Clean, friendly service, FREE REFILLS ON THAI TEA! Great prices on food. 11 dollars for lunch.!! And must important the food is FANTASTIC.

Not expensive, just family style. Huge portions. I am a meat and potatoes guy, but this is pretty good and it is not a bunch of rice noodles and limp vegetables. do not be afraid to go to the three star level of spice. The spicy chicken was a good flavor and fat white pieces of chicken breast. The fried rice was very good and we added pork which was also big chunks of meat, not fatty and not greasy. Probably not the best place for kids. Very calm and relaxing environment. We were there on a holiday and it seemed like they were short on staff, but the service was still acceptable.
(5)Judi M.
Friendly greeting at the door and the service remained courteous and friendly throughout the meal. The lychee juice was light and refreshing, the Thai ice tea was delicious and satisfying. Tom kha was very good. They used premium chicken breast but the pieces were to large to soak up flavor that early in the evening. The BBQ pork skewers were cooked nicely, just slightly overdone. The pad Thai was nice, and the duck was very nice. We will definitely be back
(4)Elizabeth N.
Definitely enjoyed my shrimp red curry and the tempura ice cream and the honey banana. The service was pretty good. Very accommodating to vegetarian needs. The setup of the curry was imported from Thailand and it gave the meal an authentic feel. I do wish that the Tom yum had more variety in seafood protein. The pad Thai portion was slightly smaller for the price. Overall, really enjoyed the desserts and our night there was very memorable.

The iced jasmine green tea is delish. It is sweetened however. Had 2 apps, firecracker shrimp - kinda boring - just shrimp wrapped in wonton wrapper. Crab Rangoon was very tasty. It wasn't just cream cheese like I am used to. It had what I think was an egg base. The wonton was very flavorful, will def order again. My husband had the drunken noodles, very good, he said not very spicy. I had chicken fever - very spicy! It was so good and flavorful. The jasmine iced tea helped my mouth cool off pretty well. We will be back.

Best meal I've had yet in Dothan. Got the pho they offered as a lunch special and was blown away. Great fast service as well.
(5)Thomas B.
Great food!! It's a perfect spot to take a significant other on a nice date as well!
(5)Wiley H.
This is an awesome place to go if you want mostly authentic Thai food. I have eaten in Thai restaurants all over the U.S. and even in Thailand many times so I feel I am a decent judge of it. In my opinion, this is in the top 90% and certainly the best in this immediate area. In addition, they provide friendly, impeccable service. The serving sizes are very generous AND for $3.75 you get all you can drink Thai Iced Tea! Guzzle guzzle.
(5)Jamie H.
Volcano chicken was wonderful. Portions are huge so make plans to share! Best fried rice in dothan! Try the thai tea!!
(5)Mike R.
Solid Thai food. Pretty good curry. Have eaten here a few times and definitely enjoyed it!
(4)David W.
Dumplings were OK. Pad Thai was a little better. Service was good.
(3)Jerilynn R.
We were in town for the day and searched Yelp for a good Thai place. We were not disappointed! 5 stars all the way! I had the Drunken Noodles and the spice was perfect. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken with the 2 star spice and added a bit more spice to his. Perfect to taste. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for excellent Thai food!

