To me service is everything. The concept this location has is phenomenal. Everyone helps everyone.. This leads to happier customers and is an efficient way to get your customers in and out, while creating more revenue for the store. Very smart! Everything we have tried has been awesome, from the baby back ribs, to the pulled pork and even the brisket. The manager there knows how to run a restaurant, from the moment you walk in, you are greeted quickly, seated promptly (if no wait) , the servers greet your table immediately... No waiting 5 to 10 minutes like at other places, or even over 20 at some places !! I know there are other Jim and Nicks in the South, I've not been to any of those, but I do know the one in Auburn AL is fantastic. We have had great experiences with each visit... I love the consistency of the service (no matter who the server is) and with the food, which is delivered out very quickly and hot! . Face it, when you go out to eat you want to be treated nice and get the attention you need, with a nice environment. If I went to a place that was a 5 star restaurant with wonderful food, but with horrible service and a miserable looking staff.. I would not ever go back. Jim and Nicks is a very welcoming, dress any way you'd like, friendly, great Bbq joint to go to!!

I'm a Jim and Nick's fan and have eaten in almost a dozen of them nationwide. I was surprised to see this location open up simply due to the massive number of restaurants on this strip (for being a small town). Rest assured, this location serves the same consistent BBQ, brings a friendly, clean atmosphere and great service, as does the rest of the chain. We dropped by after an Auburn baseball game and the place was three-quarters empty, even at 9pm. Unfortunately, there were a few misses on our trip. The Homemade Bar-B-Que Chips with blue cheese dressing were barely seasoned and slightly greasy, they forgot my salad and both of the brisket dinners were ordered had more fat that meat. (We order this often and have never seen the fat as least not partially trimmed off before it's served.) My friends son struggled to eat the brisket because it was surrounded by fat. Other than that, we enjoyed every bite. Jim N Nicks is one of the few chains that normally always delivers great BBQ at an affordable price. In fact, my open-face turkey sandwich (it's on the lunch menu, but you can order it for dinner) tasted amazing. On the other hand, we were surprised to see such different gravy here than other locations. We had eaten in Tuscaloosa here two nights prior and the gravy was much better (and completely different). This batch tasted like it was from a can and came in the form of a light brown gravy, rather than the dark brown we enjoyed at other locations. When coming to Jim N Nicks it can be a chore to decide what to order. The chain offers a large assortment of items. Your best bet is to opt for a two or three meat combo where you can try a few items (and a few trimmings). And, keep in mind, there isn't any superior BBQ in town. Moe's is ok, but Jim and Nick's stands taller. Why else would the Club Level at Auburn Arena cater it?

Great BBQ and bar, with an emphasis on whiskeys. Thumbs up! Ribs were smoked just right and the brisket melts in your mouth. You might not even pay attention to the little corn muffins they serve but they're a delicious sweet/cheesy combo. Another great BBQ spot in Auburn.

Good food but the service is pretty pathetic. I have been a couple of times and the service just isn't up to par. They never want to bring you biscuits and they take forever. great food but I have had terrible experiences with the service. The last time I went here, our waiter never came and we just walked out and went somewhere else after sitting for 20 minutes. It would take a lot for me to go here again.

Always stop here when I'm in town. The food is delicious. I love those little muffins.

Friendly, attentive staff provided great service. They seemed genuinely invested in us having a positive experience. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They were huge oinions in a crunchy coating. The mac and cheese is the best I have had in a restaurant. It was creamy and flavorful. Brisket was very tender and the corn muffins were sweet and cheesy. They offer bbq sauces, rubs, and muffin mixes for purchase. I bought two mixes one to give as a gift. They have two bbq sauces on the table. I did not try the hotter offering but the other had a slight kick. To go drink cups were provided which offered a nice perk. Ample parking.

If you come for the ribs you will not be disappointed. Half rack more than enough for two. I had brisket and it was great. Could use a different green trimming option than collards. Overall I need a wheelbarrow to take the leftovers home. Great food, great servers. Plan on going into a food coma afterwards. It's all good.

First time here and we enjoyed the food and surroundings. Mac and cheese and cheese biscuits were great. Beef brisket, southern burger, pork plate were excellent. Try the "Dark and Stormy" drink special. Would have given 5 stars but the food was a little slow coming out.

