My favorite place in Auburn for fried seafood up to this point. For $5.99, I got the fried catfish sandwich with crinkle fries. It deliciously fried and tasty. Tartar sauce send this fried fillet to heaven. The waiter was really friendly and chill. The restaurant was stuffy and empty, but strangely nostalgic. They don't have a good beer selection. It seems like guys come here just to play pool and relax. If it gets too stuffy, they have an outdoor patio to treat to.

Fried fish and shrimp were not bad, certainly nothing spectacular. Service was really friendly, but if it got really crowded at lunch or dinner I could see them being easily overwhelmed. Down-home, southern fried fish place. They serve hush puppies, french fries, and cole slaw with their "plates" which range from $9-12 for tilapia, whitefish, catfish, shrimp, or whiting. The po-boys are $9 as well, and they have catfish and whitefish "sandwiches" at $5 or $6 with fries. Much of the food seems like it was from a Sysco or other wholesale food provider and then quickly fried. The service's friendliness and enjoyable demeanor make this 3* instead of 2*.

What Fishizzles lacks in the way of looks (it is first and foremost a dive bar, which I can appreciate), it makes up for in it's friendly, warm atmosphere. Our server was so sweet, kind, and genuine, and even inquired about how we came to be new residents of Auburn, and then offered more places to check out. The food is tasty and wholesome, nothing mind blowing or reinventing the wheel, but good price, portions, and hearty. Would certainly come back here again.

Fun dive bar atmosphere, fast friendly service, and a great fried catfish sandwich. There was live music on a Friday night and a different crowd than the typical college student scene. I plan to come back for sure.

The service was awesome; our waitress was really nice and extremely attentive. We were one of only a few customers, but our food came out even faster than expected. My boyfriend got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The shrimp was good, but the shrimp to bread ratio was kind of disappointing. He didn't think it was worth $9. However, I got a tilapia sandwich with fries, and it was only $4.99. It was really good and definitely a lot of food for the price. It came on regular ole sandwich bread so maybe that was why it was cheaper? I was not disappointed at all, though. The atmosphere was very relaxed. To us, it seemed more bar-like than a family restaurant. They do have a full bar, but they only had about 4 beers on draft. We'll definitely be back.
