Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I've been over a dozen times and can't get enough. The owners, Rachel and Carlos, are awesome. Great service and they cook their food like they are serving dinner to their family. Worth the drive from Pensacola any day. My favorites are the tacos and 7-wonders Brazilian fruit drink, but seriously everything on the menu is fantastic, guac included.

I've had serious cravings for arepas for almost 2 years now. Only a few days after seeing another Yelp review of this place, I had to make the 40 minute drive from my house, on a work night, to check it out. It couldn't wait until the weekend. I have a hungry teenage son who's always up for an adventure, so off we went. You know how Buffett says "indecision may or may not be the problem"? It was definitely the problem in this case. After driving all the way to Foley for arepas, Spencer asked if they had tostones. Yes, they did, but they are called patacon pisao. Dangit!!! Now, do I want those scrumptious little sandwiches made with masa "hoecakes", or do I want to taste that combination of meat together with sweet plantains? Hmmmmm.... Since Spencer went with the patacon pisao, I decided to stick with arepas. I've never met an arepa I didn't like. These were simple, yet fantastic. They came in an order of three: one seasoned ground beef, one seasoned shredded chicken, and one shredded pork. All three were equally delicious. They were made with meat, cilantro and white cheese, but no beans or sour cream. I didn't miss it at all. I did get an order of fried plantains on the side and the sweetness of those were a perfect compliment to the arepas. I also finished with a slice of the tres leches, which is a cake soaked in three milks then topped with whipped cream and strawberries. Yumm! That's my new favorite sin. Now, the patacon pisao... It was a little different from the tostones that we're used to. It was like a huge soft taco shell made from plantains, stuffed with strips of lean steak, guacamole and pico. It came with two fried strips of yuccas, rice and beans. I didn't get to try a bite at the table, but fortunately, he had leftovers and I may or may not have tasted a little sample out of the fridge at 4:00 am when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Phenomenal!!!! For once, I enjoyed the insomnia. The prices were reasonable and the service was good. This was definitely worth the little trip to Foley on a weeknight. Buffett also says "wrinkles only go where smiles have been" and I see a lot of wrinkles in my future from eating at Bandidos. :)

Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had. It's a little mom and pop place where they pride themselves in having only the freshest and chemical free food. This is my first time here thanks to my brother who is a regular that everyone knew when we walked in. Fast and friendly service! I had the shredded chicken taco salad and it was amazing! Perfectly portioned. Oh and don't forget it's BYOB or alcohol of your choice and they will happily make you an adult beverage of your choice.

Just called to place an order for delivery, about a mile away. There is a $20 minimum and a 5$ delivery fee......I'm at work and not able to leave and was excited to try this place, but no thank you.

6/17/15: I am very happy to have stumbled upon this hidden gem in Foley. It's excellent Mexican and Colombian food made from scratch! I told Rachel, the chef's wife, that I've never had Colombian food and she recommended the Empanadas Colombianas - fried stuffed home ground corn pastry and I loved them - so crunchy, perfectly delicious with lime squeezed on each bite & with guacamole or pico de gallo. My friend ordered the #6 Bandeja Paisa - the platter was HUGE; it was enough food for two! From my friend's plate, I sampled and really enjoyed the Yuca Frita (similar to potato), Arepas (soft white corn flat cakes), Colombian chorizo and especially the Platano Maduro. I ended up getting an order of those delicious fried plantains to share with other friends on my route home. There's several other items that I want to try so I'll be back! 6/20/15: Today, I ordered their #9 Avocado Frito and a single Arepa Carnita for lunch. The fresh made chips & salsa were delicious; it was mild for me so hot sauce was needed. The fried avocado was very good, however each bite of the freshly toasted arepa, filled with slow roasted pork, cheese and sautéed pico de gallo, was absolutely divine! And of course, I left with an order of Plantano Maduro for later. Carlos Jaramillo's restaurant is a wonderful addition to this area. I really appreciate the hard work they put into making and serving us such delicious Colombian cuisine.

I don't know if we just stopped by on an off day for this place, my experience makes me question every previous reviewer! My husband and I LOVE Central American food. We have probably eaten at every restaurant with a similar cuisine in a 50 mile radius. There was nothing here that will bring us back for more. The food was bland and overpriced. The empanadas, tacos, and enchiladas were completely unremarkable. The rice and beans looked and tasted dry. There was a crust on the refried beans because they were that dry! Every sauce tasted like it came from a can and didn't have anything added to spice it up or make it original. Just not good. Don't know how our experience was vastly different from the other reviewers, but it was! I'd recommend skipping this place and saving yourself from the overpriced bill.

I am a huge fan of Mexican food and this is BY FAR the best Mexican food I have ever had. Rachel, the owner, made us feel welcome and gave us a beautiful presentation on the food by telling us it's background and how it's all fresh ingredients. I felt like I was eating in her kitchen because she constantly made sure that we were comfortable and enjoying our food. She even adjusted the temperature so we weren't cold. She told us everything that they have is fresh, they don't believe in preservatives or anything artificial so they keep all of those things out of their food. The food was extraordinarily delicious and absolutely amazing. I wish I lived in this area so I could come back here often!

Best Mexican/South American food in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. Hidden gem! The menu had everyone's favorites along with some of the more authentic South American dishes I've had in the US. Make sure to get the fresh juice/liquado. Our favorite dishes were the platanos maduros and the yuca frita because they were so good and hard to get in the US. Chili relleno was also great. We went twice during our week stay at the beach. Additionally, it was very vegetarian friendly!

What a great place to experience real Colombian food. We took our family there and they loved the experience and the food. They took pride in their food and in the all natural ingredients that they used. The place was small and easy to over look when you are looking for it. It's along side other shops like a Subway or something would be in. The place looks like it might have been an old Subway or something but don't let the looks discourage you, it was an authentic Colombian food place. The owner was so nice and must actually be from Colombia. He was fun and even was our waiter at times. He definitely took pride in his food. This place is a little Colombian gem just waiting to be discovered!

This is the best columbin - mexican food in Baldwin county. The owners take pride in the food they serve and this is apparent in the quality and taste of each dish. If you have questions the servers or the owner will gladly explain each item to you. Excellent food and friendly service.

Awesome Columbian food. We didn't have their standard Mexican food. We tried their specialty Columbian signature dishes. It was so good I would go back tomorrow. Its a small place but the service and one on one attention was out of this world. You couldn't get fresher food if you ate the food in the field where it was grown. Every time we are in town, we will be enjoying this place. I wish we could have tried dessert, but the food was so good we couldn't stop ourselves. One more reason to go back tomorrow.

The steak was tough and chewy in the fajitas I ordered. My fiancee's nachos were inedible. And when we complained about the food, we were literally cussed out by the owner and his wife. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Terrible food and service!

The best Latin American food in Baldwin County. The owners are super nice and love to walk you through the menu. The food is so fresh and flavorful. He really has a passion for authentic dishes. This is not your average chip and queso dive. This is the place you always wanted to find. I just wish they had a liquor licence. The food is so good it doesn't even matter. Get the Lengua Tacos and the chicken arrepas. I didn't even know what an arrepa was until I had one here. I'm hooked.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
