This restaurant is the best place for barbecue. The prices are so reasonable, the atmosphere makes you feel like your on a fishing trip, the employees welcome you in as you would welcome someone into your own home, and lastly you will leave there filling full. I love getting either a ham sandwich or super stuffed potato with ham. If you add the "white sauce" they have available that is make home made just add the extra flavor you will enjoy.

I have now become addicted to the pork nachos, the sweet tea, and the Brunswick stew. I guess I might as well go to Athens and get the t-shirt too. Lawler's is hands-down the best in the land. I visited the Hughs Rd location earlier this week and the food there was equally superb. Five stars for cleanliness (dining room and rest room) as well...

My wife and I split a Stuffie Potato with Ham. We got the toppings on the side. The plastic knife was barely adequate for cutting a big potato in half. Next time we'll ask them to split, or cut this in half for us. If the ham was too salty, we didn't notice, as it was on a big potato. If you like the other LawLers Barbecue Expresses, you'll probably like this one.

Well, I have lived in Alabama, and continually hear that the best BBQ is in AL. I once upon a time tried Jim and Nicks Grease-B-Que. Grease on the floor, seats, table, the meat swimming in grease and smokers in the restaurant, never again. Today I decided to try again - a local version of Lawlers. I ordered a meal consisting of turkey, pork beans and smoked mac and cheese. It came with 1 roll and two small containers of "BBQ Sauce" - 1 white and the other clear? When I ordered I was asked - for here or to go? I answered to go, the cashier - Greg, muttered "leaving us huh" When I got home, I found the meat extremely salty, the sauces even saltier, the beans watery and salty, the mac and cheese dry. I will not return, nor try Alabama "BBQ" again.

I'm from North Carolina, and I usually like mustard or tomato based bbq. I'm not entirely sure what this is supposed to be. I ordered the Pork Plate, and the sides and roll were great. I had the baked beans and potato salad. The meat was VERY salty, and I skipped the weird sauce they threw in the bag, and went for the rib sauce which was quite delicious. So for my money I will go elsewhere. In a pinch I would eat the sides, but not the meat.
