I asked the bartender at the Triangle Club where to go for sushi in Juneau, and he said this was the spot. He was probably right, but I wouldn't exactly call Juneau a sushi utopia. As the bartender promised, the sushi here was what you'd expect in a place where 9 out of 10 of your customers are either professional or at least experienced amateur fishermen. Good fresh, seafood served promptly. I was a little disappointed when they asked me if I wanted something to drink. I said sure, bring over my friend Jack. Sorry, no bar. Not even beer or wine. Prices weren't unreasonable, but weren't necessarily a bargain either. I paid around $16 for a sashimi special, and when the sushi chef saw how much I was enjoying and appreciating his fare (little tip, sushi chefs lke to see you appreciating their craft, not wolfing fish down like a hungry bear) he treated me to a couple of little extras.

Best quality teriyaki I have found in Juneau. They also have Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, and Japanese. I believe they have a separate sushi spot called Little Tokyo for more sushi.

Do not order Thai or Chinese. The worse Basil/Spicy pork and Kung Pao chicken I've ever tasted! My husband and I were in Juneau for a port stop on the Princess cruise and walked in because the restaurant seemed busy. And we were totally disappointed! Not sure if other dishes were better!

Wow, I never realized how many Chinese restaurants there are here. Anyhoo, this place is just as good as any of them. It's really crowded at lunch during the week so beware. You can just call your order ahead of time and then just pick it up, though.

Worst meal of my life and the worst service. Hot and sour soup that was terribly over-spiced with white pepper. We sent it back, but not before an argument with the surly waiter. The shrimp were rubber. Terrible - terrible - terrible.

So as we've been walking around the city of Juneau for a few hours; the hunger pangs begin to tell me our breakfast is wearing off, and it's definitely time for lunch, and as we scan the landscape, we see it.. Kenny's Wok and Teriyaki, and as we're a couple of Hawaii Islanders in need of a rice fix... BOING! (No brainer!) It's not really a big place, but it's well lit by alot of windows, and the host is friendly, so it makes for comfortable dining. The menu's quite large with selections that we as islanders can relate to. . We ordered the Bento Box #2, @ $13.95, comes with Teri Beef, California rolls, Prawn Tempura, Fried Pot Stickers, and also soup and salad. It was big enough for us to share, as we needed to save ourselves for dinner. It's presentation was nice, but sad to say the taste left us wanting a bit more. I guess some of us can sorta relate; where it looks YUMMMM! But it tastes HHHHMMMM? ( as you look up to the ceiling, with one crooked eyebrow, ala The Rock!) In my own humble opinion Kenny's food was good... not catch a plane to Alaska good, but good enough!

This was really poor food! Kids sweet & sour chicken - not sweet or sour. My son wouldn't even eat his egg roll? Had 2 types of curry- bland very few vegetables ! Large portions but who wants to eat it? My husband said the Kung pow ok?? I just wanted out. I should have left when I heard the staff apologizing to customer about fried rice, as we were being seated!

Fantastic service and food. We had a group of people and we all sampled the Udon soup, the Mongolian beef bowl, the beef and broccoli bowl. In addition, when we told the waitress/owner that we liked kimchi, she brought out homemade kimchi made from cabbage, onions, celery and carrots with spicy red sauce. We also tried their California roll and another specialty roll made with fresh real crab. Everything was excellent and authentic. A big thumbs up and a huge surprise for Juneau!!!

I've been craving sushi for a few months now and haven't had my fix - so its been building up for a while. And unfortunately, this just didn't do it for me. It was just bland and uninteresting. Service was friendly but not helpful (really? you can't make my roll without avocado?) and they forgot to split our check. I remember loving this place a few years ago, so maybe if I went back for some Kung Pao or something, I'd like it...but I won't go back for sushi.

Okay so I haven't eaten here in a long time because well it isn't good. But it recently came under new management so I thought I would give it a try again. Nope still not good, it is the blandest food I have ever had it just all tastes the same and its not good. I really want to like this place because it is so close to my house but sadly I don't.

Situated conveniently in the middle of downtown Juneau, Kenny's stands out as one of the capital's premier dining establishments. The owner runs other restaurants with similar menu items in town and other communities in Southeast Alaska. I've tried out most of them, and one thing I can say about them is the quality of service and food is consistent between restaurants. I have heard of mixed opinions from the locals on which restaurant offers the best sushi in town. I've tried the other sushi spots in town and I believe that by far Kenny's has the best value for sushi. Dishes worth trying are the teriyaki and katsu dishes. Both the chicken and beef teriyaki are presented well. They have a charbroiled flavor with a sauce that is not overpowering. Both the chicken and pork katsu are breaded and fried to perfection, with the pork having a little more flavor than the chicken from the natural flavor of the meat. One item I didn't particularly enjoy was their yakisoba. While it had a nice assortment of chopped vegetables, it was doused with grease and didn't have much flavor. I ended up adding a little bit of soy sauce and salt. The service and ambiance is one of the best one will find in the downtown area. High ceilings and orange tones make this clean establishment warm and appetite inducing. A flat panel TV showing ESPN at times hangs above the sushi bar and creates a more casual atmosphere.

Above-average japanese/chinese restaurant. They just had a grand re-opening with the original owner taking it over again so I gave it a try. The teriyaki chicken - kung pao combination was very nice, with decent but not oversized portions along with an egg roll and soup. The waiter warned me that the kung pao was spicy and it was but not terribly so. I appreciated the warning though. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food was good. Service wasn't as fast as it could be but it was acceptable. I'll be back.

Kenny's Wok & Teriyaki served me tempura with sweet & sour sauce, when I complained that it should be with tempura dipping sauce the server didn't care nor brought me tempura dipping sauce. Even if the place is busy with customers and their food is pretty good. Failing to serve the proper sauce for the food is an automatic failure.

I am very surprised by the one poor review for this place. They have a sushi bar and serve Japanese and Chinese dishes. I had a bento box which had chicken teriyaki, California roll (sushi), dumplings (i.e. pot sticker or gyosa), salad and rice. It was a pleasant, tasty surprise. The service is excellent, and the workers are very friendly and polite, opening the door for customers and greeting them. I love a good California roll, and this definitely measured up. The price was very reasoable.

Kenny's is awesome, the service is amazing, portions are great, and the 4th star is because they deliver. There is nothing better than getting sushi delivered on a snowy Alaskan day. They are bit pricey but it's Juneau so everything cost more. Hubby wasn't impressed with terriyaki salmon he said it was overcooked so on behalf of him I had to deduct one star but I prefer the sushi anyway; my favs volcano scallop roll and the Soft shell crab roll. No doubt I would order from them again and again even if it's only sushi that's all I really want :)
