. And it's hard to do low cal/low carb at a fast food place. CB does have a 'low carb' menu, I'll give them that (though no nutritional info on their website, so it's hard to tell how truthful they are). Anyway, service is hit or miss; sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. I do like the ambiance and the store, but that's about it. Breakfast is always just mediocre. The coffee is almost always weak. We would just run home and make ourselves a much, much better breakfast, but sometimes you just want to sit down and be served a nice meal and not have to deal with the dishes, aimiright? Why is there not a nice cafe in West Mobile that does breakfast? Sure we could drive all the way over to Spot of Tea, the Tiny Diny, etc; but that would be way out of our way. Anyone? Anyone?

The Farmers decided this year to take a break from all the cooking and preparing a big dinner for Thanksgiving Day due to the lack of participation and everyone either vacationing or working. The decision where to eat Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day was between Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral, so the decision was made and Cracker Barrel was the winner for the day. Mr. Farmer and his spouse Teresa visited the Cracker Barrel Restaurant located at 845 Schillenger Road in west Mobile, the Cracker Barrel Restaurant was one of many restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day 11/22/12. The Farmer family pulled into the Cracker Barrel Restaurant parking lot around 10:50AM to find most of the parking spots filled but lucked up as someone was backing up to leave the restaurant. Mr. Farmer quickly turned into the parking spot and the Farmer couple, got out of the car, locked the doors, and went inside the Cracker Barrel to place their name on the waiting list. The wait wasn't as long as expected because just in 20 minutes and the Farmer couple was being seated at a table for four just in case two relatives of the Farmers decided to show up. As soon as Mr. Farmer and his wife Teresa were seated the couple was greeted by a waitress to take their order from the menu. The decision of what both of the couple were going to order was easy and of course they ordered off the Thankgiving Menu . The Thanksgiving Day In Store Meal came complete with turkey n' dressing meal complete with baked ham, sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish, your choice of vegetable, a beverage*, and made-from-scratch biscuits or corn muffins, as well as a tasty slice of Pumpkin Pecan Streusel pie for dessert for an 8.99 Adult plate. crackerbarrel.com/restau… After ordering the Thanksgiving Day In-Store Meal off the Cracker Barrel Restaurant menu the waitress returned with an ice tea for Mr. Farmer and a coke for Mrs. Farmer. While the Farmer couple waited on their Thanksgiving Turkey meal to be served to their table they enjoyed the conversation, volume and selection of music being played, and the friendliness of the employees. Mr. and Mrs. Farmer wait for their Thanksgiving Day food to be served to their table took about five minutes to be delivered. The two slices of Turkey and generous serving of dressing was prefect, cranberry relish pleasant tasting, medium piece of sliced baked ham wonderful, sweet potato casserole yummy, biscuits good and hot, large piece of Pumpkin pie desert was good, the iced tea sweeten just right, Coke a Cola had good taste. After dining in at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant located at 845 Schillenger Road in west Mobile on Thanksgiving Day, the Farmer family would give Cracker Barrel a review rating of 5*****stars for service, taste of drinks, food quality to include freshness, serving size, and taste, friendliness of the employees, volume and selection of music being played, size of parking lot, waitress promptness, and management interaction. 845-A Schillinger Road South Mobile, AL 36695-8910 Schillinger Road & Old Government St Download the iPhone App® or Android App™ by clicking on the Cracker Barrel link below. crackerbarrel.com/locati… crackerbarrel.com shop.crackerbarrel.com crackerbarrel.com/music/… crackerbarrel.com/hobbies crackerbarrel.com/family… shop.crackerbarrel.com Shop foursquare.com/farmerdw02 urbanspoon.com/u/profile… examiner.com/review/schi… foursquare.com/v/cracker…
