So this is my second time dining in and very convenient to my job so I'm happy to be able to add another lunch spot in my rotation! It's also next to Leah's boutique so gives me an excuse to pop in and shop! The decor is not much to talk about other than the lime green walls are very bright and it's clean! The servers are very friendly and attentive. Both times the owner asked us if we liked our dishes and if there were any changes we would like to see. I ordered the spring rolls as an app, they were very oily but the exterior was crispy which I like. I ordered the sushi lunch combo for $9.95 which is very reasonable and it came with an coconut soup or ginger salad. The rest of the lunch menu dishes are mostly priced at $6.95 and come with soup or salad. I opted for the coconut tofu soup which was flavorful and topped with mushrooms. The sushi was also very fresh and tasty. My friend got the pad prik chicken and it looked amazing! It could've been more spicy as indicated by the menu, but it was by no means bland. Overall it's a solid lunch spot! Will be back!

What a find! This restaurant is located where my favorite local Chinese restaurant used to be, but sadly closed...Asian Wok. They were the only place in town that made Yu Shiang Chicken. Can't find it anymore. Guess I'll have to cook that one at home, now. Anyway, Nori is a nice little "hole in the wall", but it is better. Tastefully decorated, friendly staff, & the food is delicious. I ordered the green curry chicken, since it's my favorite Thai dish. Excellent & spicy. Lots of assorted veggies in it. Good sized portion. I don't eat sushi, so I can't comment on that. The space has been cleaned up, redecorated, with a fish tank up front, table service, real silverware :), friendly staff. My new lunch spot. Will have to try for dinner some time.

We were hungry for something Thai, and this place was down the road. It's fairly new so we have it a shot. It's a quaint, hole-in-the-wall place but it's great! Very friendly staff, small easy to navigate menu, and delicious Thai and sushi. We had the rainbow roll, spicy beef noodles, and pad see-u. All three were well prepared, service was quick, and the flavors of each dish were full and amazing. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that is nearby or visiting!

This place is so awesome! Service was good and fast and good was priced well. I had the spicy noodle with chicken had them make it Thai hot for me, because I love my Thai food extremely spicy. It was everything I could hope for in a spicy noodle dish. It was so good... I got a second one to go for tomorrow's lunch. I also had the chicken larb as an appetizer and it was also pretty good and in line with traditional Thai food.

This place is awesome! For the money (especially if you come at lunch), you can get great quality of Thai food and Sushi. Unlike most Asian restaurants where you can find almost the same kind menu, Nori Thai & Sushi seem to be more creative and have some unique foods yet still taste like Authentic Asian food. My children love their Thai fried rice, if you are more adventurous and love spicy food, ask the server about their Herb fried rice. My husband (who is american and kinda picky) loves their Beef Teriyaki and Pad Thai. I'm an Asian, and I love almost all of their food and Sushi. But if I have to pick one favorite, I would say I love the "Nori Catfish" (very crispy!). For dessert, my kids love their fried wonton filled with cream cheese and chocolate. Definitely one of the best Asian restaurants in Birmingham (and very affordable too)!.

Don't let the looks (green!) confuse you. This place is very good, especially for the price! A roll that cost $10 here would cost at least $15 at other places around Bham. The Thai dish my wife had was also very very good!

I've been twice. Had the spicy beef noodles first then sushi rolls last week. Both times the food was very good, came out very fast and friendly service. The sushi lunch special was a good sized portion (14 pieces) and was $10 with a salad. I liked the decor. Bright, clean and contemporary.

This is our favorite Thai and Sushi restaurant, especially for the money. Nothing much on the decor but we love the food. The Coconut Soup is great. The kids love the Pad See-U. The sushi is priced well and fresh. The servers are always attentive and helpful.

Good lunch and dinner. Avoid sushi it's okay not great. Also service is spotty they will bring you your entree before soup. Prices are fair and main Thai and Vietnamese entrees are pretty solid def worth checking out.

