1 slice = 1/4 pizza = $5. Its hot, its cheap and its tasty.

Probably the best NY style pizza in AK. Great place as a destination on a motorcycle trip, the beginning or ending of a ski or hiking outing, or a stop over on a road trip. The pie is a warm crispy crust with the right amount of grease and toppings built in artistic masterful flavor combinations along with the American standards available by the slice. A slice is a quarter pie so you most certainly won't go away wanting, except for possibly more. Stop in and curb your hunger. My only complaint is that they aren't closer to my house. But that gives reason for road trips.

Coast Pizza is a nice little stop if you are on a long road trip south and you want a quick decent pizza. It's nothing fancy really, but there a couple tables that you bus yourself and the staff are generally friendly. The local town of Girdwood seems to use this as their go-to pizza take out place. If you stop in and actually eat pizza at the restaurant, you will see a dozen or so locals come in for take out orders. Coast Pizza is also right next to a great ice cream parlor.

That's a spicy meatball. Coast pizza is freakin awesome. One piece takes you to heaven, but the price is very high

Let me tell you about this little pizza joint out in the middle of nowhere. Its Called Cost Pizza its located along the Seward highway in Alaska. Its location is rather Ideal considering that closest town is about 100 miles away. This is because it is strategically adjoined to a popular pit stop and near a Ski Resort. They are easily the most successful pizza place in the area....because they are the only pizza place in the area. Now I'm not saying the quality is bad.....however I'm not saying is particularly good either. I always feel bad when talking bad about pizza, A little bit of me even dies. But The truth deserves to be told!!! I walked in to this place around 5pm after a long day of skiing and tearing my ACL. (That's another story for my Anatomy Blog) The place was Packed, and we placed our orders......we waited.......we waited......and we waited. finally we got our pizza and were running late so we had to take it to go. (The picture above was taken on my lap in a dark car) I reached for my first slice and went to lift it up and "SLOOP!" all my toppings slid off. (see above picture) Now remember kids it is always Ideal to wait from 5 to 7 minutes before attempting to eat a fresh pizza. Unfortunately this was not where the error occurred. The Cheese had failed to fuse to the bread which is quite the culinary blunder. By the time I finally got a slice into my belly I was already frustrated and disappointed. I didn't even finish it..... yeah....that bad. it was lacking in flavor bread was bland sauce was practically nonexistent. you know what...Im tired of talking about this pizza.... here's a quote from Cost Pizza's website. "Coast Pizza is a favorite of Girdwood locals and travelers alike. Since April of 2009 Coast has been offering old favorites and some excellent additions under the new ownership of Mike Mroczynski. With a totally remodeled kitchen and beautiful new dining room, Mike has continued to offer the quality pizza and subs regular customers have come to expect with some new additions. Mike uses some of his own recipes, adding his personal voice to the menu along with favorites everyone expects at Coast." Between you and me I think Mike Mroczynski isn't taken the business of Pizza seriously. Lets burn that place to the ground!!! WHO'S WITH ME??? This Pizza gets a 3 out of 10 Evanator out!

An unplanned lunch stop on our trip back to Anchorage. I ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy and my husband ordered the Blue Cheese Burger. The service wasn't great, and you could tell that the staff didn't care for tourists. But oh well, we ordered our food and waited 20 minutes in a nearly empty shop for our food. The sandwich was fine, but the bread to filling ratio was way off. My husband enjoyed his burger very much though. Overall, the food was decent, but the service really turned me off.

Yes, I'm a tourist. Yes, I was craving pizza. Yes, I know this is AK at the height of tourist season. Unless you're addicted to pizza and have to have it.....go to the local mercantile and buy a frozen one and bake it yourself. Don't fall into this trap. Two slices of pizza that have been sitting in a heated case, a burger, and a side of onion rings= thirty bucks? And I picked it up myself. Yeah, I'm feeling pretty stupid right about now. I asked the girl if it's better to order a fresh pizza, and she said that its a dollar more. But, that the two slices of pepperoni pizza that I'm getting was " fresh out of the oven, and very hot". Felicia, I was a pizza maker in high school and college, and that ain't a fresh pizza. No thanks! Bye Felicia! (If you don't know Felicia, look it up on urban dictionary)

Feeling a little hungry on our way home we decided to stop to have pizza. This place is in Girdwood where told has a hippie culture. After we park I notice a line of people and myself I get in line expecting this place must be good. I ordered one slice of pepperoni and was give 1/4 of a medium pizza. It was huge with lots of cheese and pepperoni on it. It was a big saggy and greasy but tasted very good. This is small place and can either sit inside or outside. There seems to be a line to use the single restroom. It is an nice environment to enjoy a whole or slice of pizza.

