The bloomin' onion is to die for! That sauce that comes with it is delectable! WOW! One Wednesday, my husband and I were there. It wasn't busy at all and there were several empty tables throughout the restaurant. They still put our names down and made a waiting list. Either they were disorganized or they had very few people working. If they had had such a small about of waiters that night, then they really should have been better prepared. I don't care if it was just a Wednesday. Anyways, we sat at the bar instead and got full service. The bartender was very nice. The wait staff is friendly, but their employees working to-go need some shaping up, but that's only happened a few times. They're usually all very nice. I'll give them that. Oh, they're not open for lunch. (That goes for all of them, not just this one.) What's up with that? Oh well, I'll still go back there. I love the food!

Whatever happened to the Outback that used to be such a treat to go to--where people would sit out in the lobby for up to an hour waiting for a table? My recent experiences at Outback in Hoover make me long for those days. There recently have been a rash of coupons in the local papers, and it seems like they are needed to bring in business. The lobby has been empty and you can walk straight up to the host's desk and get a table. Service has been attentive, but it seems like forever to get food from the kitchen. The wait staff usually has to go through a long list of items that they are out of--on one visit they were even out of BREAD. On my last visit I ordered the French Onion soup as one of my sides. I was not told there would be a dollar up charge for this and the cheese on the soup was so tough it would barely cut with a knife. Good thing I didn't wear out the knife because the steaks have been a bit tough too. The loaded baked potato was good, but nothing to write home about. I have tried one of the Prime Rib lunch sandwiches and would recommend you go to J Alexander's or Firebirds if this is what you're craving--definitely not here. I have on a number of occasions picked up Blooming Onions to go, and those have always been good. Man cannot live by Blooming Onions alone, and this place is not going to survive very much longer unless they improve their quality.

The dining experience here was a disaster. We had a party of five, yet the manager refuse to give us a round table for six regardless how empty the restaurant was. His attitude made us feel he was the customer, and we all should serve him. We finished our lunch on a small table. No one ever sat on the table we wanted the whole time.

Fantastic place to eat. Service was great. Food was delicious, however I think they season their steaks too much. But....food was hot, place was clean, and the service was excellent. A shout out to Heather....Great Job!!!

One very quick comment---no tartar sauce !?? I have never been to a restaurant that did not offer tartar sauce with fish?? Really? Curious as to the reason for this?

This was once my favorite restaurant and now it's the last place I'll go. I had the wood fire rib eye - it was cooked right but the seasoning was so salty you couldn't hardly eat it. It was tough - I think Golden Corral could do better. I added the shrimp - bad overcooked & frankly not good either My wife didn't finish her Alice Springs Chicken - it was terrible. My daughter ordered the Cheese Fries - when they arrived I told the waitress ~we didn't order a half plate. She said that's a full plate now - oh The blooming onion is still one onion & it was decent. Man, I'm not sure if they've gotten that bad or my expectations have grown up. I'm not going to say I won't ever go back but it's not going to be on the list of suggestions.

Got cheesy fries for an app and the special with chopped blue cheese salad and loaded baked potato. The much smaller portion of Cheesy fries weren't loaded, just fries with melted cheddar/ monterey. They used to come with bacon bits and scallions, and no they were NOT crowded. The salad was good, the steak was chewy, probably should have gotten the Victoria fillet, but the worst was the loaded baked potato. It tasted like yesterday's. I understand about recycling, but at 30 cents a potato, they could have recycled it into mash and baked some fresh. I can't forget how bad it tasted. For this baked potato lover, that can make all the difference in me going back. Totally not impressed, which I should have realized by the lack of customers.

This is one of the better locations in the Outback chain. The service is great but a little slow when it's busy. Our server was very nice and friendly. The food is decent for a budget steakhouse.

In town on business. Server was good, it was obvious he was the type that did his work as well as other servers work as I saw him running around constantly. While he was hustling, I saw 2 other servers on the floor on their cell phones texting. A woman dropped off our appetizer and when I asked for a second sauce (for our blooming onion), she looked annoyed and said she'd tell our server. The app was left in the fryer a bit too long but wasn't bad. I ordered the filet with lobster tail, sweet baked potato and grilled asparagus. When the food hit the table, there was no lobster. I said to bring it when they had it and I would start with the steak. The filet was cooked perfectly. Seasoned a bit light for my taste but good overall. The asparagus was undercooked. The baked potato could have stayed in for 10-15 more minutes but wasn't too bad. I finish my meal THEN the lobster comes out, served by the manager who apologized. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery not to mention tiny. Should have been called a prawn. The bartender dropped off my drink earlier and as the table attempted to make conversation just cut us off, dropped the drink and left. For such mediocre food, this place needs major staff attitude adjustment, attention to detail, and a food expediter worth his weight in salt.

A friend and I went to outback recently. On the menu, I observed a steak and lobster meal. It looked delicious, so I ordered it. When the waitress brought my plate to the table, I almost blew a gasket. My steak was petite. This didn't bother me as much, as the tiny size of the lobster brought to me. The picture on the menu and what was actually serve to me was totally misleading. The size of the steak and lobster makes this meal, hands down over priced. I will never order this again. I included a picture of this meal in the photos.