I had the larb and the chicken panang. Both were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The wait time was quick and the service was friendly and helpful. I will absolutely eat there again.
One of the best Thai restaurants ever. I go there every week. Haven't tried the sushi yet but all the other stuff like fried rice, panang, mussaman, green curry etc, everything is yummy. And the service is superfast with a smile. Cannot beat that.

There are a lot of good sushi restaurants in Dallas but none that we enjoyed more than Nori. Wish it weren't 700 miles away as it would become our local favorite! "Worth a detour" as Michelin would say.

After only having one Thai place for the most part in town for a number of years it's great to have a new spot. The place is small and efficient. The food was very good and a great value. I don't know of many places you can find a quality lunch combo entree/soup or salad for $6.95. The waitstaff is super attentive and actually seem happy to have you there. That is a rarity with regards to service these days. We had spicy beef noodles, pad prik chicken and pot stickers. Everything we tried was comparable to the other Thai place down the road at significantly less cost. We will go back and try some of the curries.

Probably my favorite place. You can not beat the prices here- best food and wonderful staff! Appetizers- I recommend the crab wontons, spring rolls, and my all time favorite the Tempura Green Beans ( trust me .. they are good!) The sushi is great- I recommend the Blazer Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll. The fried rice is delicious, I always get it with tofu and has a wonderful flavor.

Thrilled to discover this wonderful hidden gem! We've been desperate for even average Thai in the Ham for a long time now, held prisoner to Surin with no other options. But Surin's snobby waiters, overpriced bland uninspired food can finally kiss my lemongrass! Enough about that, let me tell you how much we enjoyed Nori from the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by two super friendly dudes. The green color looked bad in photos but in person I was surprised to like it. The place is immaculate and has a very pleasant energy and positive vibe. Nice music, very comfy booth seats, modern yet warm feel. Woooonderful service with waiter who even brought sample of coconut soup! Which btw is very good! Nice creamy flavor without being fatty, and if you like spicy as I do, they'll bring you the usual chili stuffs to add. Very generous tofu in mine, also avail w/chicken which my bf enjoyed. Not my favorite kha gai but still comforting and yummy. Chicken panang was so delicious that my Pad Thai lovin boyfriend stole my plate after eating half of his! Rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned and seriously the best panang I have ever enjoyed! And we are very fortunate to dine all over the country! I highly recommend! Pad Thai usually makes me wary...it's a common dish so often disappointing. Not at Nori! Omg it was also amazing! Perfect balance of savory, hit of sweet, awesomely spiced, man it was so good I could eat it for bfast right now, lol! And the sushi!!!! Holy cow it felt like we hit the jackpot on everything we ordered! Must try the Blazer roll! Shrimp Tempura with cream cheese, avo and spicy mango sauce...plate was nicely garnished with a few swirls of fresh red beets and bits of strawberries. It was so freaking delicious!!! I love this place, from the waiters to the food to the clean and fresh decor. You can tell the chef actually enjoys cooking and cares about what is coming out of the kitchen. Dishes are seasoned so nicely and thoughtfully. Portions are modest but flavor is huge and you will leave perfectly satisfied! Can't wait to return for the $6.95 lunch specials and to explore more of the menu. Will I ever be able to tear myself away from the Blazer roll, pad Thai and panang?! Lol Half the price of Surin and more than twice as nice, B'ham FINALLY has a great Thai & sushi spot!

Thanks to Yelp we found Nori on a trip from Mississippi to Atlanta. It was absolutely fantastic! My friend and I split the crab angels, potstickers, Blazer roll and spicy noodles with chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, the staff was very courteous, and the food came out fast. We'll be stopping here again!

Nori has my favorite Thai food in Birmingham, and the service is always great. The rock 'n' roll sushi roll is fantastic, as is the coconut soup, which you can get with chicken instead of tofu. I've never had to wait for a table, and the portions are generous. I usually get the chicken massaman, which is delicious. My husband gets the same and always asks for extra spice.

