Had lunch on Friday and as always - the service and food was outstanding. I had fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. All homemade and ingredients were fresh. This is a family owned place and they go the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy. Mama that walks around and checked on us is so sweet!! Chris(one of the owners) at the register was friendly and helpful with answering our large groups questions. I highly recommend this family restaurant!!

We arrived at the Birmingham Amtrak early. A very nice street person told us about Sol's. the 4 of us headed over to the place for the best sandwiches, soup, and wraps anywhere. I'm a food professional from the Bay Area of California and the sandwiches were just as good or better at Sol's. the next time we're in town...Sol's here we come!

Sol's is a nice place to catch an extended lunch break. While they are a bit pricey, their food is good. I love having a place right near work that has daily meat + 3 specials.

I have never had a bad meal from Sol's. My co workers and I have Sol's on average 1x a week and none of us have ever been disappointed. They owner is super nice and knows me well from our frequent visits. They have even helped me carry food to my car before. The Camel Rider is amazing and you can never go wrong with a Philly!

Overall the epitome of a great lunch spot in downtown Birmingham. If you want something filling, something light, or have a picky eater in the group. A great spot. It is wide open and bright. I have always gone in after the lunch rush. So I've never had a wait. But I am sure during lunch this place is filled with people from suits and ties to reflective construction vests. I had the burger and fries. Great burger. Not in my top 3 of Birmingham. But a quality burger overall. Fresh fluffy toasted bun and high quality meat. I don't think the fries are hand cut, but still good. If I could use one word to describe Sol's... Solid. It is not my go to every time I'm downtown, but I'm happy every time I go.

The food here is good. It really is. But I don't get the love it gets. It's only three stars - but it's a really high three stars. It's only so low because birmingham has so many more interesting restaurants in the city. It's hard to give a normal deli more than three stars. As far as your normal sandwich shops go (Think subway, jimmy johns, etc.) it at the top of the bunch. They use quality meats. It's hard to get excited about their bread when many sandwich shops are using bread from local bakeries. Their chili is good with a grilled cheese, but with the beans and tomatoes it's not the best for a hot dog. I'll give it four stars because it's better than most places, but why would you stop and get a sandwich, hot dog, or meat and veggies here when you've got better options close by that have more interesting menus and does each thing better? If you love Chain Restaurants this is your spot, but if you crave adventurous food pass on this!

Sol's catered the writing workshop I went to this summer. Their burgers were amazing! They had a turkey, beef, and black bean burger selection. There is rarely a sandwich shop that has vegetarian options! This is a great place to come if youre hungry for a burger but youre with your vegetarian friend. Both of you will be pleased!

This is my kinda place--big, tasty burgers and sandwiches with an impressive variety of side dish options (gumbo, okra, chili oh my!). Parking is better than most places in the area thanks to a free deck. I had the pimento cheese bacon burger with fries, and it had everyone at the table coming down with a case or order envy. Will be back soon to start taking on all the sandwiches.

Man. I've worked downtown on and off for years. How have I never discovered this little gem? Probably because it's a little off the beaten path in the old Bank for Savings building on Morris Avenue. But walk in the door and find it crowded, and you know it's a place that's popular. What's more, given how everybody seems to be on a first-name basis with the customers it seems to be a place people come back to again and again. Had the Reuben served up piping hot. The hummus was also really good. Now, it took a while to get our food, but it was really worth the wait.

Ok, I gave it 4 stars, Yay! I'm a fan, but almost because I had to. What I like is the convenience, it's almost right out the back door of my office. It's a decent place, kept clean, with a friendly staff, etc. Nice menu, extensive selection of sandwiches, hot foods, salads, etc. Many are very nice, very tasty. My only issue, the one that keeps me from giving up that last star, is the prices. Man, I just hate spending $10 for a sandwich and a soda at lunch. Just ruins it for me. The have specials every day but I wish they had some kind of quickie lunch deal. I mean, I just don't need a MASSIVE sandwich with sides, etc. for $10. I'd love a simple sandwich, maybe with a bag of chips and a drink for $5. Give me that and I'm over 3-4 times a week. The food is good, no complaints. I've even used them for catering a breakfast which was very well done. I just wish I could get lunch for $5.

Ordered for a lot of people in the office. Everyone loved what they got. I think we will be ordering from here more often! I had the Mexicali, which was very good! The delivery took a little longer than expected, but we were given a reason and the food definitely made up for it!
