I was very happy with our lunch at Christo's. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We ordered 3 child pizza's made the "Mason" way.. cheese only no sauce. Two house salads that were delicious, clam chowder with bread sticks and a chicken Gyro. Everyone was VERY happy with our meals. The kids gobbled their pizza's down and mine even wanted another one (I said no) Had a bit of sticker shock, $28.00 for lunch isn't the norm for us, but since we were on vacation I figured why not! ;-) I would definitely would be back and recommend Christo's!

I had what was probably the best salmon of my life here today! We went there for lunch today and asked for the freshest fish and ordered the blackened salmon; the combination of the perfect spices and the freshness of the fish made this the best meal I've had in a long time. The pizza came with a big salad and bread sticks which was a nice bonus. I did pay a pretty penny, $25, for the salmon. I would definitely recommend coming during lunch and saving money.

My boyfriend and I were in town for a winter weekend, which means that 90% of Seward is shutdown. All the good places like Ray's fly south for the winter, which left us looking for a decent place to eat on a Friday night. We weren't looking to break the bank but also didn't want to eat crappy bar food. We checked out Apollo's first which seemed outrageous ($20 for a small pizza) so we kept walking and came upon Christo's. We checked out the menu which still seemed a bit pricey, but we were starving so we bit the bullet and went in. In general their food seemed decent. The calzone that my boyfriend ordered was good. I really liked the pizza sauce they have. Their clam chowder was good but didn't come with bread or crackers. I like my chowder to be really chunky which theirs isn't. I ordered the shrimp salad which would have been good but it didn't come with any salad dressing. I would have asked for some but our server never made it back to the table so I ate it without. The biggest strike against this place is their prices. $60 for a calzone, bowl of chowder, salad and 2 beers. The food was not worth the price.

Great friendly service, very good food, prices a bit high for dinner, but pretty much as expected for the area. We went just before the dinner hour and they had a few good specials. Definitely would go back again when in the area.

Had a good waiter this time around...last time during the polar bear jump off, my waiter was slow and sat down twice with me. Once to take my order once to write the check. If the owner had been there, I know she would have kicked his rear. That was winter. Summer's here, service is good again, and the calzone is awesome. Good choice for dinner. Hey, back again this year, the calzones and calamari never disappoint. Good pasta, and it was the end of the night, so the large crowds were gone. Awesome server as well, he's been there for a few summers.

Very nice wait staff and friendly. The greek gyro pizza was my first and it was great. The Margherita pizza was not worth trying. Very close to the Sealife Center. Could use better lighting - unless that's how a palace should be?

Heard good things about Christo's. So we decided to try with our guests. Food was excellent. Service - not so good. It took 45 minutes and 3 reminders to receive the non-alcoholic beverages ie. coffee and diet coke. Waitress rarely showed her face at our table. Tip reflected lack of service and attention.

Had a bad feeling about this place as soon as we walked in but we were already committed. The building smelled like old seafood and musty carpet, which went perfectly with the lifeless decor. We ordered nachos as appetizers - they consisted of chips and cheese straight out of a bag with canned salsa on the side. The entrees were utterly tasteless and horrible - the seafood pasta I ordered was a bland pile of mush.

We tried the pizza as was suggested by our driver. While waiting, we saw at least 4 or 5 people come in and just pick up a pizza "to go". The ends of the crust were a bit too thick for us, but otherwise we were really pleased. The only reason I subtract a star? Our first waitress really gave us some attitude. Luckily for us (and the other waitress), she passed us off to someone else and the service improved. We were told that they didn't plan for so many people since it was near the end of the season. That's fine, but not a good reason to be rude to customers. Oh, and the hot buttered rum was delicious on a chilly Seward night!
Here on the yearly fishing trip...decided we wanted pizza. Saw the neighbor (a local) as we were leaving and asked her "Christo's or (the other place) for pizza?" to which she said without hesitation 'Christo's'. Boy was she right! We had a large Christo's special (combo)...cooked just right. Plenty of toppings/cheese, crust was slightly thick but tender, right up there on the yum-scale. Good selection of local beers, we made pigs out of ourselves, left 20% for the great service we had, and vowed we'd be back! Whether you like thick or thin crust, this is the place, you won't be sorry.

Food was excellent. The service was very good. Enjoyed the beer selection of local brew. Right near SeaLife center and the oceanfront. Prices are a bit high (even for Alaska) and not 100% kid friendly. I would definitely come back.

Very nice seafood restaurant in the downtown Seward area. The food was good and the seafood selection was plentiful. I had a seafood medley sauted veggies in a garlic wine sauce and the fish was way fresher and better than any I've had in Anchorage. The room is large and pleasant and the service is good.