We stayed in Dothan on our way back from Fort Myers, FL due to bad weather in the area north of here. We had had enough seafood during the 2 month in Florida and wanted something different. Not far from our hotel we found the Thai House. It had some good reviews but still our expectations of Thai in Alabama.............? The place is in a little strip mall. The atmosphere is typical American Thai. NIce and comfortable seating in a fairly small space. On this Friday night at 6:30 there were only about 3 other tables full. We ordered a rangoon appetizers which was crispy and excellent. Our Chicken Fever was just right with a spice that was not overwhelming. The Volcano Chicken was also superb. We love Thai and this place was one of the best we have experienced. Our server was friendly, efficient and attentive. We really enjoyed our visit to the Thai House. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This Thai place is awesome, and I don't just mean relative to L.A. I always measure a Thai place by its Pad Thai and its green curry, both of which were awesome here. The only negatives is the play a lot of wedding-style music and the "Thai Hot" could be a little hotter. If you like Thai, this is definitely the place to go in Dothan.
(5)jennifer r.
still go here once/twice a month and it continues to be my favorite place in the area!
(5)Kelly K.
expect to pay $15 for lunch at this place and a not-so-nice service crew. my family stopped through on our way back to Birmingham from the beach and could almost taste the coconut soup on our lips as we walked in the restaurant. however, we were immediately told that we had to order it separately and could not substitute even for an extra cost to our dishes. instead we were served a pretty gross egg drop soup and nobody ate it. a waste. i will say the entrées were good... but not worth the price for lunch 'specials'.

This is my sixth or seventh time here. It's an authentic Thai restaurant. They have excellent service and the staff are so friendly. The tables and the environment looks great and so romantic. The food taste is good. I recommend the currys . All of them. I wish they have halal meat but they have seafood options. They have tofu as a substitute for meat. I'll come back again and again :)
(4)Alissa P.
Fantastic. Me and my date went today to go and see if this restaurant is worth coming to for homecoming night with friends. And it's seems perfect! Fancy and calm place with great food. Had the volcano chicken which was great! The staff was lovely as well. They always smiled and looked happy to have us. Our waiter constantly refilled our drinks and made sure we liked the food (which we did). Definitely one of my favorite places.
(5)Vicki P.
We try to dine at the Thai House each time we visit Dothan. The food is so well prepared and just right portions. The restaurant is very clean and the food is delicious. Make sure to visit for a wonderful meal.
(5)Audra B.
Love this place! One of my favorites when traveling through Dothan. Friendly service and the coconut soup is a must.
(5)Jason E.
A very nice and relaxing atmosphere. I had the firecracker shrimp for an appetizer and it was awesome. I had the spicy fried rice with chicken and it was amazing. Also had a taste of the spicy drunken noodles and they were great also. Friendly service! Would definitely recommend this place!

Driving from the Florida Keys, I had plenty of time to read all of the reviews on restaurants in the Dothan, Alabama area, so please let me say, I am so grateful for the honest reviews of Thai House. It not only met my expectations, it exceeded them. True Facts: 1st, don't be fooled by the strip mall location. 2nd, the atmosphere is serene and the ambient music is pleasant, not annoying or loud. 3rd, this place is CLEAN, including the restroom (women's, for certain!) 4th, be realistic about how much spiciness you can actually handle. I had a two star dish which is considered spicy and it was perfect for me (I like spicy and think I can handle it, but at two stars my ears were literally on fire...in a good tingle-y, 'I can't hear you because I'm enjoying this dish so much' kind of way, but I think I'd be passing out at three stars, call the fire department at four.) This place deserves all the accolades & rave reviews it has so far received. To borrow a phrase from a famous California Governor, "I'll be back."
(5)Chad W.
These Thai folks know how to prepare Thai food. Always consistently yummy. I like heat and they always oblige. Love the Panang Curry.
(5)Lauren D.
We went for Valentine's Day last night. The food was amazing and the service (even though it was nuts) was amazing as well. We started with golden bags (think Asian style samosa), moved on to thai basil chicken and pad thai, then we finished with banana spring rolls and ice cream. Thai house is always awesome, and their lunch specials are nice. You get an only slightly smaller entree with a bowl of soup and half an appetizer. Also, their hot teas come in elephant tea pots. I can't explain how much I love this place enough. In a chain restaurant loving city Thai house is a breath of fresh air.
(5)Trent J.
This place is my favorite place to eat in Dothan. The service is great, and the food is even better. This is true Thai food, I've not had food this good since I was in Thailand. I go here once a week when I am in town. They also have a great lunch special for $10.00. Everyone else please keep going to all the other chain restaurants in town, so I can keep getting good fresh food. Awesome.
(5)Titus T.
I was very excited to try out this place but I was sadly disappointed with out even getting to taste any of there food! This is the first restaurant of the night that my two friends and I tried to eat at at. We waited a good five minutes to be seated and we were not even greeted by a hostess! The end result was us walking down the sidewalk to Kyoto Sushi which turned out to be great, go there!
(1)Anh A.
High quality thai food. I have eaten a lot of Thai food at various places, and in Alabama this place is top 3 at least. Very good food and the price is little higher than other places, very good curry
(4)Jerry A.
OK, I give up, will not be back. This restaurant has a disconnect between it's serving staff and the kitchen. This visit, to make sure previous visit was not a fluke, was not good either. The key for me to good Thai food is that it be served physically hot. I entered restaurant around 11:30 for lunch, only individual in restaurant. Placed order, waited, more people were seated, waited, server was standing at counter talking. Waited, finally both the soup appetizer and meal were served at the same time. Tasted soup, Luke warm, tasted entree and it was Luke warm. Very evident food had been sitting in kitchen for awhile, maybe while server was so busy talking. Told server that soup was usually served first and that my entree would get even colder while I ate the soup. Naturally she was "sorry". Paid approximately $15.00 for a luke warm Thai meal. The food is still good, but service disconnect between servers and kitchen will be a big problem until it is addressed by management, if they care. It is sad to see such a good restaurant fail because of a situation like this. I will not return to this restaurant.

