There were flies in the very small dirty place and scraps of paper at the register saying no means no, no sharing and you will be charged extra. Real turn off to new customers. Employees were greasy and unkept. Ordered the muffaletta to go. It was so greasy it had soaked thro the brown wrapping soaked all the napkins and had a puddle of greaze in the bottom of the bag.

Wonderful food tucked away in Bessemer. I have driven by this restaurant for years and we finally decided to eat there on date night. I had heard good things about it by word of mouth. Quaint and adorable decor inside along the lines of New Orleans. Could probably use a little repair but its an older establishment and was clean. The food ia AMAZINGLY good. We ordered a sicilian pizza to go and muffaletta sandwiches for there. Can't describe how much i enjoyed the food. Owner waited on us and was friendly and engaging. I understand he inherited the restaurant from his uncle, who opened it many years ago. His uncle would be proud. We will definately visit again.

Horrible place! I went looong ago and had the same experience and went back thinking (maybe forgetting) how awful their service and manners were.. smh. I should have known when my friend found hair it was a bad idea.

I grew up in Bessemer and have always loved this place! Buffet prices skyrocketed. Last time we were there we ordered sweet tea and it was unsweet. The man running the register said he would have someone sweeten the tea since it wasn't his job. Well the guy never did so finally halfway through the meal, I asked if we could get something else. No apology from him. I was shocked at our ticket price! My little 6 year old boy was charged as an adult. We paid for both sets of drinks since we were given the unsweet tea. The worst part? We didn't leave the house again for 3 days. We all had food poisoning.

I like this little hole in the wall pizza place in Bessemer. They are closed Mondays, which is when I am in the area, but I try and make it if I am in the area and they are open. I have never dined in or tried their buffet. I normally call ahead and get their muffaletta. The large one lasts me 2 days, and satisfies my muffaletta craving for a few months. This is a great sandwich. It could be a little less greasy, but that would require extra effort on the ingredients. I enjoy the Muffaletta, but I don't stop by often because it is really unhealthy.

This place is a winner. Back in my tree-smoking teenage years I would have listed this place as "go-to." For residents of Bessemer, AL it's probably a gem. I was dragged here kicking and screaming by some friends who insisted that I try the namesake Muffaletta sandwich. It was good. Really good. The flavors were all there and came together well. The portion is generous given the price. Keep in mind I'm only speaking for the actual Muffaletta sandwich here. I can't vouch for the pastas or the buffet.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Working in this area leaves me without much as far as variety goes but Muffaletta's is always excellent! Great calzones & muffalettas! T is right be careful when pulling in!

I have passed by this small Italian restaurant nestled between a Sherwin Williams and a KFC millions of times in my life and had never been there before. Now, having visited here for the first time over the weekend, I feel like a schmuck for not going there sooner!! Their restaurant may be small, but it's packed with lots of food with big flavor! I had a meatball calzone and it was quite delicious. They also have a lunch buffet with plenty to choose from. Muffaletta's is a gem of a restaurant that should not be passed up while in the Bessemer area! (Note of advice, be careful while pulling in to the parking lot. There's a dip that could scratch up low cars.)

Muffaletta's is one of this family's favorite places to go. We had lived in Bessemer for many years before we discovered it. Always thinking it was a little hole in the wall joint. It may look that way, but boy does the food ever make up for it. The Buffett is awesome and very reasonablely priced. Both of my boys have sinced moved out of town; one to Chicago, and one to Ft Myers. But you can bet a visit to Muffaletta's is always on the schedule when they come home! Since we have recently lost Sneaky Pete's and the Stadium Grill due to fire, we better really guard this hallmark!

Great buffet. Well maintained. Very tiny dinning area but has a patio.

Was driving through on a long road trip. The sight of the place - very small and no windows like a bar - made me reconsider. But since all the other options were not close, I decided to chance it. We ordered the chicken and parmesan calzones. It was taking so long I thought they had forgotten us. But after 20-25 minutes they brought it out. Freshly made from scratch and it was terrific. Worth the wait.

Let me start by saying I don't even think that they even deserve one star. We went here for lunch this past Saturday and the food was absolutely disgusting. All the sauces were crusty from sitting out for a too long, the pizza was hard as a rock with hardly any toppings ( there was only one kind out and I think it was meat lovers, but I only saw a little bit of meat sprinkled on it) The Alfredo sauce was 80% butter and the spaghetti was hard as a rock. I even watched the cashier reach a fork into the sauces to pull chunks of who knows what out of the sauces. I didn't even try the lasagna because it looked like it was as hard as a brick. The worst part was that I wasted $13 dollars on this joke of a meal. We went here about a year ago and it was amazing so thats why I thought it was worth it to spend the money, but I was definitely wrong about that. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A MEAL THAT WILL LEAVE YOU WITH A STOMACH ACHE AND A LOT OF REGRET.
