Very great little place in a small shopping center area. Service was excellent and food was good as well. There are a lot of creative sushi options to choose from. Pair a roll with something from the Hibachi grill and you'll leave FULL and happy.

We were really surprised by this place. It was a Friday evening, and we had passed this place earlier on our way to the pavilion for the Muzzy Classic, so we decided to try it out on our way back to the hotel. (The reviews on the other Japanese place in front of our hotel steered us away.) I was really just expecting sushi, but they had a tempanyaki menu as well. The prices were incredibly reasonable, and our meals were fantastic. Great filet and scallops, and they had excellent yum-yum sauce. The ribeye was ample, tasty and very tender, and it was just as good the next day. The only thing we kind of missed was the whole hibachi experience, but eh, the prices totally offset the need for a knife, spachula and fire show.

This was surprisingly good in small town Alabama. Sushi prices a little high but it tasted good still. My kids loved the chicken fried rice.

Great little restaurant. However it is now called TOKE Not KOBE. My favorite place in Gville for sushi. The management is very friendly. Give them a shot.

This was the worst food and service that we've ever had at a restaurant. Our family ate at Kobe for the first time on Friday night, seated about 5:45pm. Ordered sushi / nigirl combo dinners, and one of us ordered shrimp hibachi dinner. We were warned that the sushi would take quite a while, which was okay with us. Drinks came out and the hot tea was a little over room temperature, and soupy... not like any hot tea that we've had. When we finally got someone's attention, they swapped these out for cokes. Our entree's came out about 45 minutes later. There were no bowls for the soy sauce / wasabi, no chop sticks, and my son had to rob forks and napkins from the next table. The kids ate their sushi anyway with just pouring soy sauce over the plate. I waited for another 15 minutes for bowls and chop sticks. Hibachi shrimp was cold, right at room temperature. Apparently it was made first and set aside waiting on the sushi. My wife didn't eat it. The oldest teenager boy was still hungry after his sushi, and didn't mind it being cold so he finished most of it. When only 2 shrimps were left, the yellow / orange shrimp sauce was finaly delivered. The sushi rice tasted stale, and the sushi was not tasty at all. It was what you'd expect from sushi at an all-you-can-eat buffet that's been sitting out for hours but not from a Japanise restaurant. The check came and we were asked how things were by the owner (or manager). We politely told her that the hibachi shrimp was cold and other issues. She said that she was sorry and that they'd try harder next time. She did bring special drinks to the kids to bring home. Maybe this was a bad day for Kobe / Guntersville. They seem to be way understaffed that night and inexperienced except for the owner / manager who was spread very thin. Our bill was $70+ and I did leave a $10 tip, which is very low for me, because I could tell that they were trying. However trying hard wasn't able to compensate for whatever was going on there that night.
