Holy smokes! This place was absolutely delicious. We were passing through headed home to Memphis from ATL. We used yelp to help us find this gem! The best home cooking i have had in years. Desserts were homemade and meats were delicious. I hope to come back this way again so i can eat here with my family!!!!!

I'm going to give Laney's 5 stars until I find reason to do otherwise. The two bacon biscuit deal for $2.22 I shared with my cycling buddy was deemed very enjoyable by both him and I. I felt so much at home and comfortable here. She called my friend and I "hun" upon our very first entry into the restaurant. The breakfast buffet looked so stinking good, and I was really wishing I didn't have to cycle back in to Birmingham so I could really indulge. I will absolutely make it a point to visit out here someday when I am not on a bike so I can stuff my face. I'm thinking buffet here at any time of day will be stellar, but that breakfast had my mouth watering. All of the pricing here is super affordable. The rest of the menu also all looked very good. You can order food, or go with the easy buffet option. You can really tell that the staff puts 100% TLC into all of their food and service. These are good ol' folks with good ol' food, and I don't think I will be able to get enough. I can't wait to venture out here more to try more of their offerings. It definitely seemed to be the go-to local eatery around here. Stop by whenever you're going to the outlet stores or Bass Pro!

Laney's is a classic "meat and three" restaurant, yet is open for breakfast which I have yet to try. On this occasion, I enjoyed their buffet which was jam packed with a variety of meats (chicken - fried or baked, chicken fried steak, meatloaf and others) as well as veggies cooked soul style (greens, black eyed peas, collards etc) and starches (dressing, mashed potatoes). The staff are "on it" and you order at the front and get your plate where you also pick up your drink. Loading your plate is on you. Clean and in an older building, a true "hole in the wall" with great soul/southern food and good people.

I have only eaten here once for breakfast I had the country fried steak, eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit. This is place serves your stereotypical southern breakfast but it's good as well as extremely reasonably priced.

We came here after asking our local banker about the place. She says she comes here for thanksgiving every year. Thats a pretty good sign for me. So we headed on over all excited. Its a buffet inside or at least it is in the afternoon. Its nice to have a local place like this to go to that's not part of a chain. Its a charming place and the food is good. I am a big fan of mash potato and I took something that kinda looked like mash and when I tried it, it kinda tastes like mash potato so I am pretty certain it was mash potato. I like this place and we will come back again. Maybe next Thankgiving. Gooble Gooble!!

I used to love going to Laneys for some good country food. 7/29/14, 5:50pm. I walked in, there was 1 customer eating. Nobody greeting you as you entered. I looked at the food that was out and was shocked. The gentleman that was there eating shook his head NO. The food was old looking, hamburger steaks were dry and crusty, 1 piece of dried over cooked chicken, everything that was in a liquid had a dry film on it. There were so many dishes that had nothing in them. The salad was wilted, tomatoes looked like they were old and soggy. After looking at the food I walked out still with nobody ever welcoming me there. If they don't get their act in gear I'm afraid Leeds will loose its last family style restaurant.