I've eaten at Christo's once before. It was the week before 4th of July 2009. Food was great but the service was slow. Today, same thing. I thought being early in the tourist season would be better. Once we got a server things started to move. The Pizza is the only reason to come here and endure the slow pace. One other thing...sit at the front windows, you'll get to watch the daily life in Seward and the Sea Life pedestrian traffic as you wait and drool for that Pizza.

Usually, when we come to Seward, we head over to Ray's for a late lunch, but this visit, Ray's was still closed for the winter and decided to try Christo's. Glad we did. Initially, the service started out slow, but once our waiter took our orders, the service was much better. I ordered the Baked Halibut stuffed with Seafood, and though the halibut was a little dry, the cream sauce was absolutely delicious and made up for the dryness of the fish. Both my son's ordered pizzas. The crusts were baked to perfection and the report from the boys were that they were as good as they looked. Another diner with us ordered the Beer-Battered Halibut and the fish was cooked perfectly as were the fresh veggies. There was also full bar service, but since I was driving back to Anchorage, shortly after our meal, we passed. Christo's is just across the street from the Sea Life Center on the main drag of shops and restaurants, so very convenient to walk to after visiting the Sea Life Center. Save room for dessert, then walk up the street a couple buildings to have some gelato at Sweet Darlings. Great way to cap off a delicious meal at Christo's.

Can't vouch for the rest of the year, but we enjoyed our dinner here during a mid-March stay in the fine little burg of Seward. I had scallops that were nicely prepared and NOT over done. The fresh veg that accompanied the plate were crisp and hot. My dining mates had a sea food medley that they loved. As with the other restaurants in Seward, they have a fab collection of delicious Alaska brewed beer. The decor is vaguely lodge-like and comfortable. The staff was responsive and pleasant. I've read reviews of Christo's on other web sites that suggest the service is compromised in the busier time of the year. Can only vouch for our visit, which was fine. Nice place!

I try to get down to Seward for weekend retreats once a month or so even in the winter, so I always try to support the businesses that remain open all year. I love the fact that it is only two hours from Anchorage, which makes for a nice easy getaway. T Cristo's is one of my favorite spots to dine in Seward, it has a comfortable and pleasent atmosphere as well as consistently good fare. I most often get a steak or fish dinner, and can't recall ever being disapointed. It is also possable to get a decent glass of wine. This is a quaint dining experience that makes my adventures to Seward, that much more rewarding.

Passable food, but was my least favorite place we ate in Seward. My French Dip sandwich was mediocre (meat mediocre, au jus way too salty). My husband enjoyed his pepperoni pizza; we were told by some locals that this place is known for its pizza. Seems like it started out originally as a Greek restaurant (hence the name, awkward interior, and Greek items on the menu), but I guess they've had to sink to the lowest common denominator in terms of Alaskan/tourist cuisine in order to survive in Seward. If I were you, I'd give this one a miss and go to one of the real highlights of Seward, like the Smoke Shack!

This was better than I expected, really alright. Three of us had the seafood special (scallops, king-crab, halibut, prawns, etc.) which was very good. The crab legs were a tad salty, but the scallops were delicious and the mixture of vegetables and seafood quite good.. One of our party had spaghetti bolognese (not sure if they called it that), which was also good. Mixed drinks were not their forte. The restaurant is in town, so a little less touristy than the places on the main waterfront. It appears to specialize in Italian and seafood. They have burgers, steak and prime rib on the menu, and all I can say is that they're a long way from beef country, and people who got beef at adjacent tables were much less happy than we were. Stick to italian and seafood, and you'll do well.

Went to Christo's on a little vacation weekend. Menu seems to change every year. I ordered the salad which was supposed to come with lettuce, hard boiled egg, olives, onions, shredded cheese, bacon, and tomatoes. I got lettuce with egg, cheese and tomatoes and had to ask the server for the rest of the items that were supposed to come in the salad. But when added to the salad it was great and what I expected. Husband ordered the filet with a $10 side of crab, but when ordered medium rare it came out well done (no pink at all) so they made him a new steak and that came out super rare (of course). So frustrating. Basically took both pieces of meat home and made epic breakfast burritos since neither was suitable for eating as a steak. Plus the quality of that "filet" was super questionable. And seasoning was nil. However, the veggies, potato, and crab were great. Service was great. The pizzas smelled amazing.