Delicious food, beautiful ambiance ...great service ! Above all it was a clean place :) l left counting the days Til I come back for more yummy food. I had a very flavorful chicken Pad Thai the portion was generous so I took leftovers home and it was so delicious re heated and it was just as amazing and I rarely eat leftovers they usually sit in the fridge for a few days and then tossed. The calamari was fried perfectly and the dipping sauce a perfect compliment to them. The jasmine tea and the Thai tea were equally delicious. I will be a regular !
(5)Justin F.
This is not your typical asian restaurant. The first thing you notice is that the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Excellent place if you're out on a casual date with your significant other or just looking to find something different and out of the ordinary. For a weary traveler like myself, I am just looking to get away from the typical chain restaurants. I studied the menu and found they have very unique entrees. I chose the Pad Thai with Chicken because it is a safe "1st dish" when trying out a place like this. I like it spicy and if you do too, ask for their hot sauces! They have a homemade chili sauce (similar to Sriracha) that gave it a very nice spicy flavor without burning you face off. I have to say, after I added that to my dish, it is by far the best I Pad Thai have ever had. I would definitely go back.
(5)Lauren P.
Amazing Thai food that didn't disappoint! Had yellow curry with chicken that was fantastic. The staff was friendly and the place was nice and clean. Highly recommend!
(5)April D.
One of my fav thai places just happened to be here in DothVegas! The massaman curry is so good and the pineapple fried rice is a must upgrade! Very convenient on the Circle. Nathan will take very good care off you there!
(5)Taylor H.
Wow. Me and my coworker came from California on a business trip. Couldn't believe how great their Pad Zeu was. LIKE WOW.!?!?! Green curry was great too but a bit too sweet for my pallet. Interior had great atmosphere .... Servers were nice. Seriously, if your near here, come GET SOME. Conclusion: This Thai place was better than any Thai place I've tried in California (Albeit, I may be ignorant with place in Cali)
(5)Jan M.
Awesome meal. This was one of the best meals I had while visiting the area. The environment was calm and the service was top notch. Enjoyed my entire order. I had appetizer Golden Bags which were really cute bag shaped wonton skin with minced chicken and Indian spices accompanied by sweet chili sauce. My entrée was ginger chicken but I substituted shrimp instead. All was deelllliiiccccooouuusss! Visited on my last afternoon in town or I'd definitely be back.

