Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Didn't enjoy it at all. I ordered the grilled pork and onions with rice, beans and guacamole salad. The avocado was brown and the pork was hard to chew. I did enjoy the rice and beans but it is difficult to ruin rice and beans. My boyfriend ordered two different entrees and he said they tasted the same. We spoke about how little we enjoyed the food for a week after our visit. The service was pleasant but never asked us if we enjoyed our food or drinks.

I had the chimichanga with beef and it was excellent. The wife had grilled chicken which was bland. The chips and salsa were really good but the cheese dip was amazing! We would go back and recommend! Best Mexican food in alabaster.

Habanero's is a favorite spot for a delicious & reasonably priced Mexican dinner. We usually take the family on a Friday evening. This is the place to go for Chicken Tortilla Soup. It's the best around! Habanero's can get pretty busy, so be prepared to wait a little while, especially if you show up later or on a Friday or Saturday evening!

Good rather busy but good selection on the menu and fairly good pricing

Not impressed. Food was over priced, there was more lettuce and beans on my plate than chimichanga. The chimi wasn't even fried and there was no cheese on it as advertised. The salsa tasted like it was ketchup with some green stuff tossed in. Our server dropped the plates in front of us and was hardly interested. We won't be back.

Tex-Mex style grub. Not a bad meal, and the service is pretty quick. Habaneros is a budget-friendly place, and you get your money's worth. The TV's on the various walls are a nice touch.

This is your standard Tex-Mex Restaurant. My wife and I shared the Fajitas and they were fine. Nothing amazing but not bad. The atmosphere of the place is festive due to the traditional Hispanic decorations used throughout. The wait staff is prompt and is very good about making sure your glass is never empty and your chips and salsa are always refilled. All in all a good experience but not amazing. Keep in mind this location does not serve alcohol on Sunday

Good food for generic mexican food. Service needs some work. Prices on the fair to steep side for quality of food.

The hard tacos were too soggy. The meat fell through the actual taco. The margaritas are too expensive for the amount given. They had only 3 flavors (strawberry, peach, pina colada). You cannot mix them either. The atmosphere is fun, loud, and family-friendly. They do a birthday song and dance for you if it's your birthday.

My favorite mexican place! I was back in town after being gone for 5 years and made sure to eat every meal here! The nachoes with grilled chicken are my favorite

Some habaneros are good, some are bad. The one in Hoover is way better than this; service is good and fajitas are okay. I wish they'd give more veggies with the fajitas and their salsa is like soup.

I will say that there is nothing here that you cannot get at the next Mexican restaurant, but it is consistent and the salsa is fresh. Give it a try and let us know your thoughts!
