Love this place! The Mongolian beef is so good, it's all I ever order. Been coming here for 12 years now and the consistency is great. Sweet Korean lady works the dining room by herself and although the atmosphere is lacking, the food is not!! Highly recommend!

Very small "hole in the wall" type place! We drive by all the time and finally decided to stop for dinner! The food is incredibly fresh completely authentic and truly a family friendly location. We were pleasantly surprised as this is NOT pre-made sauces or frozen veggies! Make sure you have time to relax as it is made fresh to order and takes a bit more time. But well worth the wait! Enjoy your time and the breath of freshness!!!

Food was good and kung pao chicken was spiced perfectly. Restaurant itself could use some jazzing up but we got our food to-go and will be back.

It was OK. Fine, not great. Friendly staff. Expensive. Breaded almond chicken was too salty & I like salty.

Egg drop soup and crab wontons were good but the house fried rice was terrible and sweet and sour chicken was dime size, and deep fried dark meat. Restaurant was clean. I will not go back.

I've been coming here since my family moved to the valley 9 years ago & it is delicious every time. I don't know what the other reviewer meant by lack of vegetables in the lo mein because that's the primary dish that I order & part of the reason why I love it is because it has so many fresh vegetables! They also have excellent customer service; the waitress is always very friendly-quick service too. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone that wants delicious Chinese food.

Had a wonderful dinner here tonight. Excited to find great Chinese food in the valley. My wife and I both thought it was some of the best Chinese we have had. Excellent service from the very sweet owner. We'll be back often!

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. It was cooked to order and very fresh. I read one bad review and it must have been an off day or perhaps the reviewers are perfectionists. In any case, I would urge you to give it a try.

Don't let the outside fool you. You will miss out on some great food. The portions are thankfully not overwhelming but enough to fill you up. The owners serve and cook. Everything is fresh! Prices are average. It's small but very clean. We were 3 adults and 6 kids. Best Chinese I had in a Long time. Can't understand the other review. It really was delicious.

This is a place in the valley to avoid. It's behind IHOP in the Creekside Plaza. If you've been wanting to try it, rest assured you should save your money. The waitress was really nice and the place was clean. The food however, sucked AND it was expensive. We ordered egg rolls that were $1.75 each and they were the thin ones similar to Thai rolls but the only thing inside was chopped cabbage. No onion, no carrot, no sprouts and certainly no protein of any kind in any shape or form. It was a deep fried cabbage roll. The honey sesame chicken I ordered came in tiny, little deep fried chunks the size of popcorn, covered in a brown, beef gravy (I am not kidding) and sprinkled with raw sesame seeds. The lo-mein we ordered had some shredded cabbage, carrots and about 1 ounce of shredded chicken. It was bland and tasteless and basically nothing more than a plate of noodles. I feel bad because I bet this place, which was totally empty on a Sunday, is really close to going out of business and probably just can't afford to stock up on any food. It was pathetic, really. I've had better Chinese food in Barrow where they never get fresh vegetables. Oh wait, the egg drop soup was okay. So we know they had eggs in the kitchen, at least.

At Happy Family, they go out of their way to match dietary/allergy restrictions (no soy or nuts); the portions are large and stock the fridge after dinner; and the cost is modest, about half of what you'd pay for an undercooked slab of beef and sneering service at the Cattle Company in Anchorage. We usually order "to go" because we like eating at home (and there really isn't a lot of extra room in the restaurant) and like something different every so often. Someone gave this place a negative review that has me scratching my head: I've always found good food and good service here.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
