The perfect home - feel stop to have a bite to eat. Staff is super friendly and even other locals who seemed to have been regulars greet you with a hello. The best part is the restroom where it seals the deal of feeling like you're actually having breakfast at a friends Home. Just what we were looking for ! I had an omelet which didn't even need ketchup to taste saucy :) and my mom had banana nut panckaes. Delish ! Thanks East Shore Cafe !

Best breakfast on eastern shore. Omelets are great as well as the french toast. A regular spot for our family. Also, very reasonably priced. Great food at a great value.

Great service. Outstanding breakfast. Outside seating was very accommodating to small children.

The service is quick, very friendly. Food is delicious. The place gets busy really quick, esp on Sundays when church lets out

Awesome place! Excellent breakfast!!

I used their catering services last night and the food was outstanding. They also provided great service at a fair price. Will use them again for sure.

Went for breakfast after reading the reviews, but turns out they stop serving breakfast at 11 on Sundays. :( boo. They were sold out of a whole bunch of things, but I had a club sandwich which was very good. So, for a good little sandwich it was a good place. Friendly staff and good menu with some different options.

If you want to get a sample of the local community or meet your neighbors go to breakfast here on a Saturday. You'll be shoulder to shoulder with the other customers in their cozy dining room. The church crowd fills this place on Sunday morning so expect a wait. They make a fine breakfast. Their eggs are cooked to perfection and the French toast was great also. I had no complaints. This place wins hands down for breakfast in my book for this area. Definitely heads above Buck's in Fairhope. The staff is friendly and they always made sure my coffee was hot but they weren't overbearing like at some other places. I would recommend East Shore Cafe to anyone!

I don't understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews, this place is pretty disappointing. It's possible that they have some things that they do well but I would advise you to avoid any of the crab items. I've always heard great things about this place and how wonderful the crab cakes supposedly are. I should have known better. I have lived on the Gulf Coast my entire life and as far as I know there are no restaurants that serve real crab cakes. And the ones served at the East Shore Cafe are the run of the mill, frozen, Stovetop stuffing hockey pucks that you can find at any area seafood restaurant, only these are thinner, flatter, and larger in diameter. The waitress verified this when she told us that, "we're out of lump crab meat but we have plenty of crab cakes".... A real crab cake is mostly lump crab meat, which btw, is readily available in our area... The crab cakes were disappointing but, at least they did have some crab flavor. The "Dauphin Island Corn and Crab Chowder", on the other hand, had absolutely no noticeable crab meat or flavor,(probably because they were out of lump crab meat). It tasted like someone mixed cream, canned corn and a few onions together, heated it to just barely above room temperature, and forgot to add any salt, seasonings or crab. My wife and I looked at each other and agreed that we wont be coming back.

Casual dining place and friendly staff makes a great morning breakfast spot! When not work or on a Saturday morning is a spot for breakfast with friends! The oatmeal and breakfast sandwich is a favorite of friends, a must try.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. I come here every week for a meeting. Their food is home cooked and good. The service is AMAZING. The waiters and waitresses are truly some of the nicer people you'll ever meat.

Nice, Little Café in Nice, Little Daphne Looking for a good breakfast in these parts? East Shore Café fills the bill. Nothing there will send you to 5 star euphoria. But everything is good. It is nice that there are light/smaller versions of some of the menu items for smaller eaters. Stop on in and tell them that I sent you.

Bless the South for knowing how to make iced tea (visiting my home state from California). Friendly, fast, and excellent service. Tuna salad sandwich and cole slaw were very good. I broke my lactose intolerant rule and tasted the corn and crab chowder... Fantastic example of good coastal southern cuisine.

Very ordinary. The food at East Shore Cafe was not particularly good or bad, just okay. The menu is very limited and consists of very basic dishes anyone could make at home: tuna and chicken salad sandwiches, iceberg lettuce salads, soups, etc. I was a bit bothered by the cleanliess of the restaurant. There was food splattered on the wall next to our table, which it appeared no one had bothered to wipe of for quite some time. I did not care for the ambiance at all. The decor could be described as tacky at best. Nothing worth going back for in my opinion.

Great food!!!! Great service!!! Love going here and eying outside - they have dog bowls for water for your pups if you eat outside which is a fun and unique thing to find and place to go. Staff is very personable and the food is VERY good. Definitely a local favorite that deserves a try!

My first visit to East Shore Café was on a Sunday after church. All I can remember is that one of us had the crab cake sandwich, and it was very good. I can't remember what the anyone else had. I can't remember what kind of soup we had, but I do remember we enjoyed it. We sat at a table facing a wall. The old house was cute from the outside, but the inside just didn't appeal to me. That sums up my entire first visit: Good food, service and prices, boring atmosphere, nothing memorable. Last weekend, we had friends in from out of town that wanted to meet us for breakfast. Reading that they had a great breakfast, we suggested East Shore Café. Other reviewers were right. This is likely the best breakfast in town! I had the eggs, bacon, raisin toast and grits. The hubs had a ham, swiss and mushroom omelet, toast and grits, and the boy had pancakes and bacon. Our friends had the same things we had, only their child had French toast instead of pancakes. All of the dishes came with a side of fruit. Nothing was super greasy and it was all cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious, especially the homemade strawberry preserves. It was obviously very memorable, because I've yet to stop thinking about it. To make it even better, each meal was less than $10, with drinks. If anyone is looking for me on a Saturday morning, this is a good place to start looking. It's our new favorite breakfast spot!

Excellent food! The crab cakes are delicious! We enjoyed eating outside with our little kids.