Hidden but wonderful! Food is really delicious, great service and cute place. You need to try the Nori Sushi Roll and fried rice. We've been there 3 times and tried different things, they were all great!!

This place is a little gem tucked away in an unassuming little shopping center over by the Colonnade. I think if they'd tone down the garishly lime green walls just a little bit, they'd have a wait 2 hours long on Friday and Saturday night! The food is wonderful and the service is spot on. They have beer and wine though the selection is small. I love everything I've ever tried in the place which is almost everything on the menu. Their sushi is really good and I have always found it to be super fresh. Do yourself a favor and venture over to this little place. You'll be glad you did!

Nothing went wrong. we were pretty impressed! Server checked on us very frequently and were very nice. I think the owner or maybe manager also came by plenty of times to check on us. He was very friendly and very courteous! Everyone smiled every time! It was infectious! Could not complain about the food at all, everything was well seasoned, not over seasoned or bland. We had the jalapeño yellowtail, lemon twist sashimi and the crispy Rock chicken for starters and everything was great! We also had the crab angel roll and the beef pad see-u. Yum! Everything was just delicious! We're visiting from New Orleans and thanks to yelp, we found this restaurant and are leaving very satisfied!

My 3-star review is based solely on the menu and location, not the uber friendly staff. (If I was rating service, I'd rank it 5-star without hesitation.) However, since Thai is a 'comfort' food of mine (and I lived in BKK for a year), I tend to be pickier at Thai places. The menu offerings are well priced but very basic and were disappointingly 'American Thai'. I was hoping to have seen a Som Tham Thai option, more Isaan style dishes, a wider variety of curry offerings and a sticky rice option. Further, the typical Thai table accoutrements were missing: no fish sauce, so sambal, no saa prik, no dry red pepper... bummer. We ordered Nam Tok and Pad Thai. Both were delivered quickly and with a smile. The Nam Tok was spicy but not proportionate to the 3-chile-pepper warning on the menu. The rice that was included was dry and forgettable... rice done well is neither. The Pad Thai was decent but I wonder if any fish sauce was included... it lacked something and I suspect this may have been it. Fish sauce on the table would have allowed fish-sauce-loving weirdos like me to doctor it up to our heart's content :) All in all, an 'okay' experience but was not remarkable in any way. If the beau's gym was not close by, I wouldn't make the trip to try it again. However, since it is a convenient location to feed his hangry-monster with healthy fare, I will be back. Hopefully I'll discover a dish or two to get excited about and my star-rating will improve.

This restaurant is green. No, seriously, it is literally green--green walls, green chairs, green aquarium, and the employees dress in green. It feels like you're walking into the anteroom of a theme park ride. I ordered the pad prik combo with beef, chicken and tofu with red and green pepper, onions and straw mushrooms in pepper sauce. It was good and they gave me plenty of white rice to go home with that. The extra $3 to add the chicken and tofu isn't worth it. I'd just stick to one 'meat' item.

can I say awesome! the hubby and I have been looking for a quality authentic Thai restaurant in the Birmingham area for quite some time now. Nori fits the bill as well as being very affordable. we ordered five dishes and our total bill came up to only a total $44! For starters we ordered the coconut soup (spicy chicken for me and tofu for the hubby). at $3 I figured it would be a small cup instead it was a nice sized bowl :). very tasty, not too salty, and plentiful chicken and tofu. we also ordered the pot stickers in curry sauce six for $6, this was the pricest thing on the app menu. At first glance I thought it was a little pricey for a appetizer but after tasting them it was well worth it, can I say amazing! For dinner I ordered the pad Thai. I was satisfied, the portions size was plentiful. The dish came with shrimp and chicken which was a plus (at other places shrimp is usually extra). I got it with 3 peppers indicating the spiciness which was also on point. Hubby got the spicy beef noodles and he felt it was seasoned well, the beef tender, and veggies were delicious. We also order the fried rice entree. I have to admit not my favorite Thai fried rice dish, I felt it was lacking in something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was just ok. all in all this will be my go to Thai restaurant in Birmingham!

