We truly walked off the ferry, dropped our things off at our house and found this place. We've frequented here several times in our short time here. Staff is friendly, even comical and entertaining. Their food is wonderful! Udon is only served for lunch to my daughters dismay. Sushi is made fresh. Miso soup is yummy. We ordered the 50pc sushi boat and it was all devoured quickly. Prices are a bit high, but then again, we're used to lower-48 prices. Excellent place to dine!

This is the restaurant that made him love sushi! Yes, my companion now shares my love for sushi. His favorite is the Phoenix roll and we always order at least two when we go in. Fried potstickers are PERFECT! Not deep fried and overcooked. Fish is always very fresh and delicious though I wish they would carry Ika Nigiri. I ask every time I go in just in case. Last time I had false hope when they said yes but returned to the table a bit later to apologize. I also wish that they carried sparkling flavored sake. The sashimi combo is delicious, especially the local sockeye (red) salmon (sake) and even the octopus (tako) is tender (it has always been tough when I have had it up north). If you are 2 or fewer people skip the deluxe sashimi--it is far too much of the same kind of fish to enjoy and it really should have more variety. Same goes for the big combination platters/boats. Wasabi here is excellent and quite hot but not so hot that you cannot use it. The pickled ginger is also the best I have ever had. Pretty much any roll that has their spicy mayo and tobiko/flying fish roe is going to be good. I am not a fan of California rolls but that's how they dress them up for the Phoenix roll. The Las Vegas roll is similar but not as tasty. The tempura shrimp roll is also good. Tonkatsu in the bento boxes is very good. The staff and chefs are awesome. Please bring back the shabu shabu!! I want to try it! It is still on the menu but they never have it. When I inquired they said "maybe next winter". The next time I inquired they said probably never. Sometimes they forget to bring you the miso soup and they do not normally include a salad. Skip the tempura (flavorless and they bring you the wrong sauce). Unfortunately the last time my partner must've had a bad piece of fish and he was sick overnight.

Being from one of the Sushi capitals of North America, I've been spoiled. This was a good meal ...nothing wrong with it. No Uni, no Sardines, no fresh Wasabi. Sake for on the spendy side - $13.75/375ml bottle. ($10/750ml in SF) Wait-Staff was absent from view alot. With only 3 out of +20 tables occupied. ..??? I'd recommend for a quick lunch snack only. Save your Sushi fix for the mainland. I will not return.

'We don't have that on the menu but I will make it for you'! Great service, fresh food and they're okay with special requests.

I'm allergic to avocado (I know, it's a tragedy) and was trying to navigate the menu for something without it. The server identified heard me and offered to have anything made without it. The Bulldog roll wasn't quite what I wanted, I realized after getting it, but that isn't their fault. I usually like something with more meat. And it was good. Not awesome, but good. The spicy tuna salad was better. Soda was served in a 20 oz bottle with a glass of ice. Lost a star for that.

Teriyaki chicken and tempura ($15.95 at dinner) was quite good. It came from the kitchen piping hot (except the tempura dipping sauce, which was cool) and nicely presented. It included grilled and sliced chicken (mix of light and dark) on a bed of shredded cabbage and topped with teriyaki sauce. The sauce was much better than expected -- it had a clearly discernible soy base with light sweetness. One large scoop of sticky white rice on the side. The tempura had a nice mix: potato, broccoli, green bean, carrot, mushroom, onion and two good size shrimp. It was hot and crispy, and the vegetables were perfectly done: still a tad crisp. As mentioned above, the dipping sauce wasn't hot; the only negative on the plate. The salad was a simple romaine and julienned carrot affair, with a tasty ginger dressing. Service was a highlight. I was greeted warmly as I walked in and seated quickly. The very polite waiter returned promptly to take my order and the food came out in good time. My empty plate disappeared right away and I wasn't kept waiting for the bill. I can't comment on their sushi, but Little Tokyo does a good job with teriyaki and tempura. Definitely worth a visit.

Pretty good food. They have a small selection of beer and most of their drinks are in bottles. I got the Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail Sashimi and they were decent sized pieces. The salmon was not as fresh as I was expecting. I also got the baked green mussels. Not the best I have ever had, but they were still tasty and flavorful. All in all it was good just a bit pricey for little amounts of food, but it's sushi so what do you expect!

