Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Will always have an outright hatred of this place. Twenty years ago I had the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. A favorite commander was having his farewell and this was his family's favorite place. We went as a fairly small group...maybe 18-20...were told that we had to pre-order just three choices off the menu. I think mine was from the frozen Italian case at Sam's (Manicotti). They made it quite clear that the military wasn't really welcome, snide comments. I suppose a bunch of UAF professors would have had a better shake. "Oh, God, I suppose they'll want coffee now.." That was one comment...this was a group of Army Aviation Officers. A really sedate group. I've really never been more embarrassed (for them). I would have it placed on the military's "no-go" list like a local strip joint or massage parlor.

Another Fairbanks restaurant that still allows smoking. Thankfully, we didn't have to endure a smokey dinner as we were far enough away from the bar. I was surprised that butter was served with our bread instead of olive oil. I thought it was an Italian place. The calamari was mostly breading and again, we were surprised it was served with tarter and cocktail sauce instead of marinara. My pasta was awful. Tomatoes on mushy noodles. My partner's fettuccine alfredo was more like a mac and cheese which was good actually. I've heard their pizza is good. If we go back, we might give that a try.

Very smoky and not very cheap for what food you get. They say the my have a smoking section and a non smoking section. That's like having a peeing section in a swimming pool it does not work.

Excellent veal & seafood! Nice, efficient waitstaff. Only gave three stars as restaurant needs to go non-smoking so diners aren't sucking smoke while trying to enjoy their food! I won't go back for a sit-down meal but probably will continue to get takeout pizza.

This was my first time and my last. The reason why this place even got a two star is because of the friendly staff and the free bread that was the best part of my meal. I had the stuffed chicken, which was stuffed with ham spinach and mozzarella. My stuffed chicken tasted just like a Hot Pocket. The red clam linguine had no flavor at all. The side of spaghetti I got with my Hot Pocket tasted like rubber bands and tomato leftover sauce. The pizza however it was okay but it tasted just like a DiGiorno. I was expecting decent Italian meal for the prices but I was very disappointed. If you do not believe me how bad the food is then try it for yourself.

If you want the best fillet steak this is the place in Fairbanks for starters it is 13oz instead of the 6oz kiddie cut that is served every where ele in town for the same price, my wife and I eat there often and from the first time I asked for olive oil and received it, with no problem out of any of the staff, also there is a smoking section that we don't use (my wife does not smoke but I do) and she says sitting around the window seats she rarely smells it, I think it's great to go smoke there at 30 below instead of having to go outside, the staff is always pleasant and the price is good, We will go back many more times.

It's a bit of a drive out here. I was visiting a friend and he suggested this place as it's been a while for him and a new experience for me. It's an Italian restaurant that has a separate area for the bar. I don't care if people like to smoke, or even if the establishment allows it inside. I do mind it if the establishment cannot separate the smokers from the restaurant. Eating pasta was like licking an ashtray. Mediocre food, but service was nice. Actually, I knew the girl years ago when we worked at the same restaurant in Anchorage. Meh, won't come again. Would hit Gambardellas over this any time.

I'm pretty biased....it's my favorite Fairbanks restaurant and I've been coming here for 34 years. The only reason for a 4 star review...consistently out of halibut. :(

We took a friend here for her birthday... We had good food and great service! We felt the menu had a nice variety and my husband raved about his veal dish. Portions were plentiful so we all had enough for another meal!

