Five star food...one star service. Our waitress was nice but from taking our order to delivering our food, 45 minutes went by. No water, no updates, no appetizers...at least she was apologetic but that doesn't help a whole lot at that point. The food was good but expensive...one "trick" is to add $9 salmon to a salad and that was a good sized portion. I would still give it another try based on the food, but I'm not sure I can convince my husband. Also some wine education for the staff might not be a bad thing.

Excellent cost-benefit relation. Their inexpensive salmon burger is awesome. My wife had the french dip sandwich, also good.

Stopped by for lunch and had the musakhan. It was my first time trying this dish and loved it! It came with two condiments, yogurt and hummus. Very good full flavor. We got seated right away and service was good. Price was reasonable. Recommended.

Good food depending on what you order. I had fish it was really great. Husband had meat kebabs , the meat was tough. Pricey restaurant but the atmosphere is nice and friendly. The specials are usually good and fresh to try.

By far the best restaurant in Fairbanks! Great food, great dessert, great service with nice ambiance... second time here and will certainly come back for more!
(5)Manuel C.
Food was OK, nothing special. Price was outrageous and the menu was limited. Service was good and courteous.

everytime i want to love Wolf Run they change the menu. and i mean, EVERY time. I'll find an option that i find myself craving, go back to get it and "we don't have that anymore" :( :( If you're the type of person that likes to get something new every time you go to a place this would be great for you. One thing that IS consistent and always delicious is their desserts!!
(3)Lily L.
I must say this place is delicious. Prime rib sandwich and shawarma is yummy. The quiche is decent. The garlic bread is okay. The seafood soup is on the pricier side and not worth the price. The bake chicken "musakhan" Was tasty. Not sure about dinner but lunch was great! If you come from a foodie place definitely check this place out.

Had lunch today. Fantastic experience. We had salmon sandwich and prime rib sandwich both were flavorful and well prepared. Alaska summer ale with the sandwiches. Not normally a dessert person but ordered Incredible home made desserts pecan/chocolate pie and raspberry/peach pie. Cozy setting for a wet Thu afternoon lunch. Highly recommended !!

First time back since the remodel. WOW. It's beautiful. They done a great job, looking for a cozy, romantic restaurant in Fairbanks with great food...yeah there aren't many! The menu changes are great...the middle eastern influence is a much needed addition to fairbanks. Try the new Wolf Run you won't be sorry!

Fantastic. Great food, nice people, relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place!
(4)Garrett B.
Wow! Was very impressed with the building, interior, and even the bathroom (clean, nicely tiled, cool sink). All the food was delicious and came out quickly. I ordered the scallop appetizer, salad, wood plank tofu, and the pecan pie. Everything was very flavorful and the veggies were cooked perfectly and actually seasoned (for some reason, other nice restaurants forget this step). My server was very kind, friendly, and attentive. Drinks never went dry. And the best part of the experience is that they provided a free shuttle from and to my hotel down the street. Saved me from a 20 minute walk. They also had good vegan/vegetarian options. If I wasn't leaving on a plane tomorrow, I would be eating there again. Highly recommended!!

Have only eaten here once so my rating is off of that experience. Went kind of early around 5pm and was the only table in the restaurant. For being the only table our service was rather poor. Our waitress was slow, forgot to bring a knife out with the dinner meal and never returned with one. Delivered is the wrong check. The food was just okay and fairly expensive.

Arrived for lunch about 12:30. Took over an hour to receive our order, and when we did get it, it was lukewarm at best. The reasoning for the delay was a rush at lunch time. Hopefully they can improve on the serve time and temp of food in the future.

Boring menu, and poorly executed food.

Very nice. The Mediterranean food is very tasty. Had the Koffa Kabob. Also the "Mezza" which is really just pita & hummus with olives and pickles. I've been to the Middle East and have a different idea of Mezza. Very good hummus though. The saffron rice that came with the kabob had a little bit of saffron rice, but was mostly red rice pilaf. Can't complain though because the kabob was spot on. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. It is a lovely place for a couple ou a few friends but not child appropriate. Sitting here I feel as though the male waiter is impatient for me to go, as there are people waiting. So I ordered the cake, as planned. :-) Shout out to my wait person, Shay. She's terrific.

