OK, I admit my BBQ expectations have been upgraded a bit since I became a certified BBQ judge. But, I'm a pretty liberal judge that tries to give the benefit of the doubt. But, I was very disappointed in the Rib Platter I got today at Country's. Spare ribs that were all but inedible--the membrane had not been removed (think tough to bite or chew through), the fat had not been trimmed and the meat that was there was tough. There were four ribs on the platter--I managed to strip a few bites off of two with my fork and then gave up. Of the two sides, the bbq onions were the best as the butterbeans had very little seasoning or flavor. The tea was good and plentiful in the quart Mason jar. My husband had the Pulled Pork Platter and was not happy with his selection either. They had included some of the outside meat (char) which had flavored the whole platter with an unappetizing charcoal flavor. Plus, he found a big chunk of fat in the meat as well. This place has been a part of the restaurant scene for over 20 years and it appears they may be coasting on their reputation. Or, to be more generous, perhaps the kitchen was having an off day. It's a shame, but I won't be going back to find out as there are several other BBQ joints in town with MUCH better barbeque.

The food is pretty good. The patrons and some of the wait staff don't take kindly to my type of folk and do a pretty bad job hiding it.

I have been forced to eat at Countrys in Auburn and Montgomery all my life and I am amazed at how consistently bad the food has been and yet people still frequent this place! The food is at least one or a combination of: cold, tough, sickeningly fatty or flavorless. I always try to be open minded and give places another chance but I have never enjoyed a meal here. At least they are consistent...I'll give them that.

My best friend worked here our senior year of college and I would go visit her ALL the time in order to get free food. They have the best BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread and coleslaw...oh, it makes my mouth water. It's definitely a down-home style place, so don't expect anything fancy. I mean the place calls itself "Country's"...it should be blatantly obvious!

Excellent! It is something like would be on food tv or travel for off the beaten path restaurants. The food is great, the value is better, I got the all you can eat spare ribs, and they were huge!!!! The mashed potatoes were HOMEMADE! They even had lumps, and if you like sweet tea, this is the place to be! The service was great as well, what a great meal!

Everything was good, especially the chopped pork. The server was really nice - sounded like Britney Spears. I did get a stomach ache after the meal, but it might have been from Starbucks beforehand.

I've had better, and I've had worse barbecue. The service is great, but the sliced pork is sometimes a little dry.

The cue stew can never been done wrong and this place is no different. I can have cue stew all day long and be happy. However, the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich was a letdown. It wasn't a sandwich. Someone forgot a portion of it somewhere. The beef and bread were average. The menu listed that this entree came with fries. For some reason, our waitress seemed really confused when we asked her where are fries were. When she brought out the fries, they rivaled tater tots. The price really wasn't worth what we paid for.

This is by no means the best bbq around, but I still love this place. I eat here at least once a week with my husband. We always order the corn nuggets (which are just as good as Niffer's). I tend to drink a good bit, so I love that you get huge mason jars full of tea. I always order either the chef salad (w/ ranch) or the pork platter. I LOVE their bbq onions. They are so good mixed in with the chipped pork. As far as service goes, the girls are always nice! Don't come in expecting anything fancy. It's a casual place with a small-town feel, but I still love it.

I didn't actually get a change to eat at this place. The restaurant was half empty and we asked if we could sit in a booth. The girl who helped us said No we couldnt ....enough booths available though. Services sucks!

Easily the worst barbecue in Auburn/Opelika. With a plethora of great options to choose from, I do fear an individual would try this on their stop during Gameday and come away with a negative impression of Auburn's barbecue scene. The pork meat is tough, flavorless, and fatty. The sauces lack any real differentiating factor-- the mustard has no spice or sweetness, the medium has no flavor, and the hot lacks heat. The service took an incredibly long time, and the brisket was dry and tough... I hate to be so negative about the place, but there truly was no saving grace... I guess the servers were friendly, but that does not make up for the poor product they cook. If you are visiting Auburn, I highly, highly suggest you try somewhere else for your 'cue fix.

Didn't expect much and was not disappointed. Better BBQ elsewhere for me but I am not a corporate chain eater at all. Nothing bad but everything as expected, and I like surprises.

Country's is starting to grow on me. I didn't like it growing up b/c I was forced to eat here everytime we were visiting Auburn. The fried chicken tenders are very good, especially dipped in ranch. My coworker's pork plate looked pretty good, too.

So Country's has been around Auburn forever, and I always took BBQ for granted having grown up here. I just went to the Opelika Rd. spot with my sister and it was pretty good. The service was super friendly and makes for a nice environment for a relaxed meal. Love the mason jar sweet tea and they are nice enough to offer you a to-go sweet tea which is a nice bonus. BBQ itself isn't outstanding but solid and reasonably priced.

Like that place! The beef ribs are awesome! It is a kind of traditional South American restaurant. The drinks are huge so do the foods. Come here when you are hungry.

Bake beans and Coleslaw was nasty no free refills on drinks. Waitress only check on us once service wasn't good compared to the price of the food
