Great pizza! Amazing view! The dough is a little sweet, but really good! I highly recommend the 5 cheese pizza and the cheese sticks! The cheese sticks aren't you standard mozzarella sticks. They're pizza dough topped with toasty cheese....yummm!

Ordered 2 large pizzas on 9/5/15 and had them delivered to our hotel. Service took a little over an hour but well worth the wait! This pizza was amazing and worth the price! When you are dead tired from being out on a charter all day and you just want to relax in your hotel, go for Starvin Marvin's, its so worth it!

This place is ok, not too bad but I give it a 2 because the dough of the pizza is pretty sweet, almost like the taste of sweet Hawaiian bread... It just didn't go well with the toppings. The service was just fine, our waitress was friendly and attentive. We got the special: 2 large 2 topping pizza for $30, so they have a decent price.

They have a private recipe for their dough and it is AMAZING. I am not sure how this place has the reviews that it does but even IF I received poor service (which I've never experienced) I would give this place 5 stars for the food alone. I have dealt with Lori (forgive me if I have misspelled your name!) the majority of my visits and she has been fantastic. This is also a Veteran Friendly establishment.

Best pizza in Homer! Small Town feel with great taste. You can always get a slice is pizza or you can also get a full pizza. Always great way to go for specials also.

Top 5 worst service in a restaurant ever. We got sat and then promptly ignored by the owner/manager and another young "waitress". After reading another review from a year ago and the nonchalant attitude we got, it's clear that they could care less about service. We had to complain to get our order taken. It then took almost half an hour for our cheesebread to come out. The owner/manager put it down and told us she would bring us plates and be right back. She then proceeded to ignore us so we got up and got our own plates. She then brought our pizza a few minutes later and that was the last we saw of her until flagging her down to give her our credit card. Drinks sat empty with not even a glance. Normally I don't let service affect the rating much but this was unacceptable. The place was only half full and they just didn't care about people. Pros: pizza was decent for Alaska. Crust is sweet but good. Soda is served in super chilled glasses. Cons: horrendous service, be prepared to be there for 2 hours. Cheesebread was pretty crappy. Prices are outrageous. I will never go back after being treated like that and waiting so long without even a pretend apology.

The pizza crust is delightful (it's a bit sweet, which is totally great). A moose grazed outside our window while we ate. The service was so nice and friendly. Know, however, that they used canned mushrooms on the pizza. What in the world am I complaining about! I'm in freakin' HOMER Alaska!

SECOND REVIEW. I still like the pizza. Now I can get it for only $16.00 at the grocery store because when it is delivered it is a whopping $28, plus an extra $5 if delivered. Sorry but no more delivered pizza for us! I will just have to buy it at the store and cook it myself. Over thrity bucks for a delivered pizza? WTH? This isn't New York City! It is just snobby, snotty Homer. Get over yourselves, SM Pizza! You are good but come on, NO ONE is THAT good!

Marvin's is reminiscent of a chain pizzeria, like Shakey's, complete with old cabinet arcade games, plastic table cloth-topped tables, and a hometown server who you'd expect to call you "darlin'" when you stroll in.The inside of the restaurant is bigger than I thought, with the majority of its seating overlooking the water (with most of the view being the murky, grassy, puddles around the spit), but a view nonetheless. There was a note on the menu about auto-gratuity for big groups, like kids' sports teams, so I assume this is the place parents herd their kids into so the strung-out, little soccer players can scarf down slabs of cheesy pizza and beat each other with their plastic plates and shake red pepper all over the place while moms and dads drink themselves under the table to try to drown out the cacophony of screaming children. I'm not from Homer, but I imagine this is a long-time staple of the town's skyline. It felt old, a little grimy (with the broken power outlet cover and the dead bees and general grime mucked up in the window sills), but you can definitely get the vibe that this must be a nice hang-out for the locals especially in the wintertime when all of the touring blue hairs have long returned to their desert homes. The waitress was really nice. She didn't get around to refilling our waters, because she was the only server for the steady stream of customers (they were shortstaffed this summer, she told us later), but she was accommodating and polite, even to the annoying kids at the table over. The prices were a little high. $28, including tip, for lunch for two (appetizer bread, side salad, and a burger). Blah blah, "Alaskan tax," yeah we all know that. The salad was surprisingly good for $5, with fresh veg and some cheese. The burger came with chips -- in a bag -- and it was a self-assembly deal (even the mayo came in a little packet. Kinda weird.) Almost feels like most of the food was best designed for take-out or something. The pesto cream cheese bread was pretty good, but I think the sub bread they use for it really made it. It was slightly chewy and subtly sweet, and sooo good. I would have loved to take some of the sub loaves back with me. This is probably the best place to come for to get good service with alright food. Probably take a big group here for some greasy pizza and beer, and you'd be happy. You'll probably get much better service than the snooty ones over at Fat Olives.

To be clear: This is not fancy pizza. Its pizza pizza. We ended up doing spinach and jalepenos. It wouldn't be anything special...except the dough. The dough is very very special and tasty! They were open late and didn't have a wait. That's just about all I can ask for at 945pm. Plus the trivia questions on the table were fun.

$3 slice all day. Sweet, chewy crust which i enjoyed. Simple menu and interior much like an old pizzeria. I would go back!

You can't go wrong eating here, but try to get a seat near a window to enjoy the fantabulous view of the mountains and glaciers. Pizza was good and there's a pretty decent selection of beers on tap. The local brewery's beers are available... The red knot is particularly flavorful.

Good pizza. Not gourmet, but they deliver and it has a nice crust. Thicker than the other places in town.