My husband and I came here on our anniversary. The waiter was very patient and kind and the entire place was relaxing! We started off with the salad. It was very fresh and the ranch was sparse but yummy! I ordered the salmon croquet which had a lovely puff, the salmon was cooked perfectly my only complaint was far to much buttery spread inside. The potato side was very powerfully flavored but good. My husband ordered the steak and mash. The steak was cooked to perfection but the mashed potatoes had a very odd sweet flavor which he refused to eat (so picky). I like this place it's pricey but for the relaxed atmosphere it's worth it!
(5)Kristin D.
If you like a little extra crawling protein in your potatoes this is the place for you. Let me start out with stuff happens. It's how you respond to it that separates the meek from the great. I am getting ahead of myself though. Myself and three others decided to try this restaurant out after a few great reviews on Yelp and awards of excellence from Trip Advisor. I ordered the baked $26 Salmon le Croute with mashed potatoes (and a delicious oatmeal stout). Friend A ordered the Grilled Salmon and mashed potatoes, friend B ordered a $24 beef shawanda (a grilled Greek wrap thing), and the boyfriend ordered a $44 aged steak and mashed potatoes (and a shocktop beer). Service was great: friendly and prompt Atmosphere: rustic upscale And then the food arrived. My pastry was flakey and stuffed with the cream cheese, spinach, Alaskan caught Salmon, and deliciousness. The potatoes were bland, but the the pesto plate adornment was flavorful. Friend A's grilled Alaskan Salmon was delicious. The mashed potatoes were bland and had a fly wiggling for freedom after she had eaten half of it. Friend B's beef Greek thing had awesome tzatziki sauce, but the meat was over cooked.... And burnt. Nothing the sauce couldn't fix though. The boyfriend's aged steak was bland and thinly cut. I mean thinly cut. For $44? The zucchini and mashed potatoes were bland. My issue is with how the fly fighting for freedom was handled: the manager gave friend A $3 off of her meal. We didn't complain about the burnt meat for friend B. We also waited for the Manager or Chef to come out and discuss the situation, to which the apologizing waitress communicated to us that neither the manager or Chef was free to come out. Before we left the waitress could only tell us that the Chef said that there was no way it could have been in the potatoes for it would have been dead (eww), and most likely came off the lemons or from the air in the restaurant. Therefore, the original 2.5 stars I was going to rate this place is now a 1. Summary: good customer service by the wait staff, but not worth your time or money.
(1)David N.
Crawling food... With bugs and extra protein. So our experience started ok with some good seafood, particularly the salmon. The aged steak was blah with equally blah sides. But the highlight came halfway during dinner. Upon trying the potatoes of our grilled salmon a bug crawled out. Disgusting!!! Usually a restaurant takes the food away and comps the meal or offers a solution. This chef and manager decided a $3 discount was sufficient and sent a horrified yet very kind waitress out to explain this. I asked for the management but upon request neither the chef or manger would come up to talk to us. We then were offered a response from the chef delivered by the waitress that it must of been from the lemon or the room and it couldn't have been in the food. I waited 15 minutes to see one of them and they never came. I hope that that no other person has to relive this experience and insults that we received by the cowardness of the manger and chef by not owning up to their mistake. I fell pity for their wait staff which were very kind yet had their hands tied.

