I celebrated by husband's 60th birthday in the private dinning area. The waite staff was excellent. The room holds 50. We filled the room and about six tables in the restaurant. The food was excellent! The staff was soooooo accommodating!! My husband had the 22 oz. Delmonico steak, salad and baked sweet potato. I had the Sunday special, the Queen's portion of Prime Rib with baked sweet potato and a salad. Everything was just AWESOME!!

Great food& drinks. Make a reservation or you will be waiting Atleast an hour. It is worth the wait though!

My husband and I were driving around on Friday and decided to stop here. It was about 7:30pm. We walked in and were told there was a 10 minute wait. About five minutes in there was a table available near the bar. The decor was rustic and it looked clean. I used the bathroom which was pretty clean as well. It was pretty crowded, but not packed. The noise level was very reasonable. Our server was great. Very friendly and attentive. We never went without refills and she checked on us often but wasn't hovering. Both of us got the ground chuck steak which was HUGE. With that my husband got a baked potato, I got asparagus and we both got the vegetable beef soup and a loaf of bread. The soup and vegetables were very good. The chuck steak was great, but the au jus that was on the plate was exceptional. I could just drink it. The meat was cooked well and had a great flavor. The prices were actually pretty reasonable for all the food. I would definitely like to go back on ladies night as the entrees are half price. It's definitely worth a shot!

It's important for me to say here: when I give restaurants reviews, I'm reviewing everything. Not just the food! I typically take atmosphere, service, and pricing heavily into my "score" along with some other things. Honestly, this one was more like a 2.5 stars and I rounded up. I had a good time here because of good friends and a martini, but I wouldn't go back on my own. Monday is ladies night so of course it was busy. Half off drinks and food for ladies! (EXCEPT: wine bottles, appetizers, desserts, or basically anything that "ladies" would want...). NO where to park and a 20 minute wait for party of 2-3. My peach martini was good and sweet. Not strong on alcohol but I didn't mind. I ordered the brownie/ice cream to share and a water. I had to ask for a refill 3 or more times before it came. The brownie was honestly, bad. It was piled high with crappy whipped cream and chocolate sauce (we're talking like, 3 cups full of whipped topping alone). The ice cream was okay. The brownie was warmish, and...grainy. Just crummy and grainy. My friend ordered the jessie special, and while she was happy with it, I couldn't SEE it. It was, again, a PILE of pastel shredded lettuce, and tomato pieces (there's supposed to be a burger/steak covered in mushrooms, somewhere). Again, this is no exaggeration! I can just picture Gordon Ramsey muttering profanities as he digs through the plate to try to find his food. The good: half price drinks, clean; decent atmosphere. The bad: The food. The service. The presentation. The wait. The many restrictions on "ladies" night.

Great Food, the wait staff is overwhelmed, they seem to work to many tables ! Which can lead to poor service! I would recommend hostess/ management check on tables for refills/ drinks! If management does not get this problem fixed this restaurant may not last long!

I had the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich for lunch. The sandwich had a modest amount of meat served on French bread. The meat was good, but not spectacular. I would have preferred it cooked more rare and sliced thinner. That would have highlighted the prime rib much better. Also, they could have been more generous with the amount of meat. The French bread was just right. It was fresh and crunchy. The ah jus sauce was warm and flavorful. The steak fries were good, but could have been fried a little longer. My friend had the Friday lunch special. It was grilled meat loaf served with mashed potatoes and green beans. It looked good. Overall, the experience was okay. I like that Jesse's is local, and not a chain restaurant. Compared with the nearby steak places, I would put Jesse's slightly above Longhorn and Outback, and a step below Firebird's and J. Alexander's.

What is going on with Jesse's? Please, tell me! My first couple of experiences have been great food and wonderful service. This past trip the food was pretty good, but that was about it. Our server was pretty new and pleasant, but our stable had some type of sticky residue on it, the window counters was dusty with dead flies, and the menu was pretty gross. I didn't realize this until I after I ordered my meal. Hope they get it together and not let this place go down hill. I will likely try them out again, since its such a great location and near all the other places I frequent...

