This place was so good-my team visited twice. The last visit included my team of 6 plus 5 others. Everyone ordered such variety and all was served at the same time at the proper temperature and high degree of freshness. Here I learned about Northern Alabama Barbecue sauce- It is white and flows like fat-free milk. The ingredients include mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, and coarsely ground pepper. With that said, I had the smoked chicken with white BBQ sauce. I chose fried green tomatoes and collard greens for my sides. This place is traditional southern fare with a modern twist. The guys loved the chicken fried chicken. The ingredients are fresh and were pleasant to the eye. Variety was incredible and also included macaroni and cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes, Korean cheesesteak, pulled pork, and much more. Prices are very reasonable. The environment was clean, simple, and pleasant. Service was stellar and the staff took pride in their business. Alabama Living states, "Southern Comfort's owner Tripp Mauldin is a classically trained chef. The Montgomery native graduated from Johnson & Wales University's culinary school in Colorado and cooked in San Francisco and Napa Valley, Calif., before returning home and opening the restaurant in early November 2014." Very cool! alabamaliving.coop/artic…

We were traveling from the gulf coast to Atlanta and decided to try out Southern Comfort Restaurant for lunch. The atmosphere was very nice. The staff was friendly and asked us about our trip and where we are from. The food was amazing! I had the vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, fried okra, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. They were all really fresh. The tomatoes were my favorite! My friend had the chicken with white sauce. It was packed with flavor and so delicious! We both had sweet tea and we shared the dirty fries. The tea was perfect and fries were really great too. I honestly have no complaints about our experience there. We will be back here on our next trip for sure! Als9, we left with 2 to-go boxes full of left over food!

Very good and fresh food. My husband had the barbecue burger and he loved it. It was a fresh (not frozen) beef pattie topped with very moist pulled pork. I had the barbecue baked potato. It was delicious! Will definitely stop here again on our way to the beach.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Waitresses are absolutely lovely. Everyone is welcomed with open arms. Fabulous home cooked food. Even the salad dressings and deserts were homemade. Best barbeque I've had in a long time. We are new to the Montgomery area from New Orleans and this place is going to be our Number 1 restaurant.

This place hits the spot on a road trip only 5 minutes from the highway so there is no worries about getting lost . I had the pork chops they were crispy and juicy the waitress was nice of nice to sub rice for my side we also had pot roast ( very tender) black eye peas , Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes ......but the one thing that threw me off was the Korean cheesesteak but don't miss it there is a large Korean community in this part of Alabama who knew !

Food is good, service was extremely poor. No personality, food took 32 minutes, after 25 minutes we were told they were out of Mac and cheese. Again food was good! Would repeat because there is nothing else around but don't expect great service. If you get a drink and food be happy!

Definitely worth the stop! Great food and service. Beautiful photos by a local photographer grace the walls.

We were traveling from Pensacola to Atlanta, looking for something for lunch other than fast food. Southern Comfort fit the bill and was just what its name implies! The Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, delicious. Collards were fresh and seasoned perfectly. Smoked chicken and pulled pork portions were generous. Several unique menu items - sweet potato covered with smoked pulled pork and key lime pie in a mason jar . This will be our regular pit stop when heading to the beach.

What a great off the path country restaurant. The staff was excellent. I unusual stay away from pork chops when I'm out, but these were very moist with a crispy crust. A must try.