We had called ahead to see if they could accommodate a walk-in before heading there and the person was friendly and easily accommodated us. We haven't been to Wolf Run since they renovated, so we were pleasantly surprised at the updates. It is s beautiful restaurant, inside and out. Upon arriving, we were seated very promptly. About 3 minutes in, our server came and asked about drinks. She was very nice and provided us good service throughout our visit. It did take her about 10-15 minutes to take our initial order however, but the dining area was full. We ordered the pan-seared scallops to start. I ordered the aged ribeye steak, and my boyfriend ordered the mixed grill entrée from the Middle East entree section. From this time, the service did take awhile, but not from our server. It took about 15 minutes to receive our appetizer, and from then about 30 minutes to receive our entrées. It was a longer wait than I expected it to be. When we received the scallops, we had o remind ourselves that this is a fine-dining restaurant. If you're looking for quantity, this is not the restaurant for you. The scallops were seared beautifully, however they were under-seasoned and parts of the scallops were a bit rubbery. The sauce I felt, while rich and creamy in texture, was very salty. I was expecting a depth of flavor within the sauce but any aromatic notes were covered by the salt. I enjoy capers but I felt that they were completely unnecessary to the dish. The garnishes could have been plated a bit better, but the overall plating was decent. After the scallops, it took about 30 minutes to receive our entrées. Upon receiving it, I was pleased to find out my steak was perfectly medium-rare. I've had many disappointing experiences resulting in medium-well steaks in Fairbanks. However, it did not taste like a 28-day aged rib-eye. While juicy, it didn't quite have the tenderness that I've had with similar caliber steaks. The seasoning was also a bit lacking. I did request no bleu cheese, but the steak should have been adequately seasoned to make-up for this. The other disappointing factor was the rendering of the fat. On a well-seared steak, the fat should have been soft and succulent, basically melting in your mouth. However, the fat was tough and chewy - and there was a lot of it. If you're planning on giving a customer a steak with fat, either trim the excess or properly cook it, otherwise it's basically inedible. The real star of the night from my entrée was the sautéed vegetables. They were perfectly cooked, and absolutely seasoned beautifully. The sautéed vegetables included yellow squash, zucchini, onions and carrots. They were juicy, tender, but not mush. The simplicity really allowed the natural sweetness of the vegetables to shine. It probably was my favorite part of the dish. I didn't get a choice of sautéed red potatoes or mashed potatoes - I was given the red potatoes automatically. I probably would have preferred the mashed potatoes, honestly, but the red potatoes were okay. They were cooked well but under seasoned and a little burnt on the outside. If the chef had possibly pulled them a little earlier, I feel they would have been seared to golden-brown and I would have been satisfied. For 44$ I felt it was not worth the plunge, considering the price and the end-product. My boyfriend enjoyed his dish. The little bits I tried were very delicious, everything was seasoned beautifully. The meat was all very tender and juicy. He quite enjoyed his meal. I feel that perhaps their Mediterranean and Middle Eastern entrées are their forté and would suggest looking to order from that part of the menu. We decided to order dessert as well, seeing as they are known for their desserts. I ordered the lemon cake, and my boyfriend ordered the peanut butter pie. Out of everything tonight, this was the best part of the meal. The cake was soft and moist, with a fine crumb. The lemon curd was delicious, well balanced in acidity and sweetness. Neither component overtook the other. The cream cheese frosting was amazing as well, not too sweet and very light and fluffy. The overall feeling of the dessert was very refreshing as the cake was very light and airy and left me very satisfied. I felt the whip cream, while pretty, was unneeded. The peanut butter pie was also very delicious. Beautiful attempt at plating but unfortunately the server said it slid and it wasn't as pristine as it should have been. It's a very rich and decadent pie, however, and still very delicious. As we were waiting for our bill, we overheard there were specials - our waitress did not tell us about them at all :( if we had known, our orders would have possibly changed. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not exactly a lasting impression. The servers were friendly and courteous, but the inconsistencies in the food comparatively to the price, and the service from the kitchen are what makes me give this a three-star rating.