Well after 3 years I was moved back here to Fort Rucker and wasn't on lock down like I was before. I have had the chance to try a lot of thai places in Germany and Dallas. I also tried one here in Daleville. So maybe my tastebuds changed. I ordered the same thing I always order at restraunts started out with tom yum soup. This cost 5 dollars and the portion was small with 4 pieces of shrimp in it with some light broth. I sort of felt ripped off. Then I had the Larb gai which was okay but not as great as I remembered it. I think I made it better once when I youtubed the recipe. Service was fine we sat in the far corner and I kept having to flag the waitress down when we needed something. We ask for a lime we got one slice. We asked for a lot of rice we got 1 bowl. I think overall the best thing I liked was that they left a pitcher of water on the table for use to refill our own cups. The water was pretty good but we aren't here to review the water. I'm going to try the Larb Gai from the place in Daleville and if it's better sadly I'll be switching. =( also another note the forks were bent in all different directions they seem to be really sturdy don't know how someone could of chewed them up like that.

We stumbled upon this little tiny place in a strip mall on our way to Florida. WHOA!!! When I am traveling through areas such as this I dread being hungry on the road and having to settle for, usually, foodservice junk. Or, Americanized "Chinese" food or Thai food. First of all, it is clean. I mean REALLY clean. Service is unbelievable. They are super attentive but not overbearing. The lunch menu was very inexpensive. But the food... I was blown away. There is some little Thai person back there in the kitchen trying to recreate the magic of the homeland and show Americans how it is supposed to be done. Like this is their mission in life. Listen up fellow foodies from lands far away, traveling long distances to get to Florida... I know it is hard to believe that a tiny place in Alabama could get five stars, but this one deserves it:)
(5)Melissa B.
This place was pretty decent for Thai food in Dothan, Alabama. We order the Dragon Chicken as well as another chicken dish that escapes me. The sauces were much to sweet for our liking, but we did request extra spicy which got us close to what we have had in Thailand. Best solution is to ask for red chili peppers and they will bring you the traditional little pots with all the sauces so you can tailor your own. While we have very high standards for Thai food, being as we have traveled A LOT there and other Asian countries it was pretty fair in price in taste for the area.
(3)Joseph H.
Just visited Again; excellent service, quiet restaurant, very clean and amazing food!
(5)Marty S.
So authentic, the flavors surpass our food memories in Thailand. All Thai dishes can be spiced to your preferences, I chose ** stars which is a medium heat because I wanted to fully sample the flavors in my dish. It was outstanding. I will try the yellow curry chicken next which marks the limits of my heat threshold, but at request you can kick it up a notch yourself at the table. Fire cracker shrimp and the Thai rolls were perfectly fried precursors to our entrees! Competent and attentive staff, 5 star experience.
(5)Cara V.
Food - There were 3 of us and we ordered take out. We ordered phad thai, spicy drunken noodles (phad kee mao), calamari, and edamame. All were excellent. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not soggy and not too heavy on sauce. The calamari were large pieces, lightly battered and not rubbery. Edamame were as expected, nothing out of the ordinary. Everything tasted fresh. Overall much, MUCH better than I'd have expected in Dothan. Atmosphere - We didn't eat in the restaurant but the dining area was very clean, quaint and, dare I say, stylish. I would definitely eat at this location in the future. It appeared to be a popular dinner spot as people kept coming in to eat while we waited for our takeout. Service - The wait staff were friendly and offered us drinks while we waited for our orders. Price - Very reasonable. They have a menu on their website but they also had a bit more expanded menu in the restaurant and everything was available for dine-in or takeout.

