This isn't the best Japanese in the area, I would give that honor to Fuji over in Oxford, but if you are in Gadsden looking for Japanese this is the best place to go. The space is nice, clean, and welcoming. The service reliably efficient and polite. The fried rice doesn't disappoint, that's what you're really going for anyways, right? The fried tofu appetizer is also quite good. The Hawaiian sushi roll is awesome!!! The salad and the soup is the same as it is at every Japanese restaurant, no surprises there. They have always had great bar service and been willing to mix up interesting new drinks when I was there. On the other hand, the meat and veggies always seem to be missing a marinade or some extra flavor to my taste. Now if you're that person who is going to drench everything in the shrimp sauce, and who doesn't love that, you probably won't ever notice what I'm talking about and you'll think it's great! If you don't love the shrimp sauce, you might however find your meal to be a bit bland. If that's the case, just order the fried rice and get a nice appetizer or sushi for your protein & veggies, you'll be much happier with that.

Excellent food, the teriyaki chicken is amazing. They also put on a show, with cool cooking tricks, like an onion ring volcano. Great food, and atmosphere.

The food is pretty good and the show by the chef is great for kids. The hostess, however, is extremely rude!