Love this restaurant. My husband and I had dinner there last saturday and it was to die for. They brought me out a potato that was the size of the shoe it was filled with cheese, butter, sour cream and it tasted so good! My husband had the bbq chicken, potato salad, and baked beans he loved it. The yeast rolls are heaven. If you are ever in Auburn AL stop on by this awesome restaurant.

Overall great BBQ. I had the double decker sandwich which has brisket and pulled pork on a Big Mac designed bun... SO GOOD!! My mom got the grilled chicken and it was well seasoned and really tender. Mashed potatoes were excellent, the slaw was okay. Cool atmosphere, the service was very friendly, however, it was obvious they were short staffed. They seemed stretched to say the least. I'll definitely be back for more brisket!

For a city loaded with barbeque, I'm not sure that I would return here. The pulled pork was pretty dry and far more expensive than Prices, Mike and Eds, or Byron's, and the sauces didn't do much for me (both were very tangy with no sweet option). The service was excellent. Classic Southern friendliness and pretty fast service. The best part of the meal was the cheese muffin/rolls that come for free with each meal. The cheese caramelized into the bread and it became a sweet, slightly crunchy exterior mixed with a perfectly fluffy interior. Man those things were good. Imagine Red Lobster cheddar biscuits being three times better and you come close to tasting these. So good!

JIm and Nick's BBQ is a chain serving food that stands up to local hole-in-the-wall joints. It will not be the best you ever had stuff but is very tasty.

Totally clueless. Server was clueless. Cook was clueless. Manager was clueless. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and chips. It came out with no pickles, mustard, or mayo like the menu described and the chips were OLD. I told the server and he was very nice about replacing it. (He actually knew that the chips were likely stale because he finished my sentence). But the sandwich came back still missing pickles and the chips didn't come out until we had already finished. They were good so make sure they are fresh. The real kicker is that the clueless manager came by our table after I had sent the food back. He had no clue despite me being without food in front of me. He asked if everything was okay and walked away before we could give a real response. The server should have been trained to notify the manager when a meal was sent back. Slow service, poor management, clueless cook, and overpriced average food. Won't return.

We stopped at Jim and Nick's on our way back home from a trip to Florida. We had never eaten here before but BBQ sounds good. Our oldest son has Celiacs disease and the waitstaff and kitchen staff was very accommodating when it came to finding something on the menu he could eat. The menu has a vast selection of kids meals from BBQ pork sliders to Chicken drummies to Mac and Cheese. The kids portions are generous with one side. This was plenty for two meals for our kiddos. Both my husband and I were pleased with our meals and enjoyed them, though next time I will skip the peach mint ice tea martini. This missed the mark and wasn't as refreshing as I thought it would be. The service was decent and our servers was in tune to helping make the kiddos happy and if we lived in the area, we would definitely come back.
(4)Ross F.
The food was awesome and the service excellent. The Manager went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience.
(5)Corey D.
I absolutely love their food. Always busy, which shows that they have good food, and good service. I love coming into here.
(5)Jeff P.
I really wanted to like this place based on the excellent service. Overall the food tasted good but I had to send my combo platter back to the kitchen because some of the meat was cold. My conclusion was that they plated my meal on a very cold plate as it was the bottom layer of meat that was cold. The sweetheart of a waitress apologized saying it had been very cold in the kitchen today. I'd say the management is not ready for prime time. Didn't see a manager after I reported the problem. Pulled pork was past it's prime at 6:30 PM, very dry maybe leftover from lunch?
(2)Fajitas R.
We came here because my son wanted to eat Bar b q, our server Lauren was great very attentive and happy to be at work, our food took longer to come out than usual, I have to said that it was worth the wait, my pork plate had great flavor and the Mac cheese was really good, we order a sliced of pecan pie and again it took for ever to come out, the manager was next to us and never came to out table to ask of everything was ok or even to apologized about the de late in our order these is why I'm giving it a 3 stars, defenetly there is room for Managment improvement.

I've been here 3 times now since I moved to the area. Each time trying something different; my two favorites are the Carolina style pork and the hot links. Both have a little kick and a nice (but not overpowering) smokey flavor. The fried green tomatoes are great and so are the collards! Beer is always cold and service has always been great. Will definitely be back!
(5)Clint C.
Great brisket! If you like BBQ, you need to try this restaurant. Fresh squeezed lemonade!

