This is another childhood favorite of mine. When I talk to friends back home and say... hey what do you think of Dari Delite chicken fingers.. All you get is Ooooo the chicken fingers.... I know it seems odd that you can make so many drool over something as easy as chicken fingers but this is the basic little restaurant with outstanding chicken fingers. Spiced well with a perfectly cooked layer of crust. I honestly cant tell you at all what else they have here... the reason to go to this place is the chicken fingers!

I am craving some deep fried goodness. If I was in Hartselle, AL this evening, I would be partaking of some chicken fingers from Dari-Delite. Their chicken fingers are the best I have ever had. I am not sure what is in the breading and batter, but I am here to tell you that they are addictive. This place has been in Hartselle ever since I can remember, and it was the first place that I ever even knew served chicken fingers. Anytime I fly to my hometown, we always have to take a ride over to Hartselle to get some. The last time I visited was over Christmas holidays, and I swear those chicken fingers are as good as the first time that I had them. Why am I writing this? I am in Arizona, and if I can't have their chicken fingers tonight at least I can write about them. Dari-Delite is worth the car trip to Hartselle.

I have friends who know me well enough to know that if I am in Hartselle this is one of two places I MUST go, and if I'm in a hurry this is the ONLY place (my other fav is The Freight House, but it's a good choice for a sit down meal only if you're not in a rush). Anyway, the burgers are great but the chicken fingers....sigh...wait, I'm having a Culinary Memory Moment. They are just fantastic. It's hard to describe why they are so good, it's something about their very unique batter that gives them a taste unlike anyone else's. I could (and have) eaten them just one after another after another. If you order them, know that they run on the smallish side, so you may be thinking for instance that 3 pieces is plenty - trust me, it isn't. That's what we like to call an Appetizer, your mouth will just be watering for more. The only reason this is a four instead of a five is a recent and rare bad experience. I had worked outside all day and finished tired and hungry, so I drove to DD to get a family box of wings, enough to get multiple meals from over the weekend. It was mid afternoon, so I already expected I'd have to wait on a large order. I pulled in and was the only person in line, pulled up to the window and paid and heard someone inside tell the window clerk to have me pull up, that I'd have to wait. Which I was FINE with. But before she could even relay that message to me someone else appeared and handed me my order? I was immediately a bit suspicious because the bottom of the box didn't even feel warm, and typically - in fact in EVERY previous visit - the fingers are almost too hot to eat. I should have immediately pulled back in, confirmed my suspicion and taken them back, but I was Hot, Tired, Hungry so I just drive home. And confirmed a box of stone cold fingers, apparently leftovers from the lunch crowd that someone scrounged up rather than serve some fresh. A nearly $20 box of cold leftover fingers! Really disappointing, I'm not even sure I'll be back again, and it was my absolute FAVORITE place for fingers. If I do go back I'll make sure it is only when they are very busy, so I am more likely to get them hot.

My husband and I went tonight to get vanilla milkshakes we got down the road before we ever realized we got chocolate and not vanilla very upsetting we will not be going back.

Only came here for an ice cream cone for the name I thought they would offer a bigger selection of ice cream but it's just a little old fashioned burger place that has chocolate and vanilla or swirl soft serve. No real complaints it was just fine and price was good!

I enjoyed visiting Dari-Delite, but after hearing so much about the 'greatest chicken fingers ever' from both reviewers online and some of the local folks, I came away with a little different opinion. The fingers were good, even very good...but they did not push the boundaries of "great' for me. The fries were nothing special at all. The restaurant has a great old-school atmosphere and the staff are friendly enough. I wouldn't make a special trip for the fingers, but if I were passing through it is definitely a better option than ANY of the fast food chain options around!

In my opinion, kind of gross... That's how I feel from the time I arrive, until the time I leave.