Read mixed reviews so we had to go try it for ourselves. We were seated quickly & ordered shrimp cocktail & it was great. House salad was great as the thousand island tasted like it was freshly made. I selected the filet mignon & my wife ordered the Delmonico steak, both were very good & had us wanting more. Forgot to mention fresh bread was brought to our table as soon as we sat down, great starter. Our first visit but definitely won't be our last. The price was comparable to other local steak houses & the service was great. Serena was our server & was very knowledgable on all the dishes. The half off deals before 7:00 PM really are a great way to get early birds in.

I have seen mixed reviews on Jesse's decided to try it out for myself. We arrived at Jesse's on 1-28-15 after seeing a movie. We were seated right away. At the movie theater, there was an ad for Jesse's that said if you showed your ticket stub, that you could get a free appetizer. We ordered the crab cakes. They were very good! I ordered a New York strip steak and it was one the better steaks that I have had in a while. Seasoned good and cooked to what I asked for. Plus, it was a lot thicker than I thought it would be. The steak also came with sauteed mushrooms. I also got a salad and baked potato. The meal also came with a loaf of bread. This was my first time at Jesse'e Steak and Seafood, but I enjoyed it. We will be back. The food and service was very good. My only criticism would be the location. It is kind of hidden.

Had the prime rib special for Sunday brunch, it was delicious. Minus one star for a mediocre salad which tasted like it was bagged. Minus another star as the restaurant seemed dirty. Walking to the restroom, the floor was greasy and our table was sticky.

This is a place where I have enjoyed my experiences over the past couple of years. However on this occasion I have had my worst experience. I tried the Delmonica Steak and it came out overcooked. It was very well done and crispy. The waiter had them work on a new order and left my plate with me. While i waited I ate my broccoli. When my new steak came out it was only a steak and not a whole plate with steak and my side of broccoli. I was told that my side would not be replaced bec I ate it! I was in disbelief. Bec they felt it was okay that I saw there and watched my big party of friends eat while I waited on my order to be corrected with a small serving of broccoli in front of me. After discussion he brought me a serving of broccoli that would accompany my steak. He was rude and not hospitable. After enjoying the restaurant for some time I'm really hesitant on coming back ever again.

Since there were mixed reviews, i figured i should add one. I had the prime rib sandwich, which i have to say was very delicious. It was cut properly so that when you bite into it, you don't have to wrestle with it being chewy. Each bite was flavorful, especially with the au jus. Our server, Carlton, was attentive so I'm assuming the service has gotten better since the last few reviews. I would eat there again.

If Cracker Barrel thought to open a mid-scale steakhouse, it'd be this place. Had pork chops....weren't grilled, but pan seared and oven-finished. Well cooked but if you've got a grill, why not use it? Were tender bur bland...salt and pepper went a long way. Wife had filet mignon, medium rare...was on the rare side but still good. Again, bland...salt and pepper helped it a lot. Don't waste time with the veggies either...straight from a can. Only reason why this place gets one star is our server was quite nice. If you fat people sized portions of ultra-bland food served on plastic platters at ridonkulous prices....

First reaction, I was pleased to see how busy they were on a Monday evening. Turns out that's due at least in part to Monday being "ladies night" which gives ladies 1/2 off on entrees. The crowd was an interesting mix to say the least. We were seated promptly and the staff was friendly. Prices are quite reasonable. We ordered a couple of prime rib entrees which include a salad and a side item. My wife chose a sweet potato, I ordered fries. Bread was delivered to the table, a crusty French loaf with butter. Fine but not particularly tasty. Salads were soon delivered. We really enjoyed the fresh, crisp salads and I enjoyed the blue cheese dressing. Very nice salads. Steaks were delivered following the salads. They were cooked to order and served with a horseradish sauce that was maybe sour cream, a little mayo, and a very little bit of horseradish. Wasn't really a fan of the sauce. The steaks were served with a bit of au jus but overall were a bit bland. Not a bad cut. A little salt and pepper from the table helped. The bar seemed to be hopping the night we stopped in. Would I go back? Well, I don't know. If I was dining with someone who said "hey, let's go to Jesse's " I'd go along, but I don't think I'd ever suggest it.