Food was good. Enjoyed Salmon burger, soups, Prime Rib sandwich and Greek salad., among other selections. Service was average but two problems, our beer tasted funny - tap lines weren't cleared before our beer was poured and our waiter added 20% tip automatically to our bill for party of 5. Menu stated 18% would be added for parties of 6 or more. In addition, he added the 20% on top of the taxed amount. This kind of service does nothing to impress a diner and customer. Poor choice on the waiters part. When we mentioned it to him, he stated, "that's just what we do here". Check your bill people. Waiter did replace beer with fresh tasting one but we all left with a bad taste in our mouth from the greedy tip addition.

We left the Sea Life Center and went to find a meal. This is the first place you come to walking up 4th St. After checking out nearly every place in town looking for seafood that wasn't either fried or $$$$$, we ended up back at Christo's. The service was quick and friendly, and our salmon was excellent. I would go back.

We went fishing in Seward twice over our 10 day stay in Alaska, and we got Christo's both times. The pizza was really great, and a few in our party got the gyro plate, which they really liked. I ordered the mexican pizza and it was fantastic. Once we ate in the restaurant and once we ordered to go, and both times we were happy with our experience. Great hours. We would get off the boat late and they would be open.

Got in to town late on a Friday in late September. Most of the downtown restaurants were shut down, but this place was close and open. They had a good selection of Alaska brews on draft, so we both started with a porter from a brewery in Kenai that we had not seen in Anchorage. Probably one of the lesser popular beers there, as it had that funky taste from sitting in the lines too long. I had a cup of clam chowder that was a little weak, and some sort of grilled halibut fettuccine with spinach and asparagus that was pretty good. Second beer was a more common Alaskan Amber, and that was fine. Overall not a bad experience, but it sounds like there may be some better options in town. Wished I had done a little Yelp research beforehand.

If you want good mashed potatoes, this is your place. IF you hope to take advantage of Seward's fresh seafood, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. King crab legs were overcooked, and portions were minuscule for the price.

If you live in Anchorage, and moved from a major city down in the 48, you know damn well that the pizza in A-Town sucks! All of it, period. Christo's restored my faith in pizza in Alaska! Damn good! It's worth a drive from Anchorage just for a pie...seriously...do it! Eat there! It's great!

We tried this restaurant on the recommendation of the hotel clerk who checked us in. We were pleased, even if the service was a little slow. I had the grilled halibut portabello. I don't think it was actually portabello mushrooms, though. The spinach/asparagus/mushroom didn't do much for me but the fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. It also seemed like the pasta was homemade, very flavorful and thicker than standard box pasta. The others with me had the smoked salmon fettuccine and chicken/artichoke penne and were pleased with their meals. Would definitely go back if we were in town again.

First of all, it seems the map display on this web site is a bit off. This restaurant is in town. Anyways, you know the stare people have when the service is just lousy? Yup, you'd find that here at Christo's Palace. Other sites have indicated the lack of service here...they're right. The restaurant was maybe 30% full (lots-o-seating) so it wasn't on cruise ship night. Just slow. The only saving grace...GREAT pizza. Great variety, and odd combinations. We had the gyro pizza...delish. Suggestion: Order the pizza to-go. Walk three doors up to the liquor store and get yourself a beverage. Walk two blocks down to the waterfront and eat and drink it there ( don't blame me for your open container fine) Its too bad the slow service (they looked like they were trying) overshadowed the good/ great food.

Let's face it, the pickin's in town are slim, to say the least. That being said, this place served the best takeout salmon dinner I've ever had! Very well-prepared & moist. Yeah, the price was steep, but that's a tune off a broken record, ahem MP3 player, up here in the last frontier. Definitely recommend!

Horrible, too expensive for a cheap, taseless product. I ordered the fried cod, the cod was cold, the batter mushy, the vegetables were cold and too salty and the jasmine rice was cold, old and long grain, not jasmine... I guess I picked the wrong food at this place. I ordered steak.. Which by the way I had seen menus that it was filet mignon they served, but this time it was new York. It was "ok" . We ate early, since we still had to get to Whittier, so getting a table wasn't a problem. Our waitress was right there and offered some helpful suggestions. My wife got the seafood saute, and I was going to order 1/2 lb of King crab legs for dinner. The waitress suggested we split the saute and order the crab legs as an appetizer, saving us $9. She brought out extra plates and breadsticks for the salad, again sharing my wife's order. We enjoyed it so much, and since we'd saved $9 off the top, we ordered desert and still came out money ahead. A very nice meal!