We've gotten take out a couple times.... The nam tok beef ( very chewy) spicy tuna rolls (ok). I compare to Surin and I guess you get what you pay for bc Surin is a lot better. We didn't get rice with our nam tok, not sure if they forgot to pack or you have to ask for it, so that was disappointing when we sat down to share-the menu doesn't say...

Not the ABSOLUTE worst Thai food I've ever had but it wasn't what I'd call good either. The pad thai was very syrupy sweet and the basil roll skin was extremely tough and the cucumber inside the basil roll was mushy. It didn't help that the waitress kept insisting that I try the spring roll next time since its FRIED(next time will never come). I did give an extra star because most of the staff was prompt and courteous.

This place was awesome! My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken coconut soup which was great! It did have a high salt but it was flavorful. Our entrees consisted of the lamb. I was expecting 2 big lamb chops but we got 4-5 little ones with awesome sauce, cabbage, steamed rice, veggies, and mushrooms. The lamb was cooked to perfection! I would recommend and would definitely return!

The quality of the food is great. We eat there every Tuesday. Coconut Tofu Soup, Nom Tok Beef, Fried rice, spring rolls, chicken panang, & 3 Flavor Fish are some of our regular selections.

Came for dinner and upon my arrival was greeted by a very nice woman with a great smile. Server came right over and asked if I would like a drink. Broght my drink and asked if I would like any recommendations. He recommended the Three Flavor Fish. And it was seriously one of the best meals ive ever had. I might come back tomorrow and order the same thing.

I love this place for lunch! Always fast. Always good. Sometimes they get my order wrong but they are quick to correct it. I love the spicy beef salad and the nam sod the most. I always order hot tea too. It's different than most places, it is served in a mug with a tea bag. But they will bring you more if you ask. My coworkers like the pad Thai and chicken panang. Fairly small place but usually no wait. Lime green walls are a bit to be desired but it's their thing. I haven't had the sushi yet but I will try it soon and update the review. I haven't had their wine or beer yet either but the beer selection was good. Last time I went home with a bottle of their ginger dressing and yum yum sauce. I haven't opened the yum yum sauce yet but I used the ginger dressing every day this week! It's delicious.

Tried Nori today for the first time. Only ordered the Roll Tide Roll to go. Nothing special about the atmosphere. Same atmosphere as a deli. Waited 10 minutes for the roll. Reasonably priced at $10. Roll was very good. I will go back for a sit down meal and a more comprehensive review.

I think people who have given this place 5 stars must've been either really hungry or something is wrong with their taste buds. This is by far the WORST Thai food I have ever had in life. So for starters we ordered the super crunch and vegetables spring rolls which tasted like the ones from Costco which even Costco it actually tasted better. For entree we had Spicy Noodles with Shrimp which was decent. Okay now this order is what RUINED it all for me. The Cat fish, my god it was the worst I've ever had, honestly it was so bad. It was basically fried and than dripped with this watery sauce. It turned into a soggy cat fish and tasted very stale with absolutely no flavor at all. I seriously wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stepped out with a $50 check. Ugh!!

I heard about Nori from Yelp and was excited to try it out. I love Thai food and the prospect of having one fairly close to home sounded great. I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not very busy but I was well taken care of by the friendly and attentive staff. I'm not a sushi eater so didn't try any. But I did have the Veggie Delight with Chicken and the included cup of Coconut Tofu Soup. Both items were very good, with very fresh vegetables and nicely seasoned. I'll definitely be going back and also grabbing some take out after work.

Can't tell you how much I enjoyed the basil rolls and spicy noodle dish with chicken. Very good and so convenient to the Colonnade Parkway area I normally stay at while visiting Birmingham. Check this place out if you're in the area and looking for Thai or sushi!

