Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Very good food and usually great service! It's a hole in the wall joint that knows how to cook Mexican food! Eat there every time we're in Soldotna, at least 6-8 times a year, sometimes more. It's that good!

Seriously the best Mexican good I have had in a long time. Be sure to try the fajitas! The seafood one is so fresh and delicious. Great portion size too. Enjoy!

I should have left when I read the menu and saw mexican food, italian food (pasta and pizza) and american food. I ordered halibut fajitas and they were very tasteless. The mexican rice was worse than rice-a-roni and my stomach was upset all afternoon after eating the food here. I'm not very familiar with the dining options in Soldotna, so I don't know if this is good for the area, but I'd recommend getting just about anything else...

Great chips and salsa. The rest of the food wasn't very good though.

Some of the best Mexican food I have had. The soldotna store is a bit smaller than the kenai store. Great food try the chipotle chicken!

I came here with a friend for a late lunch. Our waitress had about 3 tables, including ours. She asked what we wanted to drink, we told her water for now. We watched her sit up at the counter and do nothing while we were waiting on our waters. She checked on her two other tables...still no water. Went back up to the counter and did nothing...while we are still waiting on water. Finally another server asked us if we wanted anything to drink and instantly came back with water. Shortly after she finally got around to taking our order and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered sodas and she left. We waited another 5 minutes or so while watching her do just about everything else but get our sodas. Finally the other server came around and asked if we wanted anything else and also got our sodas just before our food came out. The waitress waited another 10 minutes to come check on us. The other waiter ended up bringing us our boxes and ran my credit card because our waitress was busy...sitting a booth nearby doing nothing. Food was great but our waitress was completely useless.

Diner be where, check your ticket closely when you eat at this place. They don't itemize your ticket and it looks like they just round it up to the nearest $5 bucks. This has happened the last two times we've been here. Today we questioned them and they got all offended, which typically means they got caught.

Food was average and expensive, $15 for three chicken enchiladas and no rice or beans. Had to ask server for extra chips and salsa, they did not charge us for the extra chips but you have to ask for them.

Honestly, I have eaten Mexican food all over the country, and I think this rates up there with the best! I am having a hard time understanding any of the less- positive reviews. :) My favorite dishes are the fajitas (any of them!), and the halibut tacos. My husband loves the Shrimp Chipolte and the Shrimp of the Devil. I have also tried their burritos and Carnitas. Yum! Their salsa is super good and their chips are usually great. If you are craving dessert, then I suggest the Sopapias. The servers are friendly and quick. If you are looking for a great little restaurant in Soldotna, this is your best bet.

Where I come from this would be considered average Mexican, if not a bit on the gloppy mess side. I ordered the seafood enchiladas. They were good but it was drowned in so much sauces between the beans, sour cream, cheese sauce, etc., it was a bit of a mess to eat and hard to really discern what was what. It hit the spot though... Open Sunday when many other businesses are closed, +1. Service was very good. Restaurant was very clean and being kept that way.

Stale chips and mediocre food, just ok IMO. Nothing special.
