A bit of a drive to get to, but worth it. I went there on a weekday morning and the place was empty. The exotic combinations and flavors for the waffle choices just works. My favorite name was the Chocolate Jesus. Not a waffle person, I went all the same and ordered the special. It was a bit pricey compared to the waffle, but well worth it since it had no waffles in it. The hash was just the right amount of food and I had a bite of a waffle and didn't hate it. It wasn't crunchy or hard, but i was able to bite down without busting a tooth.

It's interesting to look at the other reviews written, clearly the new owner is focusing on the tourist business. The menu is constantly changing and for those wanting a consistent experience, it is a poor choice as a business model. Two friends walked out recently because the waffles they wanted is no longer on the menu, this has happen twice to them, Gonzo didn't have a close enough substitute. The prices are too high for the locals who just want a good cup of coffee and basic breakfast. The front page on yelp says the prices are "under $10", well for a plain waffle perhaps, but most items are well over $10.00. I was at the old Waffle house 2-3 times a week. Between the change in hours, kitchen doesn't open till 8am, prices and atmosphere I only go with friends less than once a month.

This cafe is within walking distance of the school campus. They provide free wifi and wonderful coffee and pastries. I like coming here to do work or when I need to a change of environment to hang out in. The staff are always really helpful and nice!

Popped in for tea during rainy morning. The service was fast and the tea was well made. The couch by the bay view window was comfortable and a nice way for us to warm our bones before catching the ferry. The place was well decorated- definitely geared toward university students, but nothing wrong with that. I'd definitely visit this place again next time I'm in Juneau. Check it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The food is great and the presentation of every plate I have seen is beautiful. Fast service, great food, friendly staff makes this a great place to drop in and try it.

The decor of the restaurant is warm and welcoming. They have a plethora of food choices, but their specialty is waffles. They have a unique assortment of waffle plates that are not what most are accustom too. I have the Carnivore Waffles; meat filled waffles with layer with white gravy. They also have great burgers too!

We walked here from UAS campus and it was not too far. We got the James Franco, the Neeky Ninja and the Amateur Chocolatier. James Franco was very filling and with an extra egg on top it's extra eggy. The Ninja was a ton of food and very sweet but definitely something to split amongst two people. The Chocolatier was more peanut butter than chocolate but was still good. The Honeydew Melon Bubble Tea was not what I was expecting. Rather than blended it was just boba on bottom with ice to the top. Not mixed very well and there was a good amount of sugar left on the bottom. Vanilla coffee was not bad either. Pretty nice interior. Only reasons it's a 4/5 is because it took a good awhile to get our food.

It's tough to rate this place, thinking about how much I loved the waffle company. To be fair, the staff was very friendly. We came in on a Wednesday at 11 so it was fairly quiet. It is a great place to get work done as they have free wifi and their snacks are yummy. We had the Cats Meow reminiscent of the old scrambled egg waffle but this one is not served with salsa or sour cream on side. Salsa (which I did not like the favor- recommend asking for it on the side) was placed on top of the eggs and sour cream was drizzled on top (looks pretty but you are barely able to balance the flavors). Also, the egg is not cooked into the waffle, it is simply scrambled eggs placed on top of a waffle. The strawberry rhubarb waffle was nice. But minus one star mainly because of the hours. This used to be our favorite spot to have coffee or splurge and have dessert after dining out, but they now close at 6pm!

The kitchen doesn't open until 8am so nothing but pastry and coffee from 6 til 8. What's that about? The pastry I got was just ok, nothing special about it. It was flaky but dry at the same time and while the flavor was alright it didn't really stand out at all. The atmosphere was good while I was there, very relaxed. College alternative mix playing in the background, not too loud. Clean dining area. Coffee was nice and hot.

All I can say is yum. This place is amazing. The waffles are perfectly cooked and there is a waffle that will satisfy every tastebud. The friendly, helpful and quick service is a great compliment to the great food and coffee.

Cafe closes at 6 p.m. We came in at 5:20 p.m. and were told that kitchen is closed. No waffles for us. Boo!

I. Love. This. Place. I want to stuff their waffles in my face. Their coffee is great, the place is cute, the staff is infectious and awesome. The only downfall, their closed on Tuesdays :( my day off -_-

Food is overpriced compared to SE Waffle Co. Hours is way too short. Too bad we lost Southeast Waffle Co. Closing at 6 pm is too early for people to have a place to hang out in Juneau.

I have finally had the chance to get out and get some amazing hospitality and food. Normally Southeast Alaska food is hit and miss. Not so with Gonzo, formerly the "Southeast Alaskan Waffle Company" While walking in you are met with colorful chic walls, and a very hospitable and knowledgeable staff. You have many varieties of waffles to choose from, ranging in Savory or Sweet combinations. The prices are right and food is mouthwatering, and each morsel melts with every shoveled mouthful.