My boyfriend and I stopped in Dothan for the night not expecting to have anything more than chain restaurant food for dinner, but we found this gem on yelp and had to try it! We're New Yorkers and (naturally) food snobs, but we LOVED this place! We suggest the curries with fried rice especially. Great service, great ambiance, and pretty great price considering how delicious it was!
(5)Willie V.
5 stars for Dothan. It would be lost in a larger city, for many reasons. However, attentive staff, clean and stylish decor, excellent food. I've had better Thai, but here they are consistently very good. Price is a tad high, but I'll pay gladly every time, for this kind of food. And lunch specials are a great deal.
(5)Mike R.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! Cannot rec enough. Panang Curry at least once a week for me :)
(5)Leslie J.
Went there today with my boyfriend and was very impressed. We started with the golden bags for an app and they were tasty. I had the spicy drunken noodle and it was great, not to hot but just right. My bf had the house fried rice and likes it as well. The ambiance was great beautiful decor and the service was great as well. Very friendly. Would go again anytime.
(5)Jay S.
Wow!! The food here is wonderful! I ate alone since I'm from out of town for work and they even gave me complimentary vegetable fried rolls. The Tom Yum Goong soup was more than superb. It had the perfect balance of sour and spicy, making for probably the best soup broth I have ever had. You can definitely see the dedication from the chefs just from the presentation of the food alone. All the waitresses were very polite too. I gotta go back and try their curry and noodle dishes. If you ever wondered if you can get authentic Thai food in southern Alabama, the answer is Thai House!
(5)Brian S.
Back again! Thai house is consistently excellent, great food and service. I am glad I come to Dothan several times per year and have a good dinner to look forward to. Had thom yum goong soup, super tasty. Try the Musamam curry, mild with awesome coconut flavor.
(5)Joe R.
Above average Thai. Fantastic atmosphere. Great table settings and decor. Food is a notch above typical.
(4)Alisha N.
Delicious pad Thai. This is the kind of place that puts the napkin on your lap for you. Super slow service tho, took a little over an hour altogether. Two people's meals came out a solid five minutes before the other two people at our table. Over all a pleasant experience.
(4)candid m.
was in the backwoods of alabama and went in. great thai food. i had the thai rolls fried, they were greasy..bleh. i followed that with a classic, red curry chicken..it was delicious. i thought it was kinda awkward to have grape tomatoes and actual grapes in it, but it was delicious nevertheless. if they're reading this review..its not grapes, grape tomatoes and pineapple..its bell peppers, both colors, bamboo shoots, and lots of basil.. great nevertheless
(3)Mark C.
Very well prepared Thai food, although more a American version, but outstanding , especially for Alabama. Have to try it! We have eaten Thai all over and this beats almost all. Very friendly happy staff and food was very fresh and hot.
(5)Melissa V.
My last day in Dothan... the owner gave me a hug! LOVED the FOOD....LOVED the SERVICE! Best spicy Drunken Noodles EVER!! If you can't take the spicy you can always ask for mild. Another great dish is the Spicy Steak with Sticky Rice...WOWZERS!! Dip the steak in the tamarind spicy sauce... MAGNIFICENT!! The tom yum kung is similar to other Thai places but definitely tasty. Thai House is a MUST in Dothan!
(5)Michael M.
My wife and I have eaten in Thai Restaurants in Thailand, Western Europe, Canada, and across the US....this is the best we've experienced. The food was fresh and excellently seasoned, the service and atmosphere was great and very authentic.
(5)Muriel M.
Update! This place is so great. We have been going here for the last two years, and we love it. It is hands down the best Thai food we have ever had. We had our family come down and visit for Thanksgiving weekend, they loved the food and experience so much that we ate here twice Thanksgiving weekend. Love this place.
(5)sarah w.
This place has decent Thai food. The waitstaff is always very friendly and helpful. Their curries are pretty good and their appetizers tend to be pretty decent as well. It's a nice place to go for dinner with consistently good food.

