This a great little family owned, family friendly pizza joint! The atmosphere is laid back, the food is great and the staff is friendly. I like to go on Wednesdays for $2.00 off L or XL pizzas..yum!!! :) they have a game room in the back that has all the classic arcade games I remember from growing up...fun to stop in while waiting on a pie to cook. I think next time I'll try the shrimp Alfredo...the waitress said it got first place in some local contest....sounds good to me!! Can't wait to go back!

I've eaten lots of pizza, all over the world and I have to say, this place makes wonderful pizza. The crust is thin and crispy, the toppings are generous and flavorful. The interior of the restaurant isn't much to look at, but the pizza is worth it.

For Alabama, this is about as good as it gets for thin crust pizza that is NOT a chain. Very tasty and the staff is very friendly...I usually order a pie to go and while I'm waiting I order a beer and drink it while I'm waiting. They could use a remodel and updating.....very dated inside.

I cannot believe I have lived in Decatur for 20 years and I had never eaten at Alfonso's. My adult children recommended it to me and my husband but we just never got around to checking it out. We have eaten there the last TWO Friday nights! The atmosphere is very homey and love the booths that allow you to have a quiet dinner. Wait staff is very friendly and efficient! We had the cheesy bread appetizer....a small loaf bread topped with mozzarella and feta cheese, served with marinara. Normally I do not like marinara but Alfonso has won me over with the fresh nicely seasoned sauce! We had the Chef's special pizza and it was very tasty. The crust is thin which is fine with me...but I know some people prefer thick crust. Will definitely go back to try some of their Italian dishes that are on the extensive menu!

The pizza is great, especially the Chef's special. Crispy thin crust, lots of cheese, and (unlike most pizzerias) they put the cheese on top. But don't worry, there's lots of toppings under all that great cheese. The baked spaghetti is also good. The lasagna is OK, it's relatively thin, baked, and then topped with tomato/meat sauce. The salad is so-so, basically just iceberg lettuce. Service is friendly and efficient. The decor is dated and dingy, like from the eighties (they could really use some new carpet, booths, and light fixtures!), but I keep going back for that pizza.... even if I have to order it as take-out.

Ok, people...this is some seriously good pizza...anyone who grew up in Huntsville eating Terry's Pizza should come to Alfonso's...It's the closest thing you'll ever get to Terry's Pizza (circa 1970-1985)! The pizza is EXCELLENT..the atmosphere is typical of an established pizza joint...nothing fancy..but you don't come to a restaurant to "eat" the atmosphere!!! The pizza is authentic, thin crust, old world style pizza...out of this world!! When asked if I rather go to the Bonefish Grill or Alfonso's for my birthday dinner, I chose Alfonso's...hands down!!! Give it a try..you won't be disappointed!!!!

Feels like I am eating inside a cave. It so dark and dreary. Service is bad, have to ask for my 2nd beer. Been eating at Alfonso's since 1992 and it seems to be getting worse. They still serve a decent pizza!

Some really great pizza. They serve a thin crust style pizza that's hard to compare to anything else I've ever tried. Try the chefs special. The building isn't much to look at on the inside but we're lucky to have local places like this left.

My friend and I had heard people at work talk about going here so we thought we'd give it a try. The inside was a bit dreary feeling and musty smelling. We ordered a ham and pineapple pizza since a large pizza was the lunch special for the day. We were highly dissapointed. The sauce lacked flavor, the cheese was chewy, and the crust was soggy. Bleh...not even worth a do-over.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
