I'm normally ambivalent about Cracker Barrels, but this one was excellent! I had the country boy breakfast and the steak that came out with this meal was better than lots I've had at steak restaurants in this area. Granted, since I'm neither a farmer nor an athlete I can't eat this often, but every once in a while it's good to know you have this option available. Our waitress was good and the atmosphere was more or less like any other Cracker Barrel, but the food was far better than any other I've been to.

Had one of the worst experiences that I have ever had at a Cracker Barrel. Waiter was in a huge rush about taking our order but we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The waiter did not check back with us until we were done. My hash brown cassarole was cold and tasteless. He offered to exchange it but it was not sincere. We talked to the manager at the same time another couple had a like experience. Will think twice about returning.

Wow -- I'd never have thought my first, "First to review" would be a Cracker Barrel. What can I say? Cracker Barrel is the definitive country-cuisine chain restaurant. My associate and I were looking for a place for lunch, saw it, and he said he'd never been to a Cracker Barrel. Well, that cinched it, we had to go, because everyone should experience Cracker Barrel at least once. I wouldn't say that Cracker Barrel is the thing I miss most living out in California, but it ranks up there. I had the Chicken and Dumplings, with some coleslaw and fried okra, sweet tea to drink. My associate had one of their new campfire dishes that comes all wrapped up in foil. I recall seeing chicken and a cob of corn. I wasn't paying that much attention, as I was scarfing down mine. The service was up to the high levels I've come to expect from Cracker Barrel. Overall, right in line with my impression of every other Cracker Barrel I've been to: good, consistent food and service.

Met expectations for breakfast. Simple food - eggs and toast in my case. Had iced tea as I find the coffee is weak at Cracker Barrel in general. Good value for money - met expectations.

I eat Cracker Barrel breakfast often at various Cracker Barrels. The Madison, AL store has some work to do to get up to par. Dirty silverware is understandable, but ignoring that it is dirty and wrapping it with a napkin for a place setting is inexcusable. During my visit I received two dirty sets of silverware and my plate had a hair on it.

Great food, cool atmosphere. Try the $5.99 lunch special (Turkey and Dressing, today). It was a little loud in the store, but our server (Nicole) anticipated every need before we asked... this went very far with me.

One of my favorite places in the Huntsville-Madison area that has never disappointed in the 5 years that I've been coming to it. Doesn't matter how busy it is (place is usually packed). The service & food is usually nothing short of excellent. This Cracker Barrel is hidden in a way from I-565, in that its neatly tucked behind a Shell gas station & adjacent to another restaurant. The parking is pretty good, both within the front and rear of the building. The front porch has at least a dozen + rocking chairs as well as check board games to keep you occupied while you wait. For this Sunday visit, I was a part of a party of 6. We didn't call to make a reservation, yet we were able to get on the list and have our party name called within 20 minutes. This alone is pretty good, considering that folks are just starting to come in for lunch right after church. The breakfast menu + lunch is pretty vast. I usually know what I'm going to order, so I don't read it that often to see what is new. I know that my all-time favorite of sweet potato pancakes are no longer on the menu, so I'll usually get the Momma's breakfast, which is three buttermilk pancakes, bacon & eggs. Its pretty simple, yet the portion sizes are quite large. Coffee is usually requested, and refilled promptly at no additional cost. Plenty of stuff to purchase within the store both before you eat, as well as afterwards. I mean, what a convenient distraction! Usually around Christmas time, this venue has items that would almost put Amazon to shame (I did say almost). All the employees that I've encountered here are pretty good, and I've rarely seen an employee have one of those "off days" due to the extraordinary crowds that come to this location. Who needs IHOP when you have Cracker Barrel? Seriously! Altogether, this has to be one of the best restaurants in all of the area. And particularly on Sundays, you'll never know what you will see in the parking lot either. You'll see folks with either their Sunday best on, or Saturday night fever attire. Either way, its worth a watch as you wait for your name or party to be called. Enjoy!

