This is if not the best place I have ever eaten a burger it in the top 2 or 3. The food was wonderful,the staff great it was a defiantly a pleasure to dine there. A hidden jewel in Clanton Alabama. I was here on a trip and found this place thru Yelp and the reviews were right on target. If you find yourself on I 65 and hungry between Birmingham and Montgomery stop in you want be disappointed.

We stopped here for lunch on a road trip from Indianapolis to Mobile, AL. It's a nice place in town. They had a variety of sandwiches and burgers on the menu. They serve bread and butter for a starter. The cowboy burger was good. They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, it came out well done. The flavor was really good though. My husband had a chicken dish and salad. The waitress did her best to accommodate our special requests (I.E. No bun, sub fruit for fries, etc). We would go back again.

If you're heading south and I 65, you cannot find a better place to grab a bite just three miles off the highway in a cute little quaint town. Helfis is a hidden treasure.

Decided to take a chance on this place as we headed from TN to FL. It was a few miles off the highway, but all the great reviews seemed to make this slight side trip worthwhile. We were not lead astray. Sandwiches and burgers made fresh. I had the steak and cheese and my wife had a burger. Both were great. Take the exit and go the extra mile; these folks will do the same to make your experience a great one. Lots of locals here but we were never felt to be a stranger. Great service.

Helfi's, very close to 5 stars but just barely missed the mark. Let me explain. First and foremost, the place is worth it. Come off the highway and find it. The construction hurts them a little as you can't see the front of the restaurant however due to persistence and a lucky sighting I was able to find it. Initial impressions...I like it. Small and quaint with good decor and very clean. First impressions are great. Wait staff...The girl I had serving me (I'm sorry I forgot her name) was extremely friendly and helpful. Seemed to know the menu well and what the restaurant is "known" for. Ok, now here is where they missed the fifth star. I am a HUGE bruschetta fan so when I saw it on their menu I was happy. I ordered it and was disappointed. It wasn't bad, however it looked ill-prepared. The bread was toasted perfectly, however it looked like they just threw some tomato, basil and shredded mozzarella cheese sort of hap-haphazardly. Plus, I have never seen bruschetta without olive oil and I lived off it in Italy for a year. Helfi's, put a little more toast on the entire bruschetta, drizzle some olive oil, and let 'er rip. Ok, the entree. I did ask what Helfi's was known for and of the two that really grabbed my attention tonight (they all sounded good) was the Philly Cheesesteak and the Prime Rib Sandwich. It was a toss up but I ordered the Prime Rib. It came out and looked delicious with the bread full of meat. When I bit into it the succulent flavor of the grilled meat along with their "horseradish" sauce (beware not traditional horseradish but good none the less) I was hooked. The buttered roll was toasted yet soft and as I said their sauce was delicious with a touch of spicyness. If you don't like spicy ask for a sample of the sauce first. The sandwich was salty-but not in a negative way. It came with a side of fries that appeared to be an afterthought (they looked reheated). But overall a great experience. I would almost drive from Birmingham to get another sandwich. I will make sure I stop there again if I'm headed south. They're also known for a monster burger so I think I will try the burger next time.

The menu is trendy and has lots of options. When I searched Yelp, Helfies seemed unique and more upscale than all other options around. I would have given 5 stars, but lettuce was old in my salad. It never should have left the kitchen. My wrap was great. Don't let the construction keep you away. There's parking in the back. Even with the bad salad, this place is a gem in the area.

Hands down one of the best burger places I've ever been to... Or maybe it was the 10 hour drive. Either way, this place gets 4 stars for friendly staff, cleanliness and food quality. The burgers were cooked to order at well done and medium rare. So juicy and flavorful.. I wish I could have another, but the road doesn't stop there :)

Me and a friend were back road riding and stopped and asked a local of Clanton where was the best local Mom and Pop place around. Well we got lost but found Helfi's Grill. I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich and friend ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and both were phenomenal. Fresh to cook, homemade fries, sweet tea was just right. This used to be the best place in town. I miss those days. Now it is hit or miss. A hit would be 5 stars and a miss would be around 2. Service is the same. Expect your sandwich to have hot meat and cold buns unless you ask for it to be heated. (They used to not do that). And if they run out of buns they may not inform you and just substitute some sub par bun. I used to want to eat here all the time. But it got so inconsistent, I only visit 2-3 months now.
