Banzai is where my love for sushi began and is still my first choice for sushi. No, it isn't nostalgia bringing me back time and again. Banzai is amazing. Spicy Tuna Special Roll was an all-time favorite roll last time I went.

Banzai is Mobile's most authentic sushi restaurant. There is only 2 staff, from what I can see, consisting of a husband and wife. Very nice couple. The food is good. Banzai will offer more traditional Japanese dishes you will probably not see anywhere else in Mobile. It is a true mom & pop shop. They open and close whenever they feel like it. The space is also very small. A packed house is about 4-5 tables. So be prepared to wait in the weekend. Definitely a must try place in Mobile.

Best sushi I've ever had. Every time I try sushi at a different place it never compares to this lovely little place. It's a family owned restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service is wonderful and the food is even better. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

This would be the only place to get real sushi. The owner is japanese so it's about as authentic as it gets. I don't trust a non Japanese guy rolling my sushi. Anyways, their business hours are very odd. There's no notice as to when they're open or close. You gotta be pretty lucky that day if they are open. The capacity is about 20 people.. it is a very tiny place and very compacted but it's well worth it. I recommend calling before you come just to see if they're open.

I would give 0 star if it is possible. Would this place survive outside of the deep south? NO. If you think sushi is bad, try their ramen. You will be speechless when you see grocery store $0.30/pack instant ramen served in front of you. If you don't know what real Japanese food is, Mobile is not the place to explore. What am I basing my review on? I've lived and had sushi countless times in Japan and Los Angeles. Oh and yeah, I'm Japanese. If you want Japanese food, drive to Atlanta and go to Umezono. *Decor = bad *Service = ok *Food = way below average

This is my favorite place in Mobile to get delicious, fresh, simple sushi rolls at a great price. The environment is cozy and intimate (four booths and sushi bar seating) and the business is family owned and operated. I have been going here for YEARS and have never been disappointed. At times, the service is a bit slow but the food is always delicious. I love their vegetable tempura appetizer, seaweed salad and miso soup. For my sushi order, I am in love with their dynamite roll, spicy SPICY tuna roll and crawfish tempura roll. Usually when I go to any other sushi restaurant I solely order sashimi because in my experience I am almost always disappointed with any roll when compared to what I get at Banzai (in quality, taste and price). Yummy!!!

When i use to live in mobile i would always go to this place for my sushi fix. Its a small quaint place with about 10 tables i believe. Not very good for big groups but they do serve up some of the best sushi in mobile. You always have to check to see if they are open before going. Sometimes they are closed because they like going back to japan for vacations often. The product he uses are top notch for the area. Fish never smell or taste funny. Hard to find place but if you can find it, they won't disappoint you