This was such a bad experience, that we actually considered calling the next day to ask that the restaurant refund our money. It was recommended to me by someone who called it the best restaurant in Fairbanks. If that is true, then I probably won't be eating outside my house again for the foreseeable future. The ladies working the restaurant were all lovely; very hospitable. Unfortunately the food, drinks and seating were all such a mess, they couldn't make up for it. We were eventually seated at a cramped table, so cramped that neither one of us could pull the chairs out enough to sit comfortably. It was so bad that when the person seated behind me moved or shifted, I could feel it. The waitress took our drink order after about 15 minutes of waiting. When she returned, one of our drinks- a draft beer- was half full. When asked about it, the waitress said that they are out of beer. They ran out, and still sent out the dregs of the beer. The beer was not only half full, but it tasted like the bottom of the drum, too. She then told us that there were no desserts left. No desserts? This was Friday night and they are out of draft beer and dessert! Seriously? We should have left then, but we stuck it out. Mistake. We ordered the beef tips and the scallops as appetizers. The scallops were overcooked to the point of being rubbery, and the beef tips were completely unrecognizable as food. It reminded us more of dog food than anything else. It was disgusting; chewy, and lukewarm. The frozen garlic bread pieces on the plate were more appetizing. After that we should have left! Then the entrees arrived, Olympia Halibut and the Shawarma. I ordered the shawarma because this was supposed to be their specialty. I bit into the shawarma and was immediately repulsed by the texture and flavor of the meat. This was allegedly beef, but much like the beef tips, this was either incredibly cheap beef (think Arby's) or something else altogether. The Shawarma was inedible. It was absolutely repellent. They only thing edible on the plate were the frozen french fries. As for the halibut, the "rice pilaf" was not rice pilaf at all, but dessicated mixed rice on par with Uncle Ben's. For a halibut dish, it seemed to not have any halibut in it at all. Instead of a halibut filet, it was a baking dish full of sauce and topped with panko. There was very little fish to be found. I didn't have more than one bite of mine and my husband stopped after a quarter of his halibut-free fish dish. The waitress returned and puzzled over our full plates. "What was wrong, was it the texture or the flavor?" she asked me, which leads me to believe maybe they've gotten this feedback about their mystery meat more than a few times. I told her it was inedible. She said "Everybody loves it, its a beloved dish." She took my plate and said she would have it taken off the bill. I thought this was fair considering I didn't eat anything and we had been sitting there over an hour. But she returned a few minutes later, saying she "couldn't find the chef" and so presented us with the entire bill. Unreal. As we were getting up to leave, dismayed at having dropped about $100 on disgraceful food we barely ate, an effusive man I believe was the manager on duty literally cornered us so he could talk about his plans to have a tapas and spanish wine bar. We don't drink wine, we just wanted to leave. We felt it would be rude to tell him the food was terrible, but I wish we had. Instead, he demanded to know why my husband doesn't speak spanish (??) and then pretended to slap him 3x across the face! Seriously, what is with this place??? This was insane. We'd never seen this man before that night and he was so handsy, he wouldn't stop touching us no matter how many times we moved away. it was seriously weird. So by the end of the night, we left hungry, paid a huge bill and got insulted and touched by the staff! These folks at Wolf Run are robbing people. This was pathetic.

My husband, kids and I just had dinner their. Food was nothing but fabulous! Every bit of it. Our server was great (shay) their was another server their though that was absolutely awful, rude, swearing every time he went up and down the stairs. Thanks for doing that In Front of my 8 year old who heard you. If I were management you would be fired on the spot. He was being ridiculous to his co-workers arguing with her and swearing. It was very unprofessional and he will cost you business. I would let him go. His behavior was just rude and I can not express how professional she was for continuing to work in that environment. My husband and I are just shocked that he can act that way in such a fine dining place. I hope he is let go for his awful behavior and Shay is given a raise for putting up with such awfulness and keeping her composure!