As Ee says the place is definitely very green, but it didn't bother me. The food was amazing. We had the Nom Tok Beef and the Ka Proud Lamb. I ordered the lamb extra spicy although they tried to talk me out of it. I did not regret my choice at all. This is a Thai restaurant that has not dumbed down the spiciness for the American crowd so unless you like it very spicy avoid the hotter dishes. All I can say is that the beef dish was wonderful but the lamb was amazing. I loved the spicy coconut soup as well but a friend did not like it very much. It is all a matter of your tastes. I had the Godzilla Roll but enjoyed a friend's basic eel roll better. Again it is all a matter of taste. The food was fresh and wonderfully prepared. The owner and the server were both eager to please. The prices are very reasonable. The best part of this restaurant is that it is less than 5 minutes from my house! I will definitely go there again.

Come for lunch and you will not leave hungry or with an empty wallet. A friend and I had a lunch entree each and split a lunch sushi combo (#2) and we paid about $13 each. Pretty good for a sit down place! I got the spicy beef noodle and it was as good, if not better, than the version I get at Surin. I could have definitely taken home leftovers but it was just too good. My friend got pad thai and she said it was excellent. The coconut soup you can get with an entree tastes fresh with the right amount of heat. And everyone waiting on us was super nice! Their menu is not super extensive but I definitely want to come back and try their other dishes, and some of their appetizers!

Went to Nori for the second time today during lunch hour (first time was dinner and it was fast). I called ahead to order take out at 11:58am (that's right, it says on the receipt). The lady over the phone told me it would take 15 min for food to be ready. 36 minutes later, I walked out the restaurant with my takeout and the wrong side order (which I did not know at the time, only realized after getting back to the office). PROs: 1. Reasonable lunch menu (around $6 entree with either soup or salad) and the portion is good. 2. The food was pretty tasty - too bad I won't be going back. Okay, now let's go to the CONs part: 1. Worst service ever. The only girl who was working at the front counter obviously did not know what she's doing. She gave the customer before me the wrong orders and they took about 5 min trying to figure out the entire order while there was a line of 3 people waiting to pick up their call ahead take out order. There were two other servers at the restaurant but none came to her rescue. It is simply unacceptable to take almost 40 mins for a simple one entree take out order to be ready, especially when you were told it would be ready in 15 min. 2. When the front desk girl filled the cup with ice cubes, she put too much in it . She then used her BARE HAND to push the ice cubes back to the cup. Keep in mind she handled money and credit cards...really dirty things and yet she used her bare hand to touch food? Unacceptable. 3. I ordered salad, my receipt says I ordered salad, yet I got soup instead. Imagining my disappointment when I got coconut soup. Such bummer. Needless to say this was an unpleasant visit which will prevent me from going back there again.

Tried this place on yelp recommendations and was pleased. Went at lunch and it wasn't busy but quite steady. My appetizer was the basil roll with a great peanut sauce and I ordered the godzilla roll as my entrée. Both delicious. The staff was welcoming and very attentive, I even had one staff member recommend her favorite dish to me- I will probably stick with that next time. I'm not too familiar with Thai food but from yelp recommendations and staff suggestions, I'll venture beyond the sushi next time. The only thing I didn't enjoy was a sirius xm "love song" station playing bland love songs while nascar was on tv. No one wants to hear Barry manilow while eating...at least I don't. Overall enjoyed the experience and definitely plan on coming back.

Very authentic Thai food, love the Thai ice tea. Lunch menu lasts until 3pm even in weekend. One of the best in this area

Excellent food and service. The staff are the most courteous I have ever encountered and the food is above par for such establishments. The dining room is okay and average for strip mall location.

Best Pad Thai I've ever had! Everything is fresh and flavorful! The soup or salad with the lunch specials are great. We love Nori and highly recommend it.

It is cheap so don't expect that much. I don't mean it sucks. What I mean is younger what you pay for.

Your are my new best restaurant! Your food is delicious and atmosphere is one that relaxes me beyond belief! Thanks for taking such good care of us!

I love eating here! Everything tastes exceptional and it is always a meal i look forward to! The employees are really sweet and its a clean nice little gem!

Shrimp in the super crunch roll was a little overlooked or stale. Pad see U was super salty.