Generally a great place to go for good, home style meals. Good selection for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Friendly wait staff, too. Only down side can be long waits during rush times.

I like the setting of this restaurant and the stuff they sell in the store. The service is always good here. The food is okay... Sometimes it feels like I'm eating home cooked food, which I could probably make at home myself.

Gotta love Cracker Barrel, no matter where you are in the country. The charm, the atmosphere... the gift shop! Would love to give this 5 stars, but I stand by my vow to always give honest reviews of the good and the not-so-good. Cracker Barrel in general is 5 stars in my book. This location gets 3. The service was excellent; that was a 5, but the food wasn't up to par with the chain. The mashed potatoes with gravy were luke warm and the potatoes were literally getting hard/crusty exterior, as if they'd been sitting on the plate for much too long in the kitchen. Travesty! (I say that with a smile....) Mashed potatoes are my go-to comfort food, so this was disappointing. Also disappointing was they had NO (nada, not one, zilch, nothing) biscuits. Wha...?!?!?! Corn muffins are good, but biscuits are mandatory for me when I'm in a Cracker Barrel. The mashed potatoes and biscuits - or lack thereof - reduces it to 3 stars. I'll try a different location next time. I must add that I ate here for lunch today with my soon-to-be mother-in-law... met her for the first time, so for that, I'm tempted to bump it up to 4 stars (a sentimental star booster). But I can't get past the no biscuits and old taters....

Went here for father's day and boy it was crowded, probably more for the fact it was a typical Sunday morning breakfast. The cooks must be back there just flinging those spatulas trying to keep the orders turning. We had ordered some of our food "extra" browned and they didn't come out that way. I caught the manager walking by and he quickly resolved the problem. One of my favorite places to eat breakfast.

Not sure how this happened, seemed like a good idea at the time, during the holidays, or particularly on a Sunday, in the Deep South, this scene elevates gastronomy and the experience to a level even more offensive than the patrons therein We juxtaposed what we saw there last week, and have seen so many times in the past, with memories of how some others value a meal, and then we, as you would, shuddered. Population control at its finest, it only got two stars because the staff was polite. Pretty sure my water had gravy in it too.

Awesome service and breakfast. Bacon...OMG yum YUM. Y U M!!! Our waitress was fantastic, she had no problems with customizing our food orders and putting up with our idiosyncrasies. Everything was fantastic and it would be difficult to improve what we enjoyed today.

I love country food so I decided to try this place. I am now a fan! I got the chicken and dumplings. I have never had chicken and dumplings before so I did not know what to expect. I loved it. The chicken was tender and flavorful and I love the dumplings. Since I am from Hawaii and know of now where that makes chicken and dumplings I will have to learn how to make it myself. I got the meal with 2 sides, I got the mustard greens and green beans. The mustard greens were awesome! I love collard greens and have never had mustard greens before, now I am not sure which I like better. The meal also comes with 2 biscuits. Those were some DAMN good biscuits! Definitely a good place to go for some country comfort food!

Love me some Cracker Barrel. Tops for breakfast. You're gonna get friendly service, good food, and hot coffee. Lots of seating, typically no waiting, large parking lot, right off the highway.

Order one of thsoe meals to share. Each breakfast is portioned to feed an oversided lumberjack. Got the steak and eggs and it comes with THREE eggs, TWO Biscuits with gravy and grits. The steak even though it was a sirloin, was prepared better and had more flavor than the one I had at Conners. I ate 3/4 of the steak and 1.5 eggs. and half of one biscuit before my arteries began to go into shock form the sodium content. Albiet I was SUPER SATISFIED with the breakfast. Coffee was not burnt which is a plus for these types of places and it was always full. Another at the table got pancakes and it comes with three LARGE pancakes with strawberry, apple and berry(iforgot which other kind) jam that came in BOWLS. So fear not that you will not have enough dressings for it. Remember to pay the server up front and check out the store afterwards.