I ordered a pie from Wolf Run for Mother's Day several hours on advance. Upon arriving, I was shirked by the first host I approached (she said she would get on it and I never saw her again.) After waiting 10 minutes outside, I approached a waitress who said she would get on it immediately. Another 5 minutes go by, and the waitress is shocked to see I'm still there. After yet another 5 minutes, they finally bring out a single slice of pie and tell me that whole pies need to be ordered 48 hours in advance. I would have been perfectly happy to take my business elsewhere if the woman on the phone had informed me of the 48 hour rule. Instead I wasted 20 minutes of my time waiting for a pie they never delivered. Completely unprofessional. I will never go to this restaurant again, and I will tell my friends to do the same.
(1)Kerri T.
I was only there for the lunch buffet and thought it was okay but nothing too amazing. The salad was good but the spaghetti was nothing too great. I would have to check out their dinner options but the buffet was not worth returning for.
(3)Jakkajan D.
Pricey but the food is good. Their BBQ ribs are huge. Alaskan Amber on tap. The interior could use some updating.
(3)B R.
Yummy buffet! Desserts were even better. Also very clean. This was our favorite restaurant in Fairbanks.

Great experience. Five star food & our waiter Julio was Exceptional . We found this place in the website, after looking at the photos, we HAD to try an upscale, middle eastern restaurant here in Fairbanks Alaska and I'm glad we did. We were met at the door by one of the most fun gentlemen we've ever had the pleasure to meet. He is from Spain , Julio . This guy is the best! Frankly, request him as a server. I could name all the dishes we had, but it doesn't matter. Take your pick. I'm an extreme foodie as is my family. The 4 of us could not get over the fact that each dish was the best version we've ever had. I'm very serious. There is nothing else like this place in Fairbanks. Great experience. Highly recommend!
(5)Frank S.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a great little place that I feel is unappreciated in the Fairbanks area. Everything from the soups to the desserts to the sandwiches are handmade and deliciously prepared. The party I was with could not be more satisfied with the service and the quality of the food. The prices were reasonable for the sandwiches, but I thought that they were a bit high for the dinners. The portions that you got for the dinner ls were more than adequate. They age and smoke all their own meat in house making for some of the best tasting beef I've ever tasted. The pumpkin cheesecake was AMAZING. We were told on the way out that it usually gets pretty jammed up on the weekends so reservations are suggested.
(5)Jamie A.
Our group decided to eat here while searching Yelp for a good restaurant by the Best Western. We walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and were lucky they had a table open as they were pretty full. From the very start, service was warm, friendly and accommodating. Being from Southern CA, where 'fine dining' is at every corner, it was nice to get service that was pleasant without being fake. We actually loved this restaurant so much that we ate here TWICE! We got a variety of dishes, but our favs were the seared scallops which were cooked to perfection and the halibut which you get pan seared with a lemon-caper sauce and risotto. The one thing I would say is that the risotto is really creamy and I would have preferred something lighter like plain rice. An even healthier option is the salmon which comes with brown rice pilaf and vegetables. My sister went for the filet braciole which is a beef tenderloin with herbs, Parmesan and olive oil. It was a large plate and not skimpy at all. Lastly, the chicken kabobs was a dish that stood out for me as it was flavorful, juicy and came with a pretty authentic side of hummus and chickpeas. My veggies were a little overcooked, but otherwise it was a tasty Middle-Eastern dish... in Alaksa! I am not picky with dessert (meaning I rarely have had a dessert I don't devour) but the chocolate cake with raspberry and the carrot cake are winners. I didn't try the peanut butter pie, but maybe next time! I didn't see the Northern Lights this time around in Fairbanks, but you better believe that if I get to visit again I'll stop by Wolf Run. All in all, everything here was delicious and I HIGHLY recommend it! My family loved this restaurant; we even kept them open a little late with our slow eating and drinking, but they didn't get mad at all! HUGE hello to Lina the fantastic hostess/owner and Jake a super duper server with great sightseeing tips for us.

We moved to Anchorage from south in May. We tried many restaurants in the area and this is the best restaurant which meets the quality of food and service for the price. I really wish they were in Anchorage..... I am sure we will be visiting there every weekend!!

