This place was great. Yes, it was a bit run down but it was still a wonderful stay. We got what may have been the best view room in the whole place. We were on the top floor, in the corner, overlooking Gastineau Channel. It did get a bit noisy at night because that is also the direction of the bar scene, but I'm used to wearing ear plugs. The first day, there was a loud fan sound coming from the restroom vent and associated wind noise from the old windows. The room was quite chilly. On the second day both ceased and the room was a bit warmer. I am concerned that this place may never get an update or most of the city, for that matter, because the majority of the tourist economy comes from the docking cruise ships whose patrons have no need for the town's hotels. If I ever make it back to Juneau, I'm TOTALLY going to stay here.

What a great hotel! Starbucks in the lobby for my morning jolt, great food in the restaurant for my evening indulgence. Friendly and helpful staff and a dead center of it all location. We can see all the mountains and down to the docks where the cruise ships disgorge their gore-tex covered dollar signs. Wonderful!

Ok its 50 degrees outside, and feels like the sahara desert in my roon. If it gets any hotter in here this 100 year old tinder box may go up in flames. However it does remind me of visiting my grandmas house. Tiney room, everything except the tv is super old. The shower head is about a foot lower than a normal shower built after 1950. If you get the front side of the building you get to hear car alarms, fire trucks, and best of all some of Juneaus finest drunks yelling at 10 pm, and then again at 2 am when the bars close. If you get the backside of the building you also get to hear alarms, trucks, and the local drunks. But you won't have to worry about all the outside noise due to the paper thin walls, you get to hear all the conversations, toilets flushing, and every other peep that is usually muffled in a hotel built before 1950. Thanks for reminding me why I never want to come to juneau again.

This place is very very run down and it doesn't have to be. Westmark really needs to put some capital into it. The rooms are small and that can't be helped. They've made a good use of space, although the rooms do feel very cramped. They remodeled the bathrooms with some nice fixtures and that's a plus. TV very small but the beds and linens are very comfortable. Parking sucks!!

The hotel looks OK from the outside, and the room is small but clean. Most of the furniture reminds me the 80's. I gave it OK, because I understood that it's the best one in Juneau.

Charming Vintage Hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. It was nice to stay downtown while in Juneau for business. It seems that long over due renovations are in the works, some recommendations to make this a hotel One I would look forward to staying at again...move the dumpster, repair the minimal parking lot, reserve it for guests first and ask daytime conference goers to park in nearby public parking (not the other way around), since the cafe, restaurant and bar are not open early (and nothing is available before 6am within walking distance) provide coffee and tea in the lobby, (Delta and Alaska have a continental breakfast set up (apparently only for employees and not people taking their early flights)), the rooms are small so ditch the extra twin size bed and upgrade to one queen (I prefer a firmer mattress), oh and please provide black out curtains or shades, those of us from the lower 48 aren't used to the constant twilight. Overall the location and staff made this a pleasant stay. I hope that the hotel is successful with their refresh and the property's potential is restored.

Not sure if this is what all hotels in Juneau are like but i don't think I'd be staying here again if i had the chance. The room was very small, the bed was horrible, the toilet needed to be fixed my last day there (chain came off the lever inside the tank) and the shower curtain didn't hold back the water so when i get out there was a mini flood even though i had the curtain completely closed. The only thing saving them from 1 star was the fact that the room was clean and the old TV did have a good choice of cable channels. I think from now on my trips to Juneau will be down and back the same day.
