Some items are a hit and some are a miss due to ingredient sourcing I believe. We had the seafood chow mein with the noodles fried but it was not good at all because they did not use the correct noodle for it. The egg plant hot pot was savory and delicious. The steamed sea bass was excellent. Best item of the night. Fried wonton were a pass item and the string beans were good. This is a pretty great Cantonese food spot for where we were. They also served us fried wonton skins as an appetizer. The hot and sour soup, which I did not try was good said our party. More like 3 and a half for the great steamed fish!

Singapore noodles were actually pretty good and service was prompt and friendly. Could use a facelift for sure, but especially for the area I'd recommend it.

My Wonton Soup may have been the best wonton soup I've ever had in my life. My wife and I split a dinner special, and I added a cup of soup. This was more than enough food for us. Our total bill for this, plus two Hot Teas, was $20.98. I give Tai Pan a three and a half, overall. They're a little above the average Chinese place, but not the best in the Huntsville area.

This is the only place I come to for my Chinese fix. I always order the large Hot & Sour Soup, Hot & Spicy fried fish, Fried Rice, and Beef Lo Mein. Large Hot & Sour Soup supplies about 4 servings and has a great combination of sourness and heat. Hot & Spicy fried fish (I believe the menu number is H1) is what I crave and keeps bringing me back here. It's a bit greasy and a tad over-salted, but it's fried to perfection and the spice and flavor keeps me reaching for one piece after another! Fried rice costs an extra dollar and isn't anything to brag about, but I prefer it over white rice. It has a prominent butter flavor, a small amount of scrambled eggs, and sprinkles of peas and carrot chunks (which likely came out of a frozen veggie bag). I wish it included fresh veggies and onions at the very least. Beef Lo Mein is filled with lots of veggies and very tender beef chunks. The flavor is good and there's always lots to pack in a to-go box. The servers have always been nice and attentive and happy to answer questions. The food is made to order and comes out quickly.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in Huntsville. The staff is always friendly and food comes hot and freshly prepared. The have a good crowd during lunch buffet. When dinner time rolls around, they're pretty dead. Don't let that discourage you, however. Their food is still good and prepared right. I love their "har fun", the flat white noodle -something you can't get at fast food Chinese. Theirs isn't drench in black sauce, like ding how. It's well flavored and decent amount of meat. Their taro duck can be good if they're not too dry. I like the steam sea bass and vegetables stir fry. Note: They don't always have their special items on the menu. Overall, I'm definitely a repeat customer.

Tried this Chinese restaurant the other night. Got the General Taos chicken and beef lo mein, there were average, not something to write home about.

Very good Chinese food... probably the best combination fried rice (it's called Tai-Pan fried rice) there is in town (so far).

Very amazing experience. Arrived at 730pm and was the only customers in the restaurant. We all felt very leary. When we received our food it was very delieshious and our stay was very pleasant experience. The hostess was very helpfull. I had the pu-pu sampler plater and beef with vegetables. The pu pu plater came with a small fire in the middle to make food more crispy i was told. Overall I had a great time and left with a happy and full stumic.

We moved here a little over a month ago and were in desperate need of finding our new chinese "home" meal! This is definitely it! We went in with our three kids at 5pm on a Monday evening and the owner greeted us, sat us, and then began talking with our boys about the toys they brought along. He was so very kind and understanding to the louder noise we had at our table. (This, however, was not necessary carried over to the server, who left a lot to be desired.) The diningroom may not be elegant, but the food more than makes up for any discomfort one may have upon entering. We started off with the pan-fried pork dumplings and I can honestly say that they are, by far, the best I have ever had. Quite obviously made by hand, that day (if not seconds before tossing them into the pan). The flavor was subtle and savory, and when dipped into their homemade sauce, your tastebuds will dance with delight! We ordered the General Tso and Chicken and Broccoli with both white/jasmine rice and fried rice. The General Tso was amazing! It was not the typical breaded and deep-fried chicken pieces covered in sauce; it was wok-cooked whole chunks of good white meat chicken, carrots, onion, water chestnuts, and green peppers in a sweet and salty sauce. Not too overpowering and just the right amount of spice to leave a tingle on your tongue. The chicken and broccoli (and carrots) was perfect for our boys as it was a lighter white sauce and the chicken was sliced into thin smaller pieces. The two plates were enough to feed my 5, 2, and 1 year olds and my husband and I.

My husband and I went for our first time with our 2 year old and everyone was very friendly and our server really knew the menu and had a several great recommendations. I ordered the chicken lo mein and my husband ordered General Tso's chicken. His plate came with a beautiful garnish which was a shaven radish folded into a rose, complete with a stem. :) I would post a picture but I forgot my phone when we went. His dinner was AMAZING! Yes, I ate some of his. My dinner was awesome, too. The portions are very generous. He finished all of his dinner except the rice and I had enough for 3 meals. I'm eating mine right now actually for breakfast. We also ordered the (cream) cheese wantons. WOW. They are sooo much softer and squisher and tastier than the typical buffet wontons. They came with some dipping sauce as well. We will be eating there from now on. The best Chinese I have ever had! Oh, and our son was very entertained by the lady at the front desk who is very sweet and played peek-a-boo with him for a while and then rewarded him with a lolipop. He gives it 5 stars as well .

Best Chinese place in Madison. Consistently good food, fast, and friendly. If I'm ordering take-out (or dining in) Chinese in Madison - it's from here.

If you are looking for an authentic chinese food - this is the only place in town for what you are looking for. Be sure that you order the items from "Chinese Specialty Menu" - those are the typical Chinese Cuisine. Source: I'm a Chinese and I know how the real Chinese food tastes like :)

I come here for dinner at times for their steamed fish fillet, it's so refreshing and the sauce that comes with it is so good. They also have other authentic foods like Chinese style beef stew, honey glazed prawns, salt and pepper pork chops etc. It's very much "like home" for me, just like how mom does it.

Though the place looks like its a mediocre renovation, the buffet at lunch is really good. I have never been disappointed eating there.

Best Chinese lunch buffet in town. It can get crowded sometimes but that helps keep the food fresh. Tuesday is the best day we call it "Creamy Shrimp Tuesday" , When it comes out hot and fresh it will leave you speechless.

We really like this place. And when it comes to a Chinese buffet...this is pretty much top of the pops. The food is always fresh, the selection is great, and I never have to wait for a drink.

My long-time favorite quickie chinese buffet. Service is perfect. Food selection is good if not a little heavy on the onions. But the General Tso Chicken was very good. I brought two Indians coworkers with me and one was a vegitarian. He asked the chef, who was actually out momentarily, for vegitarian spring-rolls and he brought him a set of four! That's awesome!! But I love the Hot & Sour soup and ALWAYS begin with that. I love both yellow an white rice with lots of toppings and they give me that. Great rice, very traditional. There's always something interesting I don't expect - perhaps a shrimp-based topping or ribs. Then ending with those great desserts and fruit is a nice way to top it all off. Tea is perfect too.

Pretty good food (we order off of the Chinese specialty menu). We've only been there in the evenings and it's pretty sparse, but we're Chinese and we like the food

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