Nice little spot in downtown Daphne. Came here for after church brunch and it was pretty busy. I ordered the Belgian Waffles and they were pretty good. My bacon came in a ring, how cool is that?! Our waitress was a friend so that was a plus. Had a nice homey feel to it, will be back for sure
(4)Zack W.
The grits are NOM NOM NOM NOM. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was inviting. Being in the heart of downtown Daphne, it's an excellent pit stop for travelers in their way to Mobile or Gulf Shores.

Best breakfast in Baldwin County! Cafe plate or omelette with the phenomenal grits and rye toast! Num num num!

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday around 12:00. They do have somewhat limited seating, but we were able to seat immediately. Service was good. Food was excellent. Wife enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. I went out on a limb and tried the Muffalotta sandwich which was extremely good. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful atmosphere. They hire local kids as servers and washers to get experience in the field. They have great sandwiches and soups and they will definitely take care of you. I love it here! I have so many memories here.

This is a darling little cafe located near downtown Daphne. When I first visited the area my family and I stopped for a quick lunch. We had sandwiches and soups, but what I had remembered most after 2 years was the adorable little home that houses the restaurant, and the KEY LIME PIE! Now that I've moved to the area and have tried the menu a few more times, my favorites are the crab cakes (probably the best in the Mobile area), the honey pecan chicken salad sandwich, and the tomato bisque soup! All incredibly fresh and delicious. The only reason I gave this a 4 star and not a 5 is because for my birthday this past weekend we went for dinner. The food was good, but not great. Their lunch menu is a lot better and more flavorful. They should stick with simplicity and focus on flavor development with their dinner menu because that's what they're good at! Overall great little spot for lunch!

Good food, and I was a first-timer. Since I "massed" yesterday I sneaked in while everyone else was in the church across the street and enjoyed an old-fashioned, work-out requiring breakfast. The service was quite good, the portions large and my pancakes were soooo fluffy! The location is convenient, yet quaint. Word on "the street" is that the crabcakes are excellent. I am very picky about my 'cakes and will try them here soon.

You know how great it feels when you go to a place once, and when you go back the second time they remember your name? This is that place. I went for breakfast after church. I had to hurry, because I heard it was always crowded. I heard right. Great Café Plate for breakfast. I went back with a group of friends last Sunday for lunch. They remembered me!!! My friends were in the mood for Reubens. They enjoyed them. I had a crab cake sandwich, and a cup of soup. It was awesome!!!!

Glad I found this place! A very unique small town cafe with great food and service.

Great little place to go after church or anytime, I'm sure! Have not been other than lunch time. The corn chowder soup is our favorite! Our 19 yr old loves this place, too. After reading Kerry's review ....we need to try and go for breakfast and dinner!!
(5)John W.
Best crab cake sandwich anywhere. The tea is delicious. Also tried the chicken-parm and loved it. Nice atmosphere with outdoor seating on the covered portch and kitchy red picnic tables in the yard.
(5)Amme P.
Set in a charming old house, you can expect good service and sweet tea. The menu is all over the map - crab cakes are a standard as are fajitas, greek salads and quiche. I'd skip the cookies.

Best breakfast on eastern shore. Omelets are great and grits are a good side dish. Service is always friendly and atmosphere is cute. Nice place to eat.
(5)Justin W.
Great service, delicious food and great prices. The best we have found in the area. We will be back.
(5)Paul M.
Crab cakes are their specialty and they are excellent! I had the veggie pita and my wife had a half sandwich and soup. Her half sandwich was huge and the soup was great! (I stole a bite) My veggie pita was over flowing with fresh veggies! We will be back for sure to try breakfast and their quiche! Service was quick and kind. The place is an old house so the seating is a bit crowded but it's worth it!

A charming restaurant, which in turns, is in a house, over 100 years old. Very eclectic. Breakfast is THE BEST IN TOWN. We had the omelet, fluffy and light, which is served with grits, toast and fruit. The Blueberry French toast is to die for. They also have pancakes, waffles, and traditional French toast. (As well as many other options) Service is great and very helpful. We have been for lunch also, and their CRAB-CAKES are to die for. We had a table of six, one of my co-workers had the Reuben. Verbatim, "best Reuben he's ever had". I forgot to mention their signature soup, Corn and Crab Chowder. EAT THERE. You won't be disappointed. Prices are VERY reasonable. Decided to give it a whirl for dinner on the weekend, and I had the Buffalo Filet Mignon, served with potato gratin and asparagus. ABSOLUTELY mouth watering. This was on their "Feature" board. And if you drink beer or wine, it's BYOB, which makes it even BETTER. Again, you won't be disappointed. Quality food, and very reasonable prices.

We had been here for breakfast a few weeks ago -- I had the "regular" French toast with a side of bacon and my husband had the banana nut French toast -- both were very good. We went there for a late lunch this weekend and sat at one of the small tables on the porch-- we both had the crab cake (served with a drizzle of what tasted like a grainy mustard/mayo combo) and a cup of the crab and corn chowder -- both very tasty. Since we'd had a light lunch, we decided to have dessert -- I loved the homemade key lime pie and my husband enjoyed his brownie (huge!) with cookies & cream ice cream and whipped cream. We also like the staff here -- very accommodating and friendly.

This place is good. It's almost a bit TOO homelike and casual for me, but it's still good. The breakfast and brunch is ESPECIALLY good. All around, good. Good.
(4)Kara W.
Settle in on the porch with a sweet tea, and prepare yourself for the best crab cakes you'll ever eat. The restaurant is charming and eclectic, the menu full of simple but tasty sandwiches, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food isn't fast, but food worth eating rarely is. There's no better place for lunch on a beautiful spring day in Daphne.
(4)Tracy M.
My family loves to eat breakfast here! The best pancakes and french toast we have ever had!! My kids call it "The Little house" and we also love their cheese grits....yummm
