I've been here a LOT and apparently have forgotten to write the glowing review this place deserves. Best sushi in Birmingham! Extensive menu - if you want it, you'll find it here. Delicious, fresh, flavorful. Cooked noodles and such are available, but I'm a sushi fanatic and I come here strictly for that. The seaweed salad is delicious as well - great seaweed to cucumber ratio. Great - now I want more sushi.

The shrimp bowl is awesome. The sushi is great and not expensive. My friends and I come in here frequently and the employees are always very nice and friendly. I've never been disappointed in as many times as we've visited here. It's in a shopping mall which threw us off a little at first, but it's very nice!

The 911 Sushi Rolls are out of this world. Great place for a casual or business lunch. The restaurant is very quiet. My only complaint is how slow the service was. Half of our party of 8 were done eating before 2 were even served.

This is a relatively new place on Caldwell Mill Road near its intersection with Valleydale Road. We ate here for the first time at 6:00 P.M on Monday. The place had customers but was far from full. I had the deluxe Sushi sampler with Sake and my wife had shrimp tempura. The food was unbelievably fresh. My sampler had pretty well every type of fish on it. There was maki, nigiri, and sashimi served with the requisite ginger and wasabi. It was very fresh. My wife said her shrimp was the best she has ever had because of the light batter and fresh shrimp. Service was very good and helpful. The decor was good. The restaurant is housed in a new, never before used space. I would recommend giving this place a try. Besides sushi they have teriyaki, hibachi, Korean short galbi ribs, tempura, katsu, bowls, fried rice, noodles and special lunches. They have beer and wine. I am not sure about the bar as I did not check that out. Besides table service they have a sushi bar and chef where you can sit, and order whatever you want made to order from the display.

Best sushi in Birmingham! Great place for lunch and dinner. The food is better than the more expensive Sushi places in Birmingham and it has a nice modern interior. My wife had a Hibachi dinner box and I had the Sushi Sashimi combo. We also had the jalapeño white tuna roll. Very good! My wife commented several times on how good the rice was also. Service is very fast and the servers are extra nice. Good prices and great food!

Hidden away in a strip mall but definitely worth looking for. It's just down from Publix and near a Taco Bell. It looks closed from the outside, but the interior is very nice. We finally tried it and loved the food. It is our favorite Japanese restaurant. We each have our favorite: udon, tempura, sushi. Very friendly staff. Not part of a chain. I believe it is family owned. Highly recommended!

I was in the area and in the mood for sushi, but had given up until I realized I had forgotten this place was even here. Hopefully it's location won't be to its detriment. My appetite pushed me towards the value of the hibachi chicken meal, which comes with a California roll. I substituted for a shrimp crunch roll for two dollars extra. The meal started with the salad or soup; my server recommended the ginger dressing. The salad was good; the dressing just seemed like a French dressing with a little bit of seasoning mixed in. The fried food was done well; the fried rice was not heavy at all, and the tempura shrimp and vegetables were excellent. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken stirfry vegetables was a little heavy for my taste. I look forward to returning, and will probably stick to sushi; the roll with my meal this time was okay, but I look forward to trying some of their specialty rolls, and more of their tempura fried food.

I think I visited on a bad day maybe? I hope so, all the other reviews were so encouraging. I've been eating sushi forever, and lived with a sushi chef the last 6 years. We ordered the Bin Bin, Burning Man, and a modified Rainbow roll. The rice wrapper on the Bin Bin as well as the wasabi tasted & smelled faintly of mold or mildew. Burning man roll was tasty, although it would have been more enjoyable with wasabi. Most other places put more eel sauce on their rolls; it was missed. I ordered fried rice to go; horrible stuff. There was corn in it which just didn't work flavor-wise. Although I picked it out, the corn had already negatively altered the taste of the rice. It also seemed old. The other veggies in the rice were overcooked. The server was good, no issues. I asked for lychee sake heated if possible. The server said they wouldn't let him do that, it would mess up the flavor. I ordered it anyway. I can understand how heat might not be the best thing. But I also don't think it tasted best from the fridge either. I'm going to vote for room temperature.

Quality quality quality! Service is excellent every time. The fried rices are wonderful and arrive super fast. The freshness & flavor of the sushi is excellent, not to mention the variety. The place is always clean and extremely fair priced! Favorite neighborhood Japanese place ever÷

Osaka has the cheapest and delicious sushi around 280. I love their pork dumplings and calamari. They make their crab on volcano roll, hot, temp wise. Not a lot of other places do that. I probably recommend coming here for sushi over any other places. Try the Shaggy Dog, Volcano, and Yummy Yummy
