Eh, wasn't impressed. Lacking in flavor. BBQ sauce drizzled on top as well as ranch. Wasn't true BBQ to me. Lots of side options so that was nice. Mashed potatoes are more like what I call dressing. Son enjoyed the mac and cheese. Corn bread was fried. None of us liked it. Won't be back.

I should have read the reviews on the self service experience... I'm not a fan and left shortly after just wondering around waiting to be greeted...

MOEs caters and they did a fantastic job. Today we feed 300 associates and they catered their smoked wings. They arrived early and gave us more than we ordered. the management took care of us and we have no doubt we will have then cater again. We had Full Moon cater for two times before and they ALWAYS arrived late....never accepting responsibility. They said hey that's a lot of food so that is why we are late! So ridiculous. go for MOE's!!

Well Yelpers, you know how I like good BBQ and for the moment this places gets 3 stars mainly because I didn't really have BBQ for my meal. We had the smoked wings, they were cooked to perfection and my hubby liked the spicy sauce they are normally tossed in (we had it on the side) but without the sauce the meat only had a small smoke taste. I had the mac'n cheese as my side which was about 2 oz for $2. It's definitely worth us making our way around there again to try some actual BBQ (ribs, pulled pork etc.).

Okay, first thing you need to know is that you order at the counter and the counter is not right when you walk in. It is next to the bar, so head back there and you are in for a treat! BBQ is one of those very personal eats so I am going to focus more on the options and not the actual BBQ. The menu has a lot of options. All the regular meats, pork, biscuit, chicken, wings (yes, I know wings are chicken, but hey they are on the menu). You can get most of these as a plate or a sandwich (not the wings, darn I should have just left those off, they are pesky). What I really like is that Moe's has some standard sides, but they also have sides of the day. The sides of the day is actually a long list. Today they had lima beans, cornbread pudding, Mississippi Mud pie and about 5 more but these are the ones I had not seen before (we eat here about once a month). Macaroni and Cheese, French Fries, Chips and a few more are the ones that are always available. Personally I don't think the mac and cheese has enough cheese in it. So you've ordered, head back to the drink fountain and fill up. Soda and tea. Then take a seat and they will bring it out to you. They are pretty fast with the food so you can be out of there quick, as in plenty of time for a lunch break from work, or busy night with kids. Or you can sit. They have a bunch of tv's tuned to various sports channels. I personally really like all the BBQ I have had here. Typically I get the pulled pork sandwich Alabama style (smothered with slaw and pickles) and then add a bit more sauce which is available at the drink stand in squirt bottles. We just bring one back to the table. So if you like BBQ and trying new places, give this one a try, it's worth a shot. If their BBQ isn't for you then you know. But if you do like it, it is a gem!

I love BBQ. Their pulled pork is missing something......Flavor maybe? The collards are good. Not a fan of their set up and order process either.

Love me some Moe's Original BBQ! Until several weeks ago, I didn't realize I'd never been to this particular location. I've been to all the other Birmingham locations plenty but this one is no different. The vibe is very distinct and unique. Very fun atmosphere like the Lakeview location. Lots of TV's for you sports fans ;) All the same deals etc. apply here as well... 5-7pm happy hour specials M-F, 50 cent wing night etc. Staff that I've interacted with on a couple of visits now are all friendly and knowledgeable about what's going on in the restaurant. Can't ask for much more! Yet another business to help solidify Hoover as a great place to live (or be close to) :)

I've been a fan of Moe's since they first opened in Birmingham, so I was glad to see this location pop up near my neighborhood. Two things that I love about Moe's is the freshness of all their items and the fact that they smoke all of their meat. You know all the sides are fresh, because when they run out...they are out. Since they smoke everything for a long time, all of the meat is very soft and full of flavor. The best part...50 cent wings Monday-Thursday from 5-7pm. These wings are big and since they're smoked, you'll only feel half as guilty as when you eat fried wings. I suggest you counteract that by ordering the fried pickles.

Fantastic meat, what more could you want? This is a down home bar b q eatery. It's not fancy and it is not trying to be. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. I got the pulled pork platter, which comes with two sides, cornbread, and a drink. I chose mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything was delicious. I have no complaints about anything and I polished off my plate. If you're in the mood for some meat, this place will not disappoint.

I love Moe's and all the sides that they offer. I will admit I"m used to drowning my chicken sandwich in extra sauce so when I say that the meat is dry, that is most likely where my opinion stems from. The chow-chow on the top is really good, and I usually don't like chow. Be sure to get the cornbread as a side. It's delish!

