Carry out only. We had grilled shrimp, grouper, potatoes and hush puppies . The shrimp were very good. Grouper needed a little more seasoning and potatoes were very seasoned. Good after day at beach and don't want to go out to eat. Open 11- 9pm

This was our 2nd time eating here and it was just as good as the first. I believe they might have changed owners or something since the menu was a little different. The prices were good. We got steamed royal reds, fried shrimp, smoked tuna dip, fries, and hush puppies and all of it was delicious. Was disappointed cuZ the wouldn't let us buy raw crab cakes to take home and pan fry and the first time we ate there they did. Would defiantly go back.

On vacation at Gulf Shores and we were in need of some seafood. Well, seafood is a dime a dozen in these parts, however, the yelpers were correct about S & S....it was really awesome. This spot was right around the corner from where we stayed and hooked up a great meal for the 5 of us the day before we left. In particular, the grilled Greek style (olive oil, garlic, and oregano) mahi-mahi was delicious and cooked wonderfully, as well as the steamed shrimp and the crab cakes. Everything was seasoned great, lots of flavor....and most importantly....fresh. As others have said, the smoked tuna dip was ridiculous. I was putting it on my hush puppies.....retarded good. I didn't find the wait time bad, as others have said. I mean, you're not gonna get food like this the second you walk in the door. They have to make it and they're busy...there was a ton of people picking up orders on a Sunday evening. The bar next door is a nice place to hangout if the wait is too much for you... The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because it is a little expensive. I suppose that's the trade off if you want good, fresh seafood....but still, a standard family meal for 4 (2 fish fillets, hush puppies, fries, 2 crab cakes, and 2lbs of shrimp), a pint of fried oysters + a small container of tuna dip was almost $110. Ouch.

7/4/15 - It was a 20 minute wait to just get seated at The Beach House Kitchen. My husband didn't want to wait so we came over to S&S Seafood. I'm totally impressed with the 10 minute turnaround for our order of a pound of jumbo butterflied shrimp, onion rings and fries. It was extra to get the shrimp deveined but so WORTH IT! The shrimp, onion rings & fries were piping HOT & DELICIOUS! Very happy customers here!! 6/7/15 - Called in order for 1 pound of fried oysters at 12:30 for 12:45 pick-up. It was ready on time, scorching hot off the fryer and we're sitting on our deck already fat n happy at 1:20 pm writing this review!! Awesome oysters!!

Best mahi I have had in a long time. Got it with the Cajun spices. Also, we get their tuna dip everytime we come! It's soooooo good!!

We were in the mood for peel and eat shrimp and ended up at S & S and were not even the slightest bit disappointed. We went and ordered and then walked next door for a cocktail while we waited the 25 min for our food to be prepared. We got creole steamed shrimp, crab legs, corn on the cob and hush puppies. The shrimp was very well seasoned, the crab legs were incredible. I was licking my fingers to get every bit of the meat, some of the best I've ever had. And don't even let me get started on hush puppies, WOW what have I been missing out on my whole life?! They were these fantastic morsels of potato and onion and seasoning. Very very good. Definitely recommend this place for the low key nights you just want to devour freshly made seafood in the comfort of your own place.

Takes forever to get anything. Don't think your going to walk up and order something. Expect at least an hour. And if you call ahead it takes 50 min for anyone to answer the phone.

Some of the best seafood in Gulf Shores. This is a takeout place where you can take it back to your condo or they can cook it for you. Royal Reds are amazing.... Most tender shrimp I have ever had. Snow crab legs are just as good and all without the huge wait times in the peak of summer. You won't be disappointed!!

awesome local establishment. take out only, but a pretty wide selection of food. you are paying a little more for the convenience of the location - west beach is a little remote, so i am happy to have a place within walking distance. TRY THE SMOKED TUNA DIP just saying. it's straight up comfort food. They also have ritz crackers, thankfully - grab a couple of sleeves!

Some of the best shrimp down here, call in an order before you go to minimize your wait, awesome food!!!!! A++++++

This is a great place for seafood lovers like me that have families that don't like seafood. I ordered the large shrimp meal and it was more than enough for me. The shrimp were excellent and the sides were solid. I added a box of potatoes for the rest of the family and they were tasty and the box contained enough potatoes to feed an army. This place is really busy so it's hard to place an order by phone because it's constantly ringing. It's easier to order at the counter but you better be ready to wait. The wait is no problem as there is a bar next door so you can have a beer while your food is being prepared.

We picked up two pounds of hot steamed royal reds and two pounds of snow crabs legs along with potatoes and corn - all was oustanding. We will order again. Hard to go wrong with steamed seafood and these guys know how to do it ( I'm sure they learned how to season and cook seafood from their many relatives in Louisiana). Take out only. They also have beautiful fresh fish filets perfect for grilling or broiling.

I'm surprised by the only other review giving this place one star. We were in town for the Hangout Festival and picked up 10 pounds of shrimp for the weekend. We bought some large peel-n-eat, as well as some smaller shrimp that had already been peeled. Both were fantastic. The service was prompt and there was a decent selection of seafood available. While the interior is sparse on design and features, the focus is clearly on the seafood. In addition to picking up the shrimp, we also bought two small containers of remoulade, which was excellent. It was a bit on the spicy side, so fair warning, but a great accompaniment to the shrimp. I cannot recall the prices per pound, but I do recall that we didn't leave shell-shocked by the prices. I think a stop here will be part of our ongoing Hangout Fest ritual, in our weekend of good music, good friends, and good food.

You can buy and take home, or have them cook it for you. Fresh shrimp, oysters and fish. It can get busy and you may have to wait, we usually call ahead. Great fried shrimp and oysters. Remoulade sauce is a little spicy. We got spicy and mild steamed shrimp, took them back and chilled. Perfect peel and eat! The general store is next door, order, step next door and pick out your libations and take it all home.

Shrimp were OK. Ordered two pounds streamed & a thing of cocktail sauce ($31) and the seasoning was decent. Price however was pretty outrageous even for the location. If you can cook them at home, get the same or better quality at Billy's ten minutes away at half the price.

Food is great. Delicious royal reds!

When I arrived there was a handful of each seafood laying on plastic wrapped ice. A token effort, or is that all you have in stock? I ordered a pound of medium shrimp steamed to go. The shrimp were more like smalls, over spiced and mealy. I won't be back.
