Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

4.5 stars Tonight was my last night that I could actually go out and eat dinner (Working the night shift the rest of the week) in Andalusia and I decided to come here. I left very happy! I like the charm of the place. Its an old house that has been converted into a restaurant. I walked in and there were 2 other guys eating dinner. They soon left and it was just me, the bartender/server and the cook. I grabbed a seat and ordered a Coke. I then placed my order for the veal parmigana. While waiting for my food, they brought out some complimentary garlic bread and marinara sauce for dipping. It was piping hot, fresh and delicious! Soon after that, my main dish came out. Good Lord!!!! This plate was large and in charge. It had a huge piece of veal topped with cheese and it was laid on top of penne pasta. I was ready to dig in and here is how it tasted. Veal Parmigana- This was AWESOME! We are talking like "mom" good. It was a huge piece of thinly sliced veal that was breaded and fried to perfection. I kept taking bite after bite and kept smiling. It was really delicious and probably the best veal parmigana dish I have had from a restaurant (Moms is always #1 LOL). I scarfed that thing down and tried to eat the pasta too. The pasta was just plain jane....nothing special. The sauce was delicious though and that piece of veal hit the spot. I left very satisfied. Total damage was only $22.00 for the giant dish and a Coke. Service was very personable and friendly and I loved the comfy small vibe in the house/restaurant. This would be a great place for a date. I would come back often if I lived here just for that veal. It was awesome!

Don't eat there to often as they are a little pricey. Service and food is great! I usually like to get their steak an cheese sub which is excellent!! The place is very clean, one of the nicest places in this small community.

For a small town Andalusia, I'm glad to see a good old Italian restaurant. On top of it, it is not a chain restaurant. Quite opposite, the restaurant is in a house and there's the homey feel to it. The staff was really friendly (People in Alabama are all so nice!). The best part of the meal was quite honestly the bread with marinara sauce! Thinly cut and crunchy, it's just the best starter to your meal. I ordered the veal parm, and it was good. The portion is huge so I was able to pack half to go. The next day, I went back for lunch since I was eyeing the grilled shrimp salad. The grilled shrimp salad was even better! Although it is called salad, it doesn't feel all the healthy. The sauce is house and it's lemon-y and sweet. There were tons of shrimp in there!! I would recommend the grilled shrimp salad if you're looking for something different from pasta.

Love the food but the place seems a bit old or dated. Still, one of my go to places in andalusia. Love everything I have tried and good service.

If you are ever on your way to the beach, chances are you'll pass through Andalusia or as I like to call it Small Town USA. You definitely should consider stopping by this place, the food is great. The staff is friendly, and it's not your typical dining experience. It is in a renovated house, so it's interesting. And the food is amazing, you'll be glad you came here.

I have really enjoyed the few times I ate here. They have wonderful salads, great garlic bread and wonderful sauce. The location is hidden off the main road so I often do not think to go there when I am hungry but when I do it is always well worth it.

Great little place to eat. Quiet and awesome service make this a good place to be. And we havent even gotten to the food yet. Its all homemade and definitely a highlight in this small town. We dont stop by enough but when the wife and I want a great dining experience Ophelia`s is the closest thing to fine dining Andalusia has to offer. Been there several times and never had a bad experience. Food is always wonderful and the prices are reasonable. I wouldnt hesitate to take anyone no matter where they where from or their culinary taste. Yeah I know I elaborated a bit more then useful but the last reviewer that called Ophelia`s a fraud really p***ed me off!!

Great little place to eat. Had the stuffed pepper which was great. Husband had a ribeye which was just a little undercooked for him. It had great taste and very tender.

We've just finished some of the best Italian food anywhere in three counties--yes, it was that good --started with wonderful bread with marinara, followed with the best house salad (with sweet onion vinaigrette). My chicken Piccata was so good as was my husband's chicken cordon blue, that we're already planning to load up our Niceville friends for a road trip up to Ofelia's....it's that good, folks. Enjoy.

Great food and great service. Here for work and trusted yelp. Ms. Ofelia was in the restaurant and served me directly. The restaurant is a quaint cozy place and you can tell that they cooked your food personally. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through. Great surprise here considering you are in Andalusia, AL.

This little place is great! It has a homey feeling, service is good, very welcoming and kind! The food is great! Ofelia serves my all time favorite chicken parmigiana. Too bad I live all the way out in California. Ofelia is a close friend to my mother, so I will definitely tag along with my mother the next time she decides to go to Alabama.

I'm with Robb on this one. Never had a bad experience, and the food is always good. Don't know the problem of the original poster, but maybe he/she needed to elaborate.

Is a fraud. Only one type of pasta - fettucine. Different sauces but they all taste the same...