I love this place. The staff is always friendly. And the drinks are ALWAYS magnificent and perfect. Never have I had a bad experience whether dining in or carrying out.

Oddly this was the first time I had been to the Patton Creek location. I have been many time to the Lakeview location though. Every time I go I get the wings. They are most excellent indeed. A great smoky flavor and just the perfect amount of time in the fryer. They keep is simple with most of their dishes which a lot of BBQ places in town don't do which too me is to their detriment. You'll find a good section of beers on draft with generally at least two or three locals to choose from. Make sure to try the cornbread also.

Very good barbeque. The turkey is delicious as well. Fast service and friendly staff.

Best ribs in town! Nice laid back atmosphere. Great southern style food and bbq. I hand the ribs and my wife had a pulled pork sandwich and both were great!

Had the 6 rib platter with baked beans and slaw. Not very impressed by the ribs, the sides actually stole the show. You order at the register and the food is brought to the table (quickly). The sauce was rather bland and there wasn't as much meat on the bone as I'm used to. The baked beans were sweet, the way I like them, and the slaw was quite tasty.

Sides were good ( cornbread and fries)... Wasn't a huge fan of the smoked Turkey sandwich... And pretty pricey .. But very well decorated.. And seemed to have a lot of people there. And clean.. Staff was friendly also.

we went here with our daughter & son in law Saturday night. What a great experience!! The guys got there before me & my daughter (we were shopping) when we arrived they were sitting at the bar eating wings talking to Charlie (the bartender) and raving over the samples of food they had already tried. We decided to sit outside and we ordered the party platter. We loved everything!!! The barbeque was excellent and I'm a huge bbq critic, sides great, chicken, turkey, all great!!! After our meal I had dessert which for me was the best thickest bushwacker I have had anywhere. Today we took leftovers and we had plenty to my moms, we all ate and even my sister & mom were amazed at how good it was. We will be back for more great food and fantastic service. Thanks Moe's we have a new favorite bbq place!!!

Just as delicious as the moes in Colorado! The bartender was great and even bought my 2nd beer, knowing I haven't had yuengling in years! Next time I'm through Alabama, I'm stopping in for sure! 5 star service!

I was at a conference in downtown Birmingham and was served a box lunch.Wow was it great! I was told that it came from Moe's Barbecue. So I found Moe's in Hoover. Bingo ,another great meal .The chicken and the pork were fantastic and the sides are as well.I will be back. Preston Lawley

My family and I love this place, the food is great and the baked beans are best I ever had besides mine : ) The only thing I hate is that they do not have French fries for a side. Other than that, I highly recommend!

Fantastic BBQ. I love the variation of side dishes. Every time I come here they have something new, and its always delicious. Its speedy, buy not too speedy, if you know what I mean. The service is top-notch. It also boasts a great atmosphere, lots of things to look at. Seems like there's 200 TVs in this place. If you're in the area looking for a casual dining experience, or perhaps trying to watch a sports event, I would definitely recommend Moe's.

The smoked turkey sandwich &/or smoked chicken sandwich are both delicious. The sides are always great, and typically have a kick of spice (which I happen to love). Everything here is great, and the service has always been quick. Although today the bartender's finger was up his nose a lot as he was taking my order and the restaurant seemed a bit dingy. In spite of that, I have been coming here for over a year and will continue to return. They do get busy for lunch, so get there early. There are several competing BBQ restaurants in their vicinity and they always outperform the competition. Seriously, go try their menu - it is deliciously satisfying.

Tonight I picked up some BBQ to go. We tried the chicken, corn bread, mac 'n cheese, and banana pudding. My thoughts are below. The chicken was very good. Very moist and had a great smokey flavor. The red sauce complimented it very well. The corn bread was nothing special. The mac 'n cheese was completely take it or leave it. The banana pudding was disappointing. I was really hoping for something that tasted like it at least once touched a real banana. That's not going to happen here. The service was great (they helped me figure out the menu) and quick. Long story short, there are a ton of places to go for BBQ in the area. This isn't the best. It's not the worst. In my mind, or stomach, Jim 'n Nicks and Full Moon have it beat. If I feel like driving, Dreamland beats them all. But that's just me and there is more menu to taste (pulled pork and turkey). Moe's does offer a convenient way to quench your BBQ craving.
