It has a bar/ pub atmosphere.... But the food was surprisingly amazing! One of the best Reuben's I've had in years... And the potato salad was to die for. Service wasn't the best but to be expected in that bar/ pub type place. Hubby had the tuna taco and said that it was fantastic..and he is very picky. I will go back! I'll give it 5 stars for the food... Service would get a 4 but it's really not a restaurant... So overall it's definitely a 5.

Had a wonderful meal awaiting the start of the LSU game. Called ahead to make sure it would be showed, and I was reluctantly (jokingly) told they would. I guess I am in Alabama after all I'm a big fan of fish and chips and they do it right. Even had what they call "Irish" tarter sauce. Had the malt vinegar already mixed in! Doesn't mean I didn't add my own. Husband had the shepards pie. He loved it. Not only was it delicious it was huge. Honestly if we had gotten an appetizer, we could have split the shepards pie. We dined on the patio since the weather was so nice and it was great. Not even sure what the inside looks like. But I don't need to. The patio is great. I highly recommend McSharrys for a night out, whether date night or with friends. PS: they played 80s music the entire time. Take that as you may.

No high chairs for children. Not a kid friendly place. Very disappointed! We had read great reviews about McSharry's and were really looking forward to eating there. Got there around 6 PM on a Saturday and easily parked. We walked in and were told to sit anywhere. There was almost no one in the place. But when we asked for a high chair for our baby we were told they don't have any. What????? How can you be a restaurant and not seat children? FAIL!!!!

Spent a Thursday evening at the bar here. Nice selection of beer. Be advised that the Strongbow Cider is in a bottle and not a can. The shepherd's pie was tasty if simple, and the bar tenders are friendly and very prompt.

This is just a great bar. Great service, great food, great atmosphere.

I went with 3 other guys and we all enjoyed the experience. We tried their black & tan (not as easy to make well as people think) and a couple of other 'mixed beers.' Excellent. We also had the bratwurst on a bun, shepherd's pie, and fish sandwich. The pie wasn't a huge portion, but I prefer that since it's such a filling dish and you need room for the beer. The bratwurst was devoured in a few minutes. My fish sandwich was good--but the fish itself was really thick and took away from the beer batter. Had wings for an appetizer, and they were great if like the a little hot. I can't think of another wing place (including Hooter's) within 30 miles that I've liked more. The decor was interesting in a good way--very 'pubbish.' The staff could act a little less rushed, esp when it's not all that busy. But they were very good on the whole. For 4 beers, 4 meals, and an appetizer, it came to about $90 including a good tip. Not bad at all. Parking is about the same as anywhere downtown Fairhope--not great but you can find a place that's no more than 1-2 blocks away. That was my first trip, and I'll definitely be back.

Great place to watch the game or have a nice dinner with friends. It is also has great staff that takes care of you no matter the situation. Should you want to watch LSU beat Alabama in a football this is the place to go. They are huge LSU fans!

Always love eating there. Best Burger in town. Have been there for lunch and dinner. Great atmosphere.

This place is awesome! The food is really good. If you're looking for an appetizer the nachos are a must! The burger is really good (if you get it fully loaded). The fish and chips amazing as well. The only down side I've seen is the beer is a bit pricy.

Best bar in Fairhope!

Just passing through ... McSharry's strikes me a local dive bar but with decent food. It's not very big inside although there is patio seating. Based on the reviews, I was expecting a more extensive menu, but they only offer various pub appetizers/starters and a selection of sandwiches mostly. Shepherd's pie and fish & chips, of course. I went with a reuben with potato salad on the side. The potato salad was recommended by reviews and well it should be. Reuben also did not disappoint - nice, big chunks of tasty corned beef.

Great place! I usually don't grab food, but every time I've come for some live music or a night on the patio its been a great time. The heaters outside are fantastic during the colder months. Its a mixed crowd and I've always found either someone I know or someone else interesting to chat with. Food wise, I've had the burger - YUM.

If I ever write a screenplay or novel about living in a small town, it's going to have a bar like McSharry's in the center of it. I love this place. It's everything a small-town bar should be. It's easy to get pretentious in a town like Fairhope (hello, My Place bar across the street) but McSharry's has never fallen into that trap. Ronan, the owner, is a great guy who remembers me no matter how infrequently I come in (which is every couple of months when I'm visiting my parents' home.) He goes out of his way to be friendly and ask about my mother and sister. The other bartenders are also friendly. The food is great, the patio is fun, the music is good--whether it's an iPod, a DJ, or live Irish music being played right there in the bar! The bathrooms are clean, which isn't something I take for granted coming from New Orleans. Stop in, put your feet up and have a beer!

This is a great place for late night or to get a bite to eat. Good TVs and good staff so it's fun to watch a game there. Overall this is a great place!

I love this place. The owner and all his employees are fun attentive and pleasant. They serve the best bar food in town. Whether that be Irish fare like the shepards pie, or American like the chicken wings. McSharry's will always be my first choice for a night out.

McSharry's is a neat place downtown to hang out -- we've stopped by and eaten outside on several occasions. We've had the shepherd's pie, Irish Nachos and several of their sandwiches -- all very good, and the service is great.

great burger, cool atmosphere, good service, friendly staff, uncomfortable seating inside but that won't stop us from returning.

I was in last memorial day, actually I was in every day that weekend..I was treated rather well. I promised to take a photo wearing the T-shirt they gave me (while in Iraq) - which I followed through on. Hope they read this post..I mailed the photo and a flag flown here in Iraq to accompany it..it was returned as "refused"...so unless I hear from you guys I will deliver it personally next July!

If I have to give this place a rating - it would be a negative one. I would not advise anyone to visit this place at all. The owner Ronan is verbally abusive. He has a habit of calling ladies the "B" and "C" names!! The "F" word is the only adjective he knows. It depends on how much he has to drink and when he decide to abuse his customers. Worst person to own a bar.

This bar is quaint and nonsmoking! We were there on Sat, March 13, 2010 for dinner and drinks. We had chips with homemade salsa-- very good. For dinner we had a GREAT burger and a Reuben sandwich. For dessert -- the bread pudding!! The food was good and the beer was super cold. Wish we could have stayed around for St. Patty's day. The other Irish pub in Fairhope was not nonsmoking!
