This particular Waffle House was the first I've ever been to. The USLI Hawaii Team I'm a part of decided to eat here the first night we got into Alabama. It was rather late after 10, so Waffle House wasn't packed at all. We're a group of 7. The booths there weren't very big, so we had to do four on one table and two on another (one of our members was still coming in to AL). Our waitress was SO nice. She looked about my age, skinny (super jelly), tattoos, piercings, and an AWESOME haircut (I wish I could rock those kinds of cuts). I'm pretty sure she knew we weren't from AL. She was patient with us when we initially didn't know what we wanted to order. Once we got our food. I was in HEAVEN. Everything on their menu (even burgers) comes with hash browns. I was skeptical because I've never really ate good hash browns before. They were always too soft for me. The ones we got were delicious. The hash brown, how would you say, patty(?) was on the thinner side and the potatoes were crisp on the outside. YUM! My friend and I both ordered the Bacon Egg Cheese Texas Melts with hash browns. The melts were even more amazing. I don't know if the chef we had was just great or because we were the only ones there, but OMG the food was so good. AND it was SOOOOO cheap. Our whole meal was under $6. The food was so good and our waitress was so nice we ended up leaving a really hefty tip. If I go to Bama again, I'm definitely going back to this Waffle House (:

Late night visits to the Waffle House are always an experience. This one fares no better. Food was greasy and eatable. Service fast and friendly

Waffle House is not my favorite place to visit because of the tiny space and I prefer not watching how my meals are prepared. However, I do enjoy my food most of the time when I'm here. I always get the All-Star Special for breakfast. Sometimes the waffle turns out good, sometimes it doesn't. It depends on who makes it, I guess. Yesterday I had dinner at WH for the first time and decided to order something different. I got the pork chop dinner, which I liked. I was pretty full by the time I finished everything on the plate. Didn't care for the salad though... I didn't even know WH served salad. My hashbrown was cooked the way I liked: crispy top! Everything was greasy, but I kinda like indulging in greasy food occasionally. If you hate greasy food, I think you should probably avoid WH.

1st time I've ever been to a Waffle House. Ordered a Pecan WAFFLE w/ a side of sausage. Well, I've had better waffles, was not very impressed. You figure if waffles are their signature dish, than they should be spectacular, right ? I feel my waffle lacked any hint of flavor, had a very limp & soggy texture also. Coffee was also extremely weak. Maybe I'd do an egg breakfast if I ever came back to another Waffle House. But honestly, I'm not in any rush to head back to one.

I was horrified when my waitress continued coughing throughout my entire time there. The manager should have sent this sick employee home. The lack of judgment and leadership form the manager makes me wonder what other health impactors are overlooked at this location. Based on this bad experience I will not return to this waffle house.

This particular Waffle House sits off Madison Boulevard near the Motel 6. The restaurant sign goes high into the sky like a beacon welcoming hungry customers for breakfast. As you enter Waffle House they shout (literally) "good morning" to you. If you're claustrophobic then this is probably not the restaurant for you. Waffle House is a tiny restaurant. The tables are embarrassingly close to each other. If you're at the counter then you'll be elbow to elbow with your neighbor. Comfort is not one of Waffle House's great features. The menu on the other hand is actually quite good. The menu is large and the prices are fair. A large breakfast for around $10 is very doable at Waffle House. Waffle House's menu allows diners to customize their own breakfast. Being a single diner I ended up at the counter. The combination of noise from the grill, country music being played at concert volume, and my inability to discern some Alabama accents made communication with my server virtually impossible. I meant to order grits with my meal but somehow I ended up with hash browns. However, I take full responsibility for that. My meal consisted of two eggs, country ham, and hash browns. It was a palatable meal but certainly not a good one. The eggs, meat, and vegetables were very much lacking seasoning. Most of us with an electric flat top grill could probably make a better breakfast. The coffee at my visit tasted horrible. If all you need is a quick and inexpensive breakfast then Waffle House might suit you. However, if you'd like to be comfortable and enjoy a flavorful breakfast then I'd definitely look elsewhere.

Waffles were soggy and not good at all. The steak melt I had was pretty good and the portions were fine for the price. Just so sad that its called waffle house but waffles were aweful!
