Updated 3/2014: Well i think they have gotten a bit better, and i raised my review from 1 to 3 stars, but would have possibly chosen 2.5 to be a bit more nuetral. I have at least given them a chance and gone back a few times, and i have to say that though most of the food is still questionable, i have found a few things on the menu that are pretty good. First of all the chicken Chowmein is actually quite tasty, secondly the Mongolian beef is usually pretty good, though a couple of times, the meat has seemed old and ahd a gross taste, third the sesamie chicken, when prepared well is also pretty good. Sadly most of the time, the food tastes like ti is being made with low quality meats, and in a less than clean environment. Where i moved from every little chinese place on every corner was pretty good, and at least was good quality, thats why i find it so hard to grasp how these guys cant make deep fried chicken quite right. I wish i could just swap one of the worst places there (in Salt Lake City) with this place, because i am a big lover of Chinese food. With just some minor tweaks this place could be pretty good. Though severely outdated, the atmosphere is pretty good, and though often short handed, the staff is quite friendly, Additionally, they hold a stand every year for the much anticipated "kodiak Crab fest" and the food they serve there is really really good! why cant they just cook the same stuff the same way all year round? Here is my orriginal review: Well, it's the only Chinese place in town, but if any Asian will do you'd be better off at Noodles up the street (Thai/pho) also the Safeway has about as good or possibly better Chinese food at the deli counter. Never tried the burger because I was told to avoid them by people who have been here longer than me. The place is pretty trashy, and the menu is scattered and really not very vast, the daily specials are really limited and include random combinations and they are strict about no substitutions even to long time locals. My egg flower soup was basically store bought chicken noodle with egg and cabbage added, "fried" rice is just lightly tossed in soy sauce and some mixing added.

I asked for the burger cooked medium rare and got well done, which tells me that they use packaged frozen burgers and for 11 dollars I expect to have a fresh burger every time. The decor is terrible just like the idea. The menu was one of the most scatterbrained I have ever seen, but probably could have guessed that from the name of the restaurant.

Came in and the place was empty and very clean. Sat right down and was wired on promptly. Had the General Tso's combo. Pretty good, we didn't really care for the soups (egg flower & wanton). The family got the Mongolian beef and sweet and sour combos and thought it was good.

Very clean place and accommodating service. Food was pretty good. Had the chicken cho mein and would get it again. Drinks were low in carbonation but we let them know and they brought us a soda in the can. Overall a good experience.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