(2)C. P.
Great friendly service, very good food, prices a bit high for dinner, but pretty much as expected for the area. We went just before the dinner hour and they had a few good specials. Definitely would go back again when in the area.

awesome grilled seafood combo: prawns, salmon & halibut w steamed veggie, & roasted red potatoes. veggie supreme was flavorful & well done. I esp enjoed the Greek salad w homemade oil & vinegar. we had angry orchard on tab:-)
(5)Damien F.
Scallops were way over cooked. Service was next to nonexistent on a slow winter night. Prices were high. Won't ever be going back.
(1)Amy R.
This place gets the award the value. We had a pizza with left overs, breadsticks and salad for $35. The pizza was solid. We enjoyed ourselves and had good service.
(4)Julie R.
Awesome waiter!! Pinot Grigio was yummy and the ceviche is so amazing!!! Must stop here. Atmosphere is nice and quiet. But they serve pizza so it's a win win for families :)
(5)T.L. T.

Give this an Alaskan 3 star. Less in other parts of US. Had cheese pizza only because I did not want to try anything else here. My travelling buddy found fish/seafood good to mediocre.,, depending on which...
(3)Troy M.
Very nice wait staff and friendly. The greek gyro pizza was my first and it was great. The Margherita pizza was not worth trying. Very close to the Sealife Center. Could use better lighting - unless that's how a palace should be?
(4)Tamie T.
(3)Gabe D.
(1)Melissa G.
(4)John H.
Just across the street from the Alaska Sea Life Center. Checked out the specials board near the door, from which we ordered wines by the glass. Denali Dancer ordered a Greek salad, and I selected the seafood sautée. The sautée had moist, flavorful rice, fresh vegetables, along with half a crab claw, a crab joint, a silver-dollar-sized piece of halibut, a slightly smaller scallop, and a couple shrimp. I could eat a plate like that every day, and feel healthy. If you face the window, and the weather is right, you'll see the snow-capped peaks on the other side of Resurrection Bay.

(4)Jeff H.
Food was excellent. The service was very good. Enjoyed the beer selection of local brew. Right near SeaLife center and the oceanfront. Prices are a bit high (even for Alaska) and not 100% kid friendly. I would definitely come back.
(4)Christie B.

(4)David B.
Nice place!
(4)Michael S.
(5)Kate M.
(3)Morgan R.
This was better than I expected, really alright. Three of us had the seafood special (scallops, king-crab, halibut, prawns, etc.) which was very good.

Went here lastnight for dinner For was great and large portions But reason for three stars is service sucked took them ten minutes to even come talk to us and that only happened cause hubby went and got someone We orderd calamari and drinks then entrees we only saw our server three times not counting when he took our money rest of time someone else served us and it's not like it was busy there were only five other tables and three servers a busser and a bartender If it wasn't for the great food we would of left

Horrible, too expensive for a cheap, taseless product. I ordered the fried cod, the cod was cold, the batter mushy, the vegetables were cold and too salty and the jasmine rice was cold, old and long grain, not jasmine... Oh, the order was suppose to have 8 pieces for $25.00, I received 7 very small pieces. This place had such a great reputation, I am so disappointed ;(...

I guess I picked the wrong food at this place. I ordered steak.. Which by the way I had seen menus that it was filet mignon they served, but this time it was new York. It was "ok" . Nothing extra ordinary. A bit disappointed and I ended up paying $70 for a dinner for two that I didn't enjoy much :( the waitress was awesome though. Very nice lady.
(3)John S.
(5)Praveen P.
Really good food. The blacked salmon we ordered was the best I've had at Seward so far. Service: unlike another review, we were really taken care of.
(5)Alexandria S.
Fantastic service & great food. Our waitress was top notch, super nice and attentive! We had a grilled chicken salad & medium pizza. The salad was huge, the lettuce was crisp, tomatoes were ripe and the chicken was grilled perfectly and not dry. We were stuffed after just the salad but the pizza smelled so good we had to try a piece...wow! Great dough and sauce! Large portions and prices are fair for the area.

Definitely would go back again when in the area.

awesome grilled seafood combo: prawns, salmon & halibut w steamed veggie, & roasted red potatoes. veggie supreme was flavorful & well done. I esp enjoed the Greek salad w homemade oil & vinegar. we had angry orchard on tab:-)

Scallops were way over cooked. Service was next to nonexistent on a slow winter night. Prices were high. Won't ever be going back.

This place gets the award the value. We had a pizza with left overs, breadsticks and salad for $35. The pizza was solid. We enjoyed ourselves and had good service.

Awesome waiter!! Pinot Grigio was yummy and the ceviche is so amazing!!! Must stop here. Atmosphere is nice and quiet. But they serve pizza so it's a win win for families :)

Give this an Alaskan 3 star. Less in other parts of US. Had cheese pizza only because I did not want to try anything else here. My travelling buddy found fish/seafood good to mediocre.,, depending on which...