Wolf Run has come under new ownership recently, and I had enjoyed it before, so we decided to go back and try it again since the re-open. Unfortunately, the changes didn't really work for me. They've really improved the look of the place with a good remodel, and it needed it. Unfortunately there's still not an arctic entryway, so you do get a big blast of cold air when the door opens. The food was okay. Not as good as it used to be. We ordered sandwiches with a cup of soup. Unfortunately, the soup comes pre-sandwich, so you feel like you're getting really tiny portions of everything. So does the salad. The tabbouleh came with our friend's meal, so it just seemed a bit scattered. The sandwiches seemed like they were trying too hard to be a bit more upscale than they should be. And the sausage sandwiches were quite dry and needed a bit more sauce or something. Who doesn't come to Wolf Run for the dessert? We split the raspberry cake and our friends got the key lime pie. The raspberry cake was nice, but nothing special. The key lime pie wasn't tart enough and just didn't taste right. The service was okay. The waiter seemed annoyed we couldn't make our minds up and made a semi-rude comment about being there all afternoon. I had filter coffee (for $3.50 no less) and got a few refills. I was charged twice. I know how much it costs to make filter coffee, and being charged $7.00 for the amount of coffee I drank was absurd. The new Wolf Run is trying really hard to be a bit more upscale than it should be. There's a level of pretension that wasn't there before and it's really not for the best.

BEST RESTAURANT IN FBX! Service is conscientious & thoughtful & point out when some dishes (kabobs) will take longer. Food is absolutely gourmet & the best prepared!! The other reviews here are spot on! Ambiance is quaint, homelike & we did not mind at all being seated near another couple (European style) so we could be seated sooner. Hostess needed to be a little more confident but seemed new (& we showed up without res on fri nite before Cmas)...still way more welcoming than the Lavelle's hosts (where the first question ALWAYS out of their mouths: do u have a res?) is never a greeting. We will always return to Wolf Run. It's the best!
(5)Steven S.
Wolf Run has always been the dessert place in the years that I have been in Fairbanks. Now it is a treasured jem in the culinary world. The food is amazing. The desserts are sinful! And they offer gluten free options, that are exceptional.
(4)Di Z.
We were here to have fine-dining and celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Had a beef wellington and some grilled fish. Food was above average. However, we were a little unhappy with their service. There was something wrong with the stove when we dined and we waited more then an hour for our food. Nobody expected that to happen and we totally understand that. However, we received no apologies at all. Only the waiter came to add water and said "We need some time to repair the stove" once during the one-hour wait. In the end we had no mood for desserts. I really wanted to give zero tip but ended up 15%.
(3)Sara F.
Amazing food I had the surf and turf and it was amazing!! The service was great and the staff very friendly
(5)Shane Z.
This wasn't our first choice. We were trying to get into another restaurant but they told us it was going to be 1.5 hours wait, and no reservations. So we went to this place not far from it. I am glad the other place had a long wait! We had immediate seating. I ordered the Alaskan Halibut Imperial. It came with a side salad that was very good, not a very big salad but it was excellent, the Ranch doesn't taste like it was packaged, almost like they modified it. The halibut came out and was very HOT! Straight from the oven, as I waited for it to cool I had my vegetables (Carrots and Beans) and my rice pilaf. Once it was cooled it was a very excellent choice, it was creamy and good. It was very filling. I noticed other people got their dessert and the serving sizes were huge! I ended up getting their key lime tort to go. it wasn't a huge piece like we seen them serve other desserts, it was a normal pie slice size. It was very good. This place seems to have some bad reviews. I am glad I didn't listen to them and tried it on my own. I am sure there are better places to eat, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
(4)Kim D.
We went there on a Friday night for our anniversary. We had heard mixed reviews but decided we wanted to try it for ourselves. From the start service was good- everyone was friendly and helpful. Our salads were delicious as was our entrees. We split a piece of carrot cake for dessert and it was excellent! We will return!

Four friends and I went to Wolf Run last night at 7:20pm to have dessert and wine. We were told that they would not seat us since we weren't having dinner. We were told that we could wait until 8pm (40 minutes) to sit down if we only wanted dessert. In sight of the front door were empty tables! On a Thursday night, as a small business in a small town, you DO NOT turn away customers! Guess what, Wolf Run---you LOST customers. Absolutely ridiculous little game they play. I will never go here again.