Don't eat here! My and my fiance ate here last night and we've been sick all morning. We ate escargo, clamari, steaks, and a loaded baled potato not to mention how expensive it is

We were in the mood for steak. And seafood. Boom. My husband and I are big Linner eaters on the weekend, we don't like to wait for a table. I had the Black and Blue salad with a side of Gulf shrimp (salad topped with blue cheese and charbroiled sirloin pieces). My husband had the French onion soup and bunless cheeseburger (fabulous charbroiled burger, topped with a giant mound of lettuce). We enjoyed a glass of wine (me) and beer (mr me) while waiting for our table. We were seated before our glasses were empty, at a fireside four top. Nice and cozy. Our waiter was terrific, soup came out pretty fast. The meat was very tasty, the shrimp were tiny but tasty as well. For the price, a little skimpy on the portions. Parking was full, but we circled a few times til we found a spot. Another reviewer said with movie tickets, Jesses offers a free appetizer. I would take advantage of that offer.

Monday is ladies night and the place fills up! This place is mostly an older crowd of professionals (45+). Everything from retired business owners, current business owners, attorneys, accountants, insurance brokers and women hanging with friends. The rest of the week is hit or miss. The happy hour on liquor and wine is a great deal. They have reduced appetizers around the bar also. As for the restaurant side, I have no idea other than the steaks are okay, but the fish and PORK CHOPs were excellent.

My father was passing through town and requested we go here for dinner after he had a good take-out experience a few months ago. I had read the reviews on here and wasn't convinced, but gave it a go. There was no wait on a Friday night. Not that this was a bad thing, especially with me having my 3 year old and 3 month old along for the meal, but it's a sign that the place wouldn't be as good as good as expected. We were greeted promptly by our server who was VERY friendly and knowledgeable. He interacted well with my children (big bonus) and had good suggestions for our meals. My dad got their prime rib (their specialty) with squash and zucchini and a loaded baked potato, I ordered their coconut shrimp (it's Lent, no meat on Friday) with a baked sweet potato and my oldest son got their jumbo fried shrimp and fries. They make their ranch, bleu cheese and honey mustard in house- i got the ranch for my salad and the honey mustard for my shrimp. Very. VERY. Tasty. The salad was good and their fresh baked bread is amazing. The entrees arrived quickly, almost too fast. We weren't even close to done with our salads. But the prime rib slice was huge. Served bone-in, it looked well marbled and my dad raved over how good it was. Sadly, the shrimp was completely overcooked and tough. The coconut shrimp had good flavor, but my son's shrimp was bland. It's fried in a cornmeal batter, but it just wasn't tasty at all. Next time we're in the mood for steak or prime rib (and I don't want to cook it) we will give them another shot.

I was in town for work and wanted a steak. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Wow! I started with the crab soup in the bread bowl. Lots of crab and excellent flavor. I ordered the filet and the flavor was amazing. One note though order it cooked one notch over what you like. I had to send it back but hey, I will take it undercooked rather than over cooked any day. (Since you can always have it cooked more) I finished with the strawberry pie, it is a must have. Lots of strawberries and mountains....I mean mountains of whipped cream. I will definitely be back again.

I went with a friend for dinner. We went pretty late, so there were hardly any people there except the people at the bar. Our waitress was very nice and friendly and was helpful when we were trying to decide what we wanted to order. I got the night's fish Oscar with a side salad and their soup of the day which was corn chowder. The salad was a decent size but nothing special. I could not eat but a few bites of the corn chowder because it was SO salty. The fish was greasy and the Hollandaise sauce on top had no flavor at all. They have a choice of about eight different desserts but the only homemade, in-house dessert is their Key Lime pie. Not bad, but not good either. The food is not good enough to return.

Decided to give this restaurant a try after receiving mixed reviews, to my delight, it was very good. The mixed drinks were great! The clean cut Prime rib was well seasoned and very large. The Caesar salad was crisp and the crab cakes were large and delicious as well. The customer service was top notch. My husband had the Greek style shrimp which had breaded seasoning on it which was not cooked completely. The waitress was awesome! Aside from the undercooked shrimp, I would definitely return to this restaurant.