It actually pains me to say that this place really is... just ok. It pains me because if I were back in my hometown of Birmingham and you asked me what my favorite BBQ place was, without hesitation, I'd say Jim N' Nick's. Now, my answer would be that it kind of depends. See, I'd rather have the sides from here, I'd rather have ribs from "a place just across the train tracks" and I'd rather have pork from "a place just past the post office." Why? Well... there are numerous answers to that. First and foremost, it has always bothered me in general that Jim N' Nick's doesn't offer a sliced pork option. And no, I'm not taking off a star for that as that's really not their call, but I felt it was worth mentioning (the hints!). Secondly, I can't get consistent service from this particular location. I've been to this location 7 or 8 times, and my order was screwed up 4 times. Sometimes I get the wrong item, sometimes I get the wrong sauce, and sometimes I'm just flat out missing something. On the other hand, the two other BBQ locations that I was prepared to be disloyal to once I found out Jim N' Nick's was coming have about a 5% chance of screwing up some part of my order, and one of those locations NEVER has. Thirdly, for one reason or another, the portions at this location seem to be a little different from my usual location. Which I don't really care about in the sense of NEED MOAR FOOD!!!, the bigger issue is that the prices don't compensate for this lacking area. Which brings me to my last point. The prices are borderline absurd, again, only due to the portions. Portions either need to go up, or prices need to come down. Seriously. As a few bonus complaints, they tend to run out of things a little early (more like far too early to be out of them). I don't remember what it was, but I went in about 2.5 hours before closing on a non-game weekend and they were out of something. So I wanted something else and they were out of that too. That's one of two times they were out of something more than an hour before closing. For a secondary bonus complaint, they seem to "miss" people coming through the door. I came in on one occasion with literally nothing but a simple question to ask before ordering and, for 10 minutes, I stood there. Yeah, by minute 5 I should have said something, but I honestly wanted to just see how long it'd take for them to see me there. Well, nobody wanted to talk to me that day so I left. This sound like a two star review to you? Well, it might be. I might be able to bring myself to give this location a 2.5, but I don't have that option, and I just couldn't bare to give it two stars. As for the management issues frequently mentioned, I've had varying experiences with that as well. I spoke to one manager about an issue and he just stormed off, I've had one manager correct the issue, and I've had a manager that corrected the issue and threw in some extras. I'm sure which manager I had the best experience with is obvious (seriously, extra cheese biscuits fix alot of things, but this involved extra meat too!) I actually, once upon a time, fired off an e-mail to whomever receives e-mails for Jim N' Nick's in an effort to get them to bring a location to Auburn. Now, about 3 years after that e-mail, I'm a little disappointed. Frankly, I actually worry about the place. I don't want them to go belly up, but there's alot wrong with this place in my opinion. To end things on a positive note though, the bartenders and the servers? Fine specimens of southern hospitality. Love talking to them. Except the one girl who was by the door that decided she didn't want to talk to me within the 10 minute window that one time. That made me a bit of a sad panda.

Food was okay. - just okay. Ribs and pulled pork are good - brisket is so-so. Problem is service, which is terrible. Dozens of people wait upwards of an hour for a table when there are at least 8 open tables at any time, which means that they're either chronically understaffed (this happens every time) or just don't know what they're doing. Waitstaff can't get food to the table in a timely manner, which could be a kitchen issue. They brag about the cheese rolls (which are good) but you can't get them without asking twice and waiting forever because the kitchen doesn't keep up. Even great food wouldn't be enough to justify a recommendation until the service issues get straightened out.

A wonderful dining experience!! We went on a Saturday nite, were seated immediately, had outstanding service, and great food!!! Server very knowledgeable abt all menu items explaining "made from scratch" details. Manager very knowledgeable and friendly. A lively crowd with TVs but did not distract from the evening. Wish they had one where we live-- we were just in Auburn for one night while driving to New Orleans.

Wonderful catering for my daughter's wedding on April 25! All the guests thought the food was great!

We came on a random Friday night and it wasn't overly crowded so we were seated quickly and our service was fine. We ordered brisket nachos and brisket sandwich and two kids meals. The brisket tasted fine, not the best I have had but considering I can't get it very easily in Alabama I am happy to have it. The sauce is actually fairly spicy as a basic sauce, I wouldn't have ordered it for my kids. Overall it is fine, it wasn't spectacular but it wasn't bad, I would go back.