June 26, 7:40 pm. Showed up with party of six. Nice setting. Given menus and water right away. Left after 35 minute and our order was never taken or approached by a waitress.

I have now sampled the soup every day of the week - nothing disappoints. I heartily recommend a prime rib sandwich. In the evening the halibut and pork are delightful. Be sure to call ahead!
(4)Erin B.
My family and I were finally able to enjoy Wolf Run Friday night! Great service and absolutely wonderful food! We started with the Prime Cut Beef Tips which were incredible and the dinner got better and better after that! The Pesto Chicken and Steak and Cheese sandwiches with the Alaskan grown potato salad were a big hit with my daughter and husband. I treated myself to the Filet Braciole which was done perfectly and delicious! The restaurant and restrooms were clean and appealing and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant felt very Alaskan. Walking out after dinner through the snow covered, glistening trees that lined the path to the parking was beautiful. The only problem with the evening was that we were too full to get dessert (which I have heard is amazing). I guess we'll have to go back for that. : )

Filthy. There was literally food under every table and all over the carpet in general. The place looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The table was sticky and gross. Makes you winder what the kitchen looks like???? Totally run down. The jambalaya soup tasted like mushy beans out of a can and the meat tasted like it had turned. Was afraid to eat it. Ordered the beef Wellington (advertised as filet mignon). It was, without a doubt, a beef roast they tried to pass off as a higher quality of cut for a higher price, of course. Sneaky. Did something we never do, did eat it, complained, and didn't pay for those entrees. We thought maybe we could salvage this by trying their deserts. We heard the deserts where amazing. Not amazing. Very average. Service was very slow and there was only 3 other tables. The only upside: our boy liked the ravioli.
(1)Shane M.
Wow, the new atmosphere and management has stepped up. The fresh and thoughtful planning brings great entrees. DESSERT, simple and sophisticated happiness, leaving you ready for the next visit. We would have pushed five stars, but for the price....we want salad with the entrees or some scrumptious bread to start out.
(4)Mivox K.
Great sandwiches and desserts. Their outdoor patio is a nice place to sit and relax in the summer, and it's a good cozy place for a casual meal in the winter.
(4)Georgene N.
I look forward to Wolf run re-opening later this week. A great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner or just for a yummy dessert.
(5)Amanda M.
I was a little disappointed with my experience at Wolf Run after all the great things I had heard about it. The place wasn't that full yet service was slow. The food was good but nothing spectacular and for a place known for their desserts they were out of several things.
(3)Em R.
Lunch- YES YES YES!! Dinner- not so much. Desserts- YES YES YES!! Lunch menu is simple in the way of soup/sandwiches/salads, but all of the items I've had are extremely flavorful and fresh. Not the typical "I could make this at home" experience. Dinner menu is over priced and limited- when faced with the sticker shock I went ahead with the soup and salad combo. Was not impressed at all. I don't even remember what the soup was- something obscure- but it was the only meal I've ever wanted to send back to the kitchen (I'm too damn timid to actually do so). But. I stand by my 5-star rating for their WONDERFUL lunch experience, friendly waitstaff (who aren't stressed because it's small and barely busy). A perfect location for a baby shower or small get together. TRY THE CHOCOLATE ESPRESSO BROWNIE THING. Also, they're open all day Sunday, unlike many places in Fairbanks.