So we stopped in here around three thirty to four. We were greeted almost immediately sat down and our server was kind of slow to greet us. She got our drink orders but we needed some time to figure out what we wanted. I ended up choosing the strip and my friend the delmonico steak. We also got an app of crab cake stuffed mushrooms, THAT were AMAHHHZING! However it took our server about 15 minutes to come back to take our order. Then when we got our app she was replaced by a different server. One that seemed much nicer and much more attentive! We liked her. After our veey yummy app....came the salads, very yummy, nice tasting ranch dressing. Then our steaks. Mine was pitt-rare hers was supposed to be med-rare but it came out med-well and a bit tough. My food was great, hers not so much. No room for dessert. Place was very clean, bathrooms were nice but steak and first server was not up to par. Sometimes I get bad service because I usually eat with my friends, I'm a bartender...so never count your eggs before they're hatched because you could end up with an egg made of gold. Overall good place.

So I had heard of this new place and decided to try it out! Had some trouble finding it since there's no sign but it's literally right behind Sumo. Love the look of the inside, very rustic inside. For appetizer, we got the buffalo shrimp, which was very flavorful! They also bring out bread for the table which is also good. We were craving a burger so we both got the Jessie's Special which is sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese over a beef patty, no bun! It needed some flavor but we asked for BBQ sauce and it fixed the problem. Got baked potato and fries for our side which were also good. The service was a little spotty but you could tell it was new staff so understandable. We will try them for happy hour! 3:30-7 pm! And band on Friday!

This is the second time I have been here and it has not improved. The food is decent, not great. The salad and bread are good, but the steak was just okay. I ate at the bar since I was by myself, but I was not drinking, so that might account for the poor service. Somehow I doubt it since it took over five minutes for someone to notice me when I sat down. There were eight other people on the other side of the bar and two more on my side. After waiting far too long I got up to leave and some rather large gruff guy said "Where do you think you are going?" I told him I was leaving since it had been over five minutes waiting on a bartender and he replied that was him. I should have left then, but didn't. From then on I was basically ignored by both bartenders. I had to ask for refills of tea and for my check after waiting a good 10-15 minutes at the end of the meal. Another bartender somewhat apologized for ignoring me after I paid saying that he was busy with "regular"customers. Poor service will kill a restaurant and this was the second time I had the same type of service at Jesse's Steaks and Seafood. I won't be back since there are many other places with better food and definitely better service.

Since it was a Sunday and many restaurants were closed, we decided to give Jesse's a try despite the multiple bad reviews from friends. We will not be back. Stuffed mushrooms were served in an escargots dish with hilariously tiny mushrooms. Bland "crab" stuffing had very little crab and was mostly green onion. Buffalo fried shrimp was somehow overcooked and cold at the same time. Prime rib was pretty decent, if a little salty, but not half as good as J. Alexander offers just down the street for less money.

Went there with my husband and preschool aged son on a Friday evening. We hadn't eaten there before and wanted to try a different restaurant. We did not wait and were seated quickly. The atmosphere is nice. My son got a hamburger from the kids menu. It was a big burger for a child. Between the bun and the burger, he couldn't get it in his mouth. It was pretty good however. My husband got the pork chops which he said were good but nothing special. Two huge, thick pork chops served with a baked potato and a salad. I ordered the special, blackened grouper served on a bed of cooked spinach. The fish was very good. Cooked well, the blackening was flavorful without being burnt or mouth searing spicy. The spinach, salty. Too salty. It had bacon and a few diced tomatoes thrown in and a lot of salt. I had a salad. Our salads left a lot to be desired. The cucumbers had been cut for a while. The edges of the skin were curling and dry. The lettuce was a spring mix/iceberg mix. Some wilted, brown lettuce too. Huge chunks of onion that were quickly scooped off. The blue cheese dressing was quite good and homemade according to the menu. Lost one star because our waiter had the personality of a wet spaghetti noodle and we were asked multiple times if we were done, had paid our bill, etc. I felt like we were being pushed out the door.

We stopped here after a movie and it was not crowded at all so were seated rapidly and the service was great. My prime rib was excellent and probably a bigger cut that advertised. The fried shrimp was very good and the portion was adequate. The "Jessie's Special" cod was judged a little too salty but "OK". The sides and salads were nothing special but very well prepared. The place is fairly new and in a location that did not prove successful in the past so for now it gets four stars from me and I'll go back.