Tonight my husband and I went to The Vallata for the first time after hearing rave reviews about it. I was really excited to try their Seafood Sauté described as shrimp, halibut, scallops, and King Crab sautéed in butter, wine, and basil for $26.95. I have never had a bad meal in Fairbanks and absolutely love halibut. I joked with our waitress and she was really nice. When my meal was brought to me all of the seafood was served in a bowl which, I can only assume was supposed to be the butter, wine, and basil, but made it look like butter soup with seafood in it and a couple crab legs on top (which had been covered in more butter...that made it fun to crack them open). I opened the crab legs and ate all of the meat in the smaller one, which tasted good. I emptied the bigger one but set the meat aside so I could eat it after I tried the other bits of my meal. Although put off with a butter soup, I thought the seafood in it might still taste alright. The shrimp was rubbery and strange tasting, the half scallop I tried was like chewing on rubber, and the halibut was dry (I didn't know you could dry out halibut and I didn't know it could be dried out when it was in butter soup). I was going to tough through it but all of the butter was making me feel nauseous. I didn't eat anymore and it was taken away without anyone asking how I liked my meal. We didn't see our waitress after she had served our food at all and had to wait 7 minutes after my plate was cleared by someone else before she finally reappeared. She still didn't ask how our food had been, just if we wanted dessert. My husband wanted some cheesecake and I ordered a glass of port, which she brought and still didn't ask about the food. Finally my husband asked her for the check. She delivered it swiftly to the table and started to walk away but I stopped her. I had to tell her how terrible my meal had been, hoping for some type of sincere discussion or compensation or...something...anything. She just said she was sorry and couldn't do anything about it now, that I should've let her know before. As I was saying I knew she wasn't the one who cooked it so it wasn't her fault, she walked away before I could continue with an explanation that we hadn't seen her from the time she'd set the food down until 7 minutes AFTER my plate had been cleared away. This may seem really passive aggressive, but I really did want this to be settled in the restaurant, privately and quietly. Unfortunately we were treated poorly and were not given the opportunity to do that so this was my last resort. Maybe the other food is good. Like I said, I've only heard good things about the food. However, after the disappointing meal I had that made me nauseous and the uncaring, disrespectful service we received, we won't be returning and will not be saying nice things to any of our friends in town about The Vallata. ***UPDATE*** After reading my review, Morgan Leiviska-- a cook at The Vallata-- emailed me and sincerely apologized for our experience and offered to pay for our meal if we would come in again. It was an incredibly kind gesture that we considered but decided not to take him up on it.

I have eaten here two times and was not very impressed both times. I think they serve decent food, however I believe the food is not worth the price you pay. The service is average. I did enjoy the live piano though.

This place is terrible. The ambiance is really nice but the food and the service are way sub par. Completely overpriced too. It's an Italian restaurant yet if you ask for a side of olive oil to go with your bread instead of butter they won't give you any! For the same price range and great ambiance got to Lavelle's over the Vallata hands down. Would not eat at this place again if you paid me.

Friendly but incompetent service. Did not know how to properly open or serve a bottle of wine. Food tasted like frozen dinner. Anti Pasta platter was a hodge podge of stale prosciutto, trimmed simple veggies, a low end cheese for $18.95. Completely uninspired wine list, generic california selections. One of my guests did have a good looking, well prepared steak. I travel for business and pleasure all over the world and this had to be highest priced lowest value meal I have ever eaten.

The food was just okay. Not what you would expect for the price! Stingy with bread and condiments. We were refused olive oil for our bread. There are better "fine" dining options in the Fairbanks area. This place is the Denny's of Italian food.

i CANNOT believe i get to be the first person to review THE BEST RESTAURANT IN FAIRBANKS ALASKA!!!! where to start: First off, its the best in the winter time. this isn't to say it isn't freaking amazing in the summer too, but in the winter its all dark inside and the lighting is beautiful - - its just great, take my word for it... If you're looking for an awesome place to start your night out this is it [however getting a cab from goldstream is $$$ (yet i do it often so it can be done) so you need a DD] The ultimate Vallata experience: A bottle of wine (Riestling in my case), the breaded artichoke hearts and clams oreganata with garlic bread to start. Then the filet medium rare (don't be scared...) with the potato croquet. Under no circumstances should you order the rice pilaf or whatever it is instead of the potato croquet. the potato is magically delicious. My ulimate Vallata experience also includes vodka tonics and pulltabs but those are optional [yet highly recommended].
