First let me say you have to say the name right or 1,000 college students will look at the crazy!!!its not cheeseburger it's Chee-burger. We took the pounder challenge which requires us to eat a huge burger in one sitting with hopes of getting out photo on the wall. Good selection of burgers college town atmosphere.

This is as good a hamburger place as I've ever been. We went there on a home game night and even though it was crowded the service was perfect and the burgers were too. Any topping imaginable is available. A really fun place for families or date night.

Was great food and fantastic service. I accidentally dropped my hardly-eaten burger (filled up on the loaded fries) when trying to put it in the to-go box. Manager saw and compensated me with a small shake. Definitely wished I hadn't dropped the burger but I really appreciated the sentiment. Staff was beyond attentive and we will be back soon!

A bajillion shakes and any combo you can make. I have to go here for a shake every time I'm in Auburn. Always try a different one. Same with the burgers. I like that you can order any topping in any combination. It makes the experience better for me. You can get seasonings on the fries and dipping sauces. Last time I was there they had a horseradish one that was really good on the fries and onion rings. Any daring (or extremely hungry) person can get a one-pound hamburger and get their picture on the wall if you finish it. But you have to pose with a stuffed hamburger. It's hilarious.

Good burger and fries! So huge, I had to slice it! I docked one star for the price. It was almost $20 for a platter (burger, fries and side salad) and a drink.

Ah....Cheeburger Cheeburger. An Auburn staple. To be honest, I have only been to Cheebuger Cheeburger once. It was pretty crowded when we came, but we didn't have any trouble getting a table. It is basically a standard "build your own" burger joint with greasy fries and over battered onion rings. I got the medium sized burger, and it was plenty of food. Do not get the large patty. You will feel sick. My burger was good, though a little pricy. I think 5 Guys has a better burger, and it is a little bit cheaper, so I am giving this place 3 stars. My friends all ordered the large patty. It was way to big. We literally had to call a friend to pick us up, because they were too full to walk home. I live like 200 yards from this place, and they couldn't walk home. These are big guys. Don't get the large burger. I might come back here, but won't make a real effort to.
(3)
Austin B.
The only reason they even got 3 stars was because of the fries. The burger I had was absolutely terrible, I didn't even finish half of it and I was extremely hungry after a football game. If you are looking for a good milk shake or some delicious fries this is a good place to go. If you are looking for a burger go to Five Guys and to be honest their fries are really good as well.

My favorite place to eat burgers. Lots of choices for burger toppings. Although it takes some time for your order to come, the food is worth the wait. Service is great.

Neal C.
The burger itself was just a typical, overcooked patty that lacked any flavor. The only flavor I got was from the toppings and ketchup... I was really disappointed. On the positive side, you can order all of the toppings you want to make up for the tasteless burgers. The prices are pretty normal ($5.50 for a classic, $6.90 for a 7 oz. $11 for a pound). The decor and theme seemed somewhat contrived to me. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient-- I just didn't care much for the food. Probably a better place for kids or to get a milkshake as well.

The onion rings here are really good. I love when the breading is barely a thin layer that it actually a fried onion ring and not two layers of separation. I like how crispy and toasty the fries were. The half order is really all you need because they're really generous on their portions. The burgers are customizable in which you can pick your condiments and meat from top to bottom. The downside is that the toppings aren't cooked with the patty so I had a cold pineapple ring and cold onions on a hot burger patty. Maybe I just like consistency that if I'm going to have a hot burger, everything needs to be hot. The place is reminiscent of a throwback diner. Take a seat, and they'll come take your order.

By far the best burger place in Auburn! They use real hamburger, not the prefab frozen patties like most places. The food is consistently good and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.

I love a good burger and I'm not afraid to eat an unhealthy meal on occasion, but I can't handle Cheeburger. WAY too greasy for my taste. I've only been once so I'm open to trying it again. Apparently the milkshakes are where it's at. Maybe next time...

Certainly not the best burgers in town by a long shot; they're grilled, but they certainly don't taste that way. However, there's a hefty amount of topping to choose from, which is a good thing, I guess, if you're one of the crazy people with fetishes for guacamole on your burger. The onion rings were okay, the fries were below average. Not much more to say... The interior had that 1950s diner decor. That might be significant enough to mention.

Disclaimer: I'm from California and want to live past 50. I thought the hamburger meat here was tasty/well prepared, so no disrespect to the burger. I also loved the extensive list of 'build your own burger' toppings. However... It's now four hours after dinner, and my mouth feels like a grease trap. The onion rings and fries are so oily that the paper they sat on was literally translucent in seconds. Word to the wise: build a burger and a shake- skips the sides!

Definitely glad that Auburn has one of these - I normally went to the locations in Bel Air and Annapolis, MD. Great food for great value. The milkshakes are awesome, and the fries are very good. The burger names are also spot on, because the last time I went I had to be delirious to think I'd finish that whole burger!! Definitely try it out. Great location too - right in the middle of the campus area.