Having had one of the featured fish entrees on my last visit, which was as equally bad as this visit, I do not believe this place should be allowed to use the name Seafood. The main fish is Islandic Cod Fish, which baffles me, given that the Gulf of Mexico is filled with much better seafood. If you want frozen bad seafood dishes, this is your place.

My wife and I met another couple at Jesses last night for a small reunion and Christmas dinner. We tried to make reservations and were told that due to three party's that were happening there, they would not make a reservation., but they felt sure we could get a table. When we arrived there were many tables available. We settled on the two for $40.00 deal which included an appetizer, a salad or soup each, an entree each and split a dessert. The appetizer was small but fairly good, the salad was all stalk and very little leaf, the 6 oz. Filet was cooked to perfection and very tasty, but the bake potato was old and dry, probably prepared early on the day. Also the slice of strawberry cheesecake was tasty, but small. Overall enjoyed the evening, but the 40.00 meal was over 70.00 when we got the bill. We had two drinks that were added at 11.00 but still I don't feel like I got 70.00 worth of enjoyment from the meal. Probably will go back for lunch and have a burger!

Another visit 23 Aug 2013.. Arrived with a friend to re-evaluate this place. Greeted very warmly and seated directly with no wait. The people waiting were in larger groups of 4 or more. Our server was GILBERT who deserves being requested on subsequent trips. Several reviews discussed numerous negatives which are myths in our estimation. First their French Onion Soup was described as "watery". Gilbert offered to bring us a sample for our evaluation . [We didn't suggest this . HE DID.] The soup was very good !! I've had better but it was not as previously described by others. Kudos for this server who evidently was given the opportunity by the owners to proudly demonstrate their product. My guest and I decided to order seafood which also had been described as "bland, not fresh, should not even be on the menu, etc. Our bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio arrived with the customary warm fresh baked bread roll and butter which we enjoyed with our Appetizer of Grilled Crab cake which we shared. The Crab could better be described as a veggie burger which was in need of some crab !! Very well seasoned and tasty but missing a "key" ingredient. The 3 cakes provided was adequate for an appy . She had pan seared Scallops on a bed of bacon laden spinach which was marvelous, and tasty abundant enough for her to take remainders home (previously stated in several reviews as their portions were too small). I opted for the Greek inspired broiled Fish (COD) served with rice (which I requested from the long list of choices offered by Gilbert. The only glitch at this point was I was initially given Greek Chicken by a server/helper which was immediately returned with my Greek Fish Dish served before my guest ate 2 pieces of her scallop which she also shared with me.Both dishes met my approval on taste, presentation, as well as portion size. Gilbert immediately arrived and said he was sorry for the mix-up in my order. [BTW as the previous server returned to the kitchen with my mistaken dish I could clearly see (sort of open kitchen) an extreme flurry of chef activity to get my request proper]. Our house salads were fresh, abundant, tasty mix of iceberg lettuce, fennel, tomatoes, onion slices , and thin Julienned carrot. Our Greek dressing was missing the "feta pieces" (which Gilbert told us about in case we were unaware of cheese in the dressing for potential dietary concerns) were not seen, tasted or concerned about. Overall a great meal with caring prompt service and attention to our concerns. As I enjoyed my Hennessey snifter and my guest enjoyed her coffee we were greeted by the owners' daughter asking about our meal and if we were pleased with our evening. Whereupon we mentioned our excitement with our meal and service which included the "veggie burger" crab-less crab cakes, our enjoyment for an opportunity to taste their onion soup which was reported to be not too good, along with the fact that I would have preferred an espresso to their coffee as well as the snafu in the Chicken/Fish error. Overall a bit pricey until you consider the bottle of good wine which we really enjoyed and the Hennessey cognac which was $45 combined but our choice versus ordering wine by the glass which would not have been great wine vs whatever they decided to utilize from under their bar, if you know what I mean. We will return and offer our experiences with friends and family. Overall a GREAT EXPERIENCE....pj A new opening for a Tampa based restaurant for years. Features BEEF and seafood with several Greek preparations offered. Occupies the former Flat Iron Grill space in Patton Creek Shopping Center. Plan on eating here this evening (19 July 2013) after which I will give my personal thoughts on menu, service, dishes offered and authenticity/cooking processes....pj