I always order the Philly cheese steak. It is, hands down, the best in the Anchorage area. It's a funky joint with a variety of customers. The staff is always friendly, prices are okay, and the amount of food is more than acceptable. This place is on my list of go to places when I am in the Anchorage area. It's just a 40 minute drive or so from the city.

I Come visit Alaska every year and this is a Must stop. A large variety menu...1/2 burgers so juicy, they dribble down your chin. Wings, my faves are the garlic/ Parmesan, and subs big enough for two people. Or hey a slice of pizza sound good? Well that slice is a fifth of a pie. Come hungry cause your going to leave full!!

We paid $83 for 2 pies, a salad, and an appetizer with 5 drinks. While the pizza prices are a little steep, it's probably one of the cheapest places nearby with a local flavor. Try the smoked salmon pizza.

I lived in anchorage most of my life and although the food is acceptable the service is very bad that when enter the place nobody offers to help you or greet you but this guy will just keep steering at you and say nothing I urge all the tourists to avoid that place if they want to feel welcomed in Alaska. Thanks

The location and convenience will bring you in but the actual pizza will keep you from coming back again. Terribly bland pizza. I had the vegetarian and my husband had the pepperoni. Neither one of us finished the tasteless mess. For $6 a slice I'd expect to leave satisfied.

This place is awesome! Coast Pizza is located at the end of the Tesoro strip mall in Girdwood. In the little Tesoro strip mall, my group and I stopped here after a fun four-hour Girdwood outdoor adventure tour (gold-panning, hiking, river rafting) and we were hungry! A lady in the cafe and bakery down the mall suggested this place and told us that everything Coast Pizza makes is really good. She was right! In our group, we had ordered: Twisted Twirl Sub (a cheese steak with spinach, lettuce and tomato) - The 6-inch subs are huge, much bigger than a Subway 6-inch. Fresh bread and toasted! Plenty of filling to stuff your ravenous face! Killer Steak and Cheese Sub - (a beefed up version of a philly cheese steak) My bf ordered the 12 in. and it was humongous. He took half home for a tasty meal the next day. Cheesy Bacon Fries - This is very large and there is plenty to share among 5 people. The cheese is a nacho-type cheese and the bacon is crispy. YUMMY!! Pesto Veggie Quesadilla (a large quesadilla with pesto, fresh zucchini, mushroom, tomato, and mozzarella - I think) - This was served in four huge pieces and the tortilla was parmesan-crusted! It was soooooooooooo delicious!! Spinach and Feta Quesadilla (veggie quesadilla with plenty of spinach and also parmesan-crusted) Half of us ordered to-go, but the food took about 6-10 minutes so we ended up just sitting down in the restaurant and eating there. All the veggies were fresh and all the food was superb! I wish we had a location in California or that we had found the place sooner! They have a station ready for leftovers stock full of foil, napkins, utensils, and all the parmesan/pepper sprinklings. The bathroom was pretty clean too. And P.S. they had a Smoked Salmon Pizza that looked intriguing, but I had had my fill of salmon for the trip. XP Maybe next time?

$5 for a slice of pizza that tastes satisfactory, but really could have been a DiGiornio? Rip-off, but unfortunately there's not that much in Girdwood in the way of super casual food. It's either gas station snacks or spendy restaurants with great views.

The prices of donuts are ridiculous. I guess since there's nothing around, they get by with about 300% more than normal. It's one of the only places while heading south on the freeway, but if you need a quick coffee and doughnut, do it up. Granted they advertise that it's a pizza place, but it really looks like they do a lot of donuts here.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