Good food. Very small portions. Very big prices. Good atmosphere. Service was just ok.

Jim and Nick's in Auburn had some of the best BBQ I have ever eaten. For a chain type restaurant, they do a really good job. Service was excellent. The biscuits are heavenly. Pulled Pork was my favorite. We live out of state and love BBQ. We will visit again next time we are in Auburn.
(5)Ashley M.
My friend came here before and said it was amazing! Unfortunately, I was not impressed. The service was very slow (I'm talking 15 min to get a bottle of beer slow) and it was not that busy. The food was ok. They brought our nachos with peppers even though we asked for no peppers, but they tasted decent. We ordered the three meat sampler to share. the turkey was a bit dry and the brisket was very fatty, but the chicken was superb! The green beans were also really good, but the Mac n cheese was bland. We sat outside, which is a nice option! Overall, it was ok and I might give it another shot since a friend previously had a much better experience.

Stopped here for lunch after visiting Auburn Univ. Seated quickly, our server Heather was lovely and efficient. Now on to the food. I smoke bbq meat at home. So i am critical of big commercial places like this. The food is on par with most places this size. I had the pulled pork, my son had the brisket. Not bad, but not exceptional. My pork was tender, a little more chopped than i prefer, with a decent amount of mild smoke. They use hickory as most places do. I did ask to see their pit before leaving and they were kind enough to allow me in their kitchen. So a thumbs up for that. The cole slaw is great but they give you very little with a lunch sandwich. The cheesy cornbread starter is ok, but nothing to write home about. Their bbq sauces on table come two ways, regular and spicy. They are carolina vinegar based style so be aware. All in all a good lunch time experience, and would return to try ribs if afforded the opportunity. I prefer side of the road, small pit bbq places that use different woods and combos.

The food was average, service was average, server was very nice but overwhelmed. Prices are a bit high for this average BBQ place.
(3)Charlie V.
I did not have a pleasant first time experience with this establishment. For starters, we were passed up for a table by people who came after us who were complaining. If all I had to do was complain to get seated faster... Wow. When they brought our saucers for the complimentary cheese bread, they were dirty. And I'm not talking about just a tiny bit of crust on there, I'm talking wet plates with lettuce between 3 of the plates. Literally unacceptable. The food was tasty but was not worth the price. If it wasn't for the waiter's excellent service, our night would have been utterly horrible. I am normally understanding for restaurants having "off" nights, but this was beyond forgiveness. I will not be returning to this restaurant, nor will I suggest it for any friends.

I really liked this place to dine in .. And today is my 5th time drive thru ordered cz I didn't have time to dine in! And this is 5th time they messed up ! Every time I ordered drive thru way not even once they did it right ! I asked for extra pickle and they only put 2 extra! And I asked sandwich bread when it comes with brisket and they put square white bread! I mean seriously they charge $$$ and mess it up every time ! Smh

This place is terrible. The food is average and is usually cold. Way overpriced and loaded with a weeks worth of sodium. If you go through the drive through be prepared to be ignored and wait 1-2 hours for your food. Save yourself time and money and do mike and eds or bbq house. Heck even moes downtown is better.
(1)Allison C.
Jim and Nick's was great -- the servers were all very friendly, the food came out quickly, and our meals were great. We ordered the slow smoked pork and beef brisket with sides and really liked both. The mashed potatoes were especially good. The servers were also very nice and accommodating, even though we arrived 20 minutes before closing.
(5)Joseph J.
The food was cold by the time it was brought out...waited 45 minutes but once seated noticed plenty of empty tables ..cheese muffins were good but had to ask for them
(2)Zelda C.
Had baby back ribs collard greens and slaw wife had standard ribs and same sides ate at the bar food was quick great sides and food the habanero hot sauce was great
(5)David M.
Good Grief!! Why did I come here yet again...? Normally I have to wait at least an hour to get a table, but today I walked right in and sat down. Well, NOT SO FAST... I then had to wait 30 minutes just to get our drinks. We order the DAVE burger thinking how could they mess a burger up. Unfortunately all three burgers were just pitiful. My burger was overcooked, my daughters burger was raw and my wife's burger was lacking any of the normal fixings. Then came the bill (My biggest compliant!!) - $50.00 for three burgers a small kids mac and cheese and some drinks.. This place just isn't worth it... NEVER AGAIN!