Redemption: Well, after going to the same places repeatedly for our date nights, my husband and I decided to give Thai House another try. To my surprise, it was actually really good. My dish was, anyway. I got the green curry chicken, which is my favorite Thai dish. The base was creamy, with a really good flavor. Not as spicy as I typically like it, but the perfect consistency. My husband, I guess, wasn't quite as satisfied as I was. He ordered some kind of steak dish. It was called "tiger"-something. It was no more than thinly chopped lettuce with even thinner chopped steak atop. Needless to say, he wasn't extremely pleased about his dinner...and that's mainly because he ordered one of the most expensive items on the menu. I would probably return and try maybe Pad-Thai or something unique. We'll see. The decor, dinnerware, ambience is really attractive and the service was very good.

delish thai food in bama

Love the food, the ambiance and the service. So beautifully decorated and calming, I relax as soon as I walk through the doors.

I was in Dothan, AL for work and found this place across the street from where I was staying. Tried it out and omg it's wonderful!!! I could not believe I was able to get authentic Thai food in Dothan, AL!! The people are so friendly and the ambiance is cute and quiet. I had the pad thai and the tom yong goong and it was delightful. The crab ragoon appetizers are just as great and to finish it up.... definitely try their mango sticky rice!! awesome!!!
(5)Jay E.
I have eaten at this restaurant 3 times within the last two weeks and I have been satisfied every time. The restaurant is small but very clean and the decor is really nice and comfortable. I have tried various appetizers, salads, soups, and entree's and they have all been delicous. If you are a fan of Thai food, I recommend this restaurant, hard to believe there's tasty, authentic Thai food in lower Alabama.

Hidden along the seemingly endless suburban mall stretch of U.S. 231 in Dothan is Thai House. If you blink you may miss it among the chain stores and strip malls. If you are a traveler through these parts like I was, or a local seeking a great place for dining, this should be on the top of your list. The décor is tasteful and the colors are pleasing and soothing. It is a very comfortable atmosphere, certainly nothing like a take-out place. You will feel like you are out for an evening of fine dining. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The waiter will place the napkin in your lap for you, and our waiter also entertained a kid in another party with some napkin tricks. But really, you should be here for the food. Most of the menu is traditional Thai ingredients and flavors blended with fine dining staples. I had the lemon grass chicken with salad. The chicken was flavored perfectly and cooked perfectly. The salad was made with a great mix of greens, with no iceberg lettuce to be found. The spices were authentic, but not quite as bold as some of the Thai places I have eaten at in Chicago. This was a bit of a surprise, given how flavorful the Southern palate is. They have several vegetarian options on the menu for those who are so inclined. For some road-weary travelers who were tired of chain restaurant after chain restaurant, you definitely need to dine here. And if you live in the area, and you do not yet know about this place, it should be in the middle of your radar so you can try it out at the next opportunity. You will not be disappointed.
(4)Sara S.
EAT HERE! The food is absolutely amazing...as is the wait staff. Seriously, I can't think of any restaurant I would rather go to, and I'm not even a Thai food freak! This was a regular place for my husband and I when we lived in E-prise, AL. Seriously, try it. Even though it's in a 'strip mall'. I really wish I discovered it long before we had to move! It's not expensive at all...especially for the quality and quantity of food! You must order the Crab Rangoons!
(5)Stephen C.
very good thai entry..the only reason not 5 star is that the soup was light on chicken, but the taste was authentic and savory!!!
(4)Nicole B.
I was visiting my sister at Fort Rucker and she kept raving about this Thai place. I come from the Northwest and in my neighborhood we have 6 Thai restaurants in a 4 block radius, all pretty good, so I wasn't expecting much from an Alabama Thai House. And I have to say, the Thai House blew me away. I don't know how this gem of a restaurant landed in Dothan, but it is hands-down the best Thai food I have ever eaten in the US. The currys were served in minature gold chafing dishes to keep the curry warm, the grilled salmon was perfectly prepared, and the wait staff was charming. They even prepared custom iced Thai green tea drinks for us that were fantastic. And they remembered my sister and provided a special celebratory graduation dessert for us which was wonderful. Highly recommend this place if you are traveling through the area.