Their veggie burger, surprisingly, was actually one of the best I've ever had. This may have had something to do with the fact that I ordered mine with onion rings and ranch dressing on it, but regardless, it's awesome that you have options like that. The number of choices for milkshakes is crazy, too - I recommend peanut butter+birthday cake+Reese's Pieces. It was wonderful. Banana+blackberry cobbler was really good as well. The service was good and pricing was totally reasonable. For two people, the bill was under $30 (including tip), and with the portions what they are, that's a pretty awesome deal IMO.

This is one of my favorite spots to have a meal at in Auburn. I have always loved the burgers at Cheeburger Cheeburger. This place is all about the burger, don't expect much out of the fries... they're just okay. But the shakes are out of this world, you really have to try a shake! See if you can eat "The Famous Pounder"... they'll take your picture and put it on the wall... mine is there, somewhere! Parking can be a bear on Football Saturdays, but you can easily walk from here to the stadium for the game.

Love this place! I, of course, go for the 1lb burger smothered in cheese with grilled onions and mushrooms. Oh, and if you eat the 1 pounder you get your picture on the wall. So I'm guessing I have 10 of me on the wall from undergrad alone. The fries are also freshly cut so always fresh and delicious and so are the onion rings! Who else still cuts up onions and potatoes? The overall quality of the burger and fries is impeccable and quite literally is the best your gonna find. Better than any place else in Atl, Al or SC. You gotta be a bad mf to call yourself "Cheeburger Cheeburger"..

I'm going to preface my review by saying (as I often do) that I am a vegetarian. So going to a store that specializes in cheeseburgers probably seems like a dumb idea from the get-go. This restaurant has been in Auburn for a long time, and even though it is a chain, it feels like a local place. They have great fundraisers for community organizations (the reason I was there) and seem to want to give back to the community. On to the food. The other reviewers don't like. It *is* overpriced for its quality. They were out of veggie burgers when I was there, so I got the portabello mushroom sandwich on rye. All I can say about that is do not do not do not get. The mushroom was sooooo over-marinated that the vinegar all but burned my mouth. I wasn't into their fries either (and I do love some me some fries!). They were good at first but as they got cooler they went downhill. Overall, the food is not worth the money, but the place is a fun place to eat. The whole pounder challenge thing is pretty amusing too.

I used to LOVE this place for the food. However, after the last experience, I might think twice before EVER stepping foot in this place again. Their attitude about loud kids running around disrupting other guests is "f***" the other guests. The manager told the table with the kids that while we were still there. If you have obnoxious kids, bring them here. The place welcomes it.

It's so wrong, but oh-so-right. I've eaten here since it opened, and it has barely changed a bit. The food is so greasy that the floors are an OSHA hazard waiting to happen. (In fact, I'm sure there's a pending lawsuit.) But, sweet Mary and Joseph: There's nothing wrong with these burgers. *Years* ago, their blooming onion was fantastic, but I haven't had one since 1997, so I can't comment on them today. If you're in Tiger Town, be sure to save a spot for lunch. Their milkshakes are fantastic, too.

I wish I could give this place a 3.5 rating. It's a good place to go if you want an expensive burger that's nearly worth it. I'd say it's probably worth 8/9 of the pennies rather than ever penny. The milkshakes that they serve are excellent and they don't complain if you accidentally walk out with their serving cup. Or at least they didn't when I borrowed it for a very extended period of time. I don't disagree that they are potentially the best burgers in town, but that's not saying much since this town has somewhere around 8 McDonalds or something like that. And 4 Burger Kings and 3 Wendy's and 3 Arby's and etc. Auburn isn't really the most high class town in the world for restaurants. It's a college town with little other value than that. Go eat at Hamilton's if you want some of the best food in town.

A little greasy but a classic nonetheless. A very good burger; the meat tasted extremely fresh. The fries and onion rings were very good as well. I opted for all 5 sauces since I am new to the area. The 4 stars is because the burger was really really good. I had the mind to take a star off because of the price. A burger with bacon, half order of fries/onion rings with a special sauce and a pepsi=$16.50 Pretty ridic if you ask me. Thank God the food lived up to the price, but I still would have preferred to pay a bit less. The burger was cooked just as I had ordered and all of the toppings made it extra delish. I enjoyed the fries and onion rings, but for one person, it was just way too much food. Had I known that it would it be so much, I would have passed and just had the burger. Service was good, fast and friendly. Not sure I'd eat there again if in Auburn in the future. Unless my company is paying again. ;-)

I used to like this place a lot more until I ate the pounder. It was good for like 2 bites and then it just tasted like dry unseasoned ground beef. boo. Do your best to avoid going for the pounder no matter how tempting it is to conquer and have your photo made. I'm still a big fan of the cheese dip and milk shakes.