Really hard to find restaurant with good deserts, average foods. Lunch foods, what I remember: sandwiches, quiches, soup. The sandwiches are quite average; my chicken breast was slightly too dry with none of the promised balsamic flavor. The soup was highly recommended by waitress (some Italian soup) but it was okay - but I'm trying the clam chowder if I go back. Waitress' personality was larger than life and it kinda made up for the blah-ish food. Wish she would slow her recitation of the specials down (we had to eavesdrop on her recitation to the table seated after us to find out what the soups and quiches of the day were). They really should write them down somewhere where diners could refer to them while choosing what to eat. There are so many many types of deserts! I am amazed that our waitress remembered the super long list of maybe 10 different cakes....a little stupefied that diners didn't get a print-out to look at, you were just supposed to pick what you wanted from her long recitation. As someone that enjoys spending hours contemplating my options before buying anything, this threw me completely off-guard. But 1 slice of chocolate cake with toffee bits was more than delicious and enough to feed 3 girls out for lunch. Its located on the corner of Johansen and University (across from the Wells' Fargo) so I drive by it every time I leave the UAF campus, but until a friend randomly told me to meet her there one afternoon, I never even noticed the building. Even then, it was too easy to miss the entrance (on University; if going on University Ave towards UAF main entrance, it is on the right hand side, street right before the intersection - I wasted 20 minutes driving around looking for an entrance). There is a small parking lot by the big wolf run sign when you first turn onto the side street. For more parking, keep going straight and wrap around to the front of the building.

My husband and daughter and I went there for dinner tonight. I read the reviews already posted so didn't have huge expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The ranch dressing on the house salad was probably the best I ever had. Then I got the chicken kiev. Wow it was the best thing I had to eat the entire time I was in Alaska. Amazing. My hubby got the halibut and he was bummed he didn't get my dish. The fish was strange w the cheese sauce and way over priced. We also had creme brûlée and apple pie. Both were delicious. Definitely recommend!!

I love to take my sister here when I'm home. It's a great place to catch up with goofy, brainy types. The names of the foods we always order escape me at present. They have good teas, too. We order the salads, which are nothing of the caliber you'd find in America proper, but they have these fried won ton pieces that she and I just love. (I didn't say it was a healthy salad, now). Wolf Run is strange, which I like. It used to be a house, and has the whole frontiersman thing going for it. In short, it's quintessentially Alaskan. In short, you will find good, albeit pricey, noms. Also, their pies are delectable. The chocolate and peanut butter pie is cause for celebration.

This restaurant is not much to look at on the outside but they serve some really good food on the inside. It's near the college and not easily found by tourists. They have an excellent artichoke appetizer. The steak and pork shops are also very good. Most of all you need to save room for the raspberry chocolate cake. Yumm!

Expensive mediocre food in a rundown building. But, it's Fairbanks....

The setting is rustic but not "grand aunt-ish" as described earlier. Rustic but interesting. Hey, we're here for dinner not to buy the place, eh? Had dinner (halibut in sour creamy cheesy sauce and chicken kiev for our entrees). Husband had gumbo soup along with garden salad and I had Wolf Run salad since I love mandarin orange slices out of a can. The camelized pecans were slightly over-done with a bit of bitterness. House salad dressing was very nice. Dessert choices were chocolate layered with raspberry filling and a chocolate layered with ganache. I should say that the slices were 4 tiers with equal amounts of ganache/filling between layers so they were easily 5-6" tall. I thought I should warn you so you don't end up each ordering a dessert which will need to be taken home.... hey, that's not such a bad option, though, eh? The bill was about $70 plus tip. The waitress spoke so fast that I had to have her repeat the dessert choices twice. I wish they had a dessert list with prices so you aren't surprised that each slice was $6.50. I might be tempted to go there again for the Beef Wellington for $26. BTW: my husband's gumbo was pretty good :) It is not what we have previously had (with oysters) but had bay shrimp and nice chunks of sausage... almost tasted like pureed beans as it was very thick. Good choice on a cool evening in Fairbanks.

Foods good but the service is occasionally poor. Management seems to be rude at times though the wait staff are great.

When I was an intern up in Fairbanks, AK this was one of the first restaurants I tried up here and it was pretty good. It does not look like a fine dining restaurant from the outside because it looks like a shack, but on the inside it is really nice where you can take a date too. I spent a total of $30.00 and I had a beef wellington and a keylime pie. it was so good, the meat was juicy and the way I liked it.. I took my other interns here to eat for our final dinner, but everyone liked the food, but I got only one complaint which is the price, but their entrees are usually $16-$25. Dessert is $7.00, but I think it is definetely worth the price.