Little Tokyo is my go-to spot for lunch or dinner in downtown Juneau. It is far superior in price and quality to Seong's (who refuse to pay their municipal taxes, by the way). Little Tokyo has an extensive menu with something for everyone. I am partial to the sushi, but I hear the other hot dishes are wonderful. Sit at the sushi bar, and you will have a new best friend, Chef Steve (or as we like to call him, "Sushi Steve"). He told me that he's The Nicest Guy in Juneau. I haven't seen any scientific data to back up that claim, but it could be true. Steve and the rest of the staff are super and friendly.

This is the best sushi in town! Nobody has the selection they offer and they are the only ones with monkey brian! I will only come to little Little Tokyo! If you haven't tried it you much come down here and give it a try!

Little Tokyo has the best sushi in Juneau. Unfortunately, the best Juneau has to offer is mediocre. If you're craving sushi in Juneau, Little Tokyo is your best bet, but keep your expectations low. The service, however, is quick and friendly.

Great service. Was here on a Friday night around 6, not too crowded. Had the Sumo roll which I really enjoyed. Also ordered the Oh Baby Roll, with fresh crab in it...and it was not my favorite. You could really taste the freshness of the crab (which I love), but the roll needed some fat or flavor, it was just kinda bland to me. But I would go back, just not get that same roll.

I've been here on business travel on several occasions throughout the years. I agree with the other reviewers that they have the best sushi in town and have been dependable in food and service quality. Juneau is a small city so set your expectations accordingly and you will have a great time. The restaurant is well laid out and quite large inside. They have lunch specials, but I always go for a couple of the larger, creative rolls. I will always suggest this place if someone asks me where to find sushi in Juneau.

Enjoyed sushi, teriyaki, fried calamari, seaweed salad--tasty and presented with pride. Friendliest service in Juneau.

Don't judge a restaurant by its sign... this place is the Juneau Japanese restaurant you want to go to. With an inconceivably large selection of sushi and unbelievably fast service, this is a place we will be going back to.

By far the best sushi in Juneau. The fish has always been fresh, but more importantly, they really do the rice right. The rest is ok, but man, good sushi is good sushi. Oh. And they deliver!

After in living in Juneau for a little bit, I can say that this is the best sushi in town and probably that I have ever had. The owners previously (which are probably the same ones) ran an Italian restaurant in the same location, then recently turned it into Little Tokyo. I recommend the Las Vegas Roll and Fried Rice, DELISH!!

Now, currently as a Japanese themed restaurant, Little Tokyo, seemed empty of customers the few times I passed by it, till a group I was with decided to come here for dinner after the monthly event First Friday. They offer lunch specials from 11am to 3 pm; sushi combination, sashimi combination, udon, appetizers, salads, bento boxes, fresh fish roll, nigiri, family special dinner, tempera roll, baked roll, hand roll, Japanese dinner dishes, chef special rolls, party platters, deserts and beverages. We ordered bento boxes, which allowed us to sample several items at a reasonable cost. Another member of our group ordered a 40 piece sushi boat for USD 40 so that each person may have four pieces, working out to a dollar a piece. The food was quite good here. They served the correct tempura dipping sauce with the tempura when they initially forgot with our bento box orders. Credit cards accepted. Opened late till 2am on Friday-Saturday.

Great staff and food. Not much to look at from the outside of the building but don't be fooled. Nice atmosphere inside. Serves sushi, Bento boxes, Udon and Tempura. Our table had a Sushi, Fried Rice and Tempura. All were good. The local caught fresh salmon was the best I've ever had.

Nicest server ever; not too crowded on a Friday night. They were willing to take a reservation for us, and then the chefs spoiled us rotten with special items when they found out there was a birthday girl at the table. Spicy tuna was great--not overly laden with mayonnaise, and there were several sashimi standouts, snapper and scallops among them. We loooooved the 50 piece sushi boat and we will definitely be back for more! I later heard this place was closed for renovations and hope it'll still be re-opened by the same owners, as we very much enjoyed their hospitality.
